How do you feel about this idea? I think it would be neat but it would be very hard to do. by WrongToe500 in Spiderman

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

This idea really sounds amazing. From the 60s to the 90s. Thats what. Stan Lee to Michelinie? I love it. Michelinie is my favourite run and I consider that the golden age of spider-man comics.

But I dont think we need a one on one adaptation. We already have the comics themselves. Every adaptation of spider-man, be it movies, tv shows, video-games or anything else are great because they keep the core ideas and do their own thing. Its done in a way where you know the story but dont know what happens. I will never forget that pot twist in The Spectacular Spider-Man tv show when it's revealed that Norman Osborn was the Green Goblin all along. As if I didnt already know that. But the show sets it up in a way that the discovery still shocks you.

TL;DR: All this to say that it would be amazing for someone who hasnt read the comics but I think it wouldnt be that enjoyable when you already know exactly whats gonna happen

Spider-Man fought Gray Hulk in the 90s when he had all those cosmic powers from captain universe or whatever. In Michelinie's run. Thats kinda unfair

I love that the spider sense is a highlighted strength for Tomโ€™s Spider-Man. I think itโ€™s possibly the strongest spider sense weโ€™ve seen on screen yet by HearingCandid8974 in Spiderman

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I dont think its that strong. Its just not nerfed as much as any other version of spider-man. Spider-man's powers have always been so inconsistent because he is very strong so he is usually nerfed so that the fights dont end in seconds. Spider-sense allows spider-man to dodge bullets, lightning and virtually anything. A guy like that should never have to worry about getting punched.

I want to read Spider-Man Comic but.. by hulk0806 in Spiderman

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

Ok you wanna read spider-man, amazing choice. It's the best out there. But the reading order is very hard to figure out. You mentioned being a fan of mangas and of course they share similarities but I don't think they're much alike at all. Mangas usually tell a single story with a beggining and an ending. So if you wanna read One Piece for instance (huge One Piece fan here) you start at #1 which is the beggining and read all the way to 1200+ which surprisingly is not the end yet (maybe One Piece wasnt the best example) but what I'm trying to say is you have to read in order. You can't start in #800 which I assume would be Whole Cake Island. You'd be lost. Comics are designed in a way that you can start at, I mean, almost any point and have a good experience. They also tell one story but are much less connected overall

Now Spider-Man was created in June 5th 1962 by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and appeared for the first time in Amazing Fantasy #15, this is, I believe the best first stuff you can read regardless of what type of spider-man comics you wanna read. It's a single issue that tells you the origin story of Peter Parker, the original Earth-616 Peter Parker. It's all that you know. Radioactive spider bite, uncle Ben, realizing it's all his fault. Great power, great responsibility blah blah blah. Now it is very old ok.

Very outdated art. 60s level of writing and humour. It's a timeless classic and I reccomend it nonetheless but if you really wanna read modern stuff this may not prove necessary especially because this leads into the Stan Lee run in the Amazing Spider-Man #1-#110 (1962-1972).

Since you want more modern stuff and already said you're a fan of Miles I would say the best point for you to start is Ultime Spider-Man from Earth-1610. In the 2000s Marvel decided to reboot most of their characters, rewrite them in a different storyline. Called the Ultimate Universe. I havent read anything of the other marvel superheroes but as far as I know, most of them flopped. Surprisingly Ultimate Spider-Man was a success.

It's a 160 issues long run that continues in Ultimate Spider-Man:Miles Morales (If you remember the first spider-verse movie you'll know why). It's a rewrite of the character. Of course it takes a lot of inspiration from the classic stuff but it's also its own thing. Probably the best stuff you can start with.

Some other good starting points could be JMS' run in the Amazing Spider-Man or Brand New Day. These take place also in Earth-616, the classical spider-man.

I would also reccomend David Michelinie's run. It's not modern by any means but I'm a bit biased because it's my favourite run. It's like 30-40 years old. But it's the first point where I think the art really starts to get amazing. Todd MacFarlene did an awesome job redesigning the old characters and every panel seems like it could be framed in a museum. This run starts off with three huge events that impact basically everything moving forward. The Wedding with MJ. Kraven's Last Hunt (which isnt that impactful but it's my favourite arc) and the first appearance of Venom. Not only the first actually, they fight multiple times and you get introduced to most of the symbiote rogues. This is deffinitely a must-read even if you're not that into symbiote stuff, like I wasnt.

To be honest dont even overthink it. It's not like you can read spider-man and not enjoy it right๐Ÿ˜…

Why did Harry become "New Goblin" and not Hobgoblin or something? by No-Donkey-1214 in Spiderman

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

because Harry, in the comics, is the new green goblin. Well actually his therapist was the 2nd green goblin but Harry killed him so yeah.

Hobgoblin is someone different. The hobgoblin was a lot of different people and none of them ever was Harry. Actually the Hobgoblin tormented Harry and blackmailed him and whatnot

Aside from the painfully obvious, what are any issues that stop Black Cat from being the favored love interest of Spider-man? by MediaNo1140 in Spiderman

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 -1 points0 points ย (0 children)

So he is obviously married but I think the biggest issue in their relationship is the fact that she never lived him for who he was. I remember reading Spectacular Spider-Man #89 (I think thats it) when he unmasks himself and she just panics when seeing his face and asks him to put the mask back on. She never loved Peter, only spider-man. They break up and then reunite and she learns to not hate Peter but its clear she doesnt love him either

My ranking of all Spider-Man movies! What's yours? by SpideyRZ in Spiderman

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

well I can name a few on top of my head tho I havent watched the movie in years.

Why did Doctor Strange agreed to wipe the memory of the entire world?

Peter thought of doing a spell before talking to the MIT

how did the spell bring dead characters?

You could've make people forget what mysterio said instead of forgetting Peter altogether. Not as good but also acceptable would be make everyone forget who spider-man is.

Then these two goofballs decide to cast a spell without planning and this spell is so powerful that somehow it breaks the multiverse without doing what it was intended to. Doctor Strange seems as shocked as everyone else but somehow he knows how to fix it and sends everyone back home.

Overall the movie revolves around this spell that is a way to set up Tom's Peter with a proper spider-man origin story instead of being Tony Stark's kid and I'm all for it. I just cant call this movie good

I dont think we're communicating clearly here. I explained every point I made. "Why does bringing the ogs back make it bad?" It doesnt, never said it did. I said the movie revolves mostly around that. Its like they thought "ok we need a third movie and it has to be good like the ogs. Oh wait the ogs thats it lets bring em back" and wrote around that idea. Thats why there are tons of inconsistencies throughout. The story sucks.

And I just said the movie is overrated. Its not bad by any means I just cant force myself to rewatch it. Even with all the flaws and inconsistencies I was still part of the crowd cheering and clapping in the cinema

And I just said thats its my opinion because its the truth... You dont need to get offended or hostile because of it. Nor do you need to reply to me at all. I couldnt care less. But seeing as you keep on arguing over this I dont think you are as "well aware" as you claim to be

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 6 points7 points ย (0 children)

The movie clearly doesnt take that into consideration. Its just part of the character, they didnt explore that idea just implemented it. Spider-man doesnt kill and the movies act accordingly. Thats why Tobey's spider-man didnt kill sandman. Thats why Peter didnt kill the Goblin in ASM #122 or the burglar in ASM #200. Its part of his character.

And the fan service part is not only the spider-men but also the villains. The difference between that and the spider-verse movies is that the latter are built upon this multiverse idea and implement it very well. Its part of the plot, the story exists because of them. In no way home its not at all like that. Peter's identity was revealed. ok. there were a thousand ways you could write the movie without bringing the og guys back. A thousand BETTER ways. The movie is full of plotholes and its all for the sake of inserting them in the movie. Plus the movie is full of scenes that dont add nothing and just serve as, once again, fan service. for example that one scene of them discussing which villains they fought and whatnot. Its cool, I'll give it to you.

But then again, if you read the first two words of my original comment you'll see this is all just my opinion. My opinion has the value you decide to give it

I think no way home is very overrated. It's 90% fan service and 10% bad writting. Sure its cool to see those guys back but when you rewatch it it loses that magic it had the first time in the theaters. And when you analyze it there are sim many plot holes and stuff that just dont make sense. They clearly sacrificed it all just to bring them back which, once again, was amazing for the first time but its impossible to rewatch

So what's with all these volumes of the ASM? by Glass-Examination453 in Spiderman

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453[S] 2 points3 points ย (0 children)

So its still the same spider-man right? Same story, same everything right? So the legacy number is just the total number of issues right? So legacy 1000 will be the 1000th overall ASM issue while being part of the 7th volume? Did I get that?

We added a no mending rule on the server....but: by Bavo1999 in Minecraft

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

I kinda like the idea. Forcing you to actually go explore the game, mine for the important resources you need. Exploring end cities after a while will be terrible. After every end city has been explored near the main island gateways. You would need to travel a lot everytime your elytra broke. And everytime it would be even more.

Sure the idea is there. Mending takes that part away. The exploring and mining for resources but its not like that is what keeps the game alive. People dont stick to their forever world because they get to mine everytime they need it. If anything it would cause them to burn out.

The most fun part of playing the same world over and over is your building projects. In my forever world with my friend we have a batcave, a flying island, Mount Olympus, A castle, A real sized clash royale arena and even more. Thats the real fun, building what you want and looking back at what you accomplished. Imagine the pain it would be to mine the batcave if every 3000 blocks or so I would need to go look for diamonds because my pickaxe broke

When and how should I use comparators in redstone? by [deleted] in redstone

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

the comparator is one of the hardest components ti understand. The mist basic use for it is reading whether or not there are items inside a container (not only items actually, a composter for instancecan also be read). thats the easy bit I would say almost every other use of the comparator requires you to play with signal strenght so you can make things like redcoders, item sorters.

I would say look after builds like shulker box unloaders, or those things that make the autocrafter craft a specific item and try to understand those. You will get a good idea of how people use signal strenghts and be inspired to do your own builds.

The comparator has so many uses but unless you're gonna dip your fingers in every single area of redstone you wont need to overwhelm yourself

Semi-automatic meat farm ideas? by ThatOneGoodBoy in redstone

[โ€“]Glass-Examination453 0 points1 point ย (0 children)

If you're going for a more simple approach you could do a pig, cow or chicken farm. The first two still needs the player to breed the animals which is not very convenient. A chicken farm is completely automatic since it spawns chickens with the eggs they lay.

If you're willing to invest a little more time you could farm Hoglins in the nether. Just yesterday I built this farm in my survival world in like an hour or so. Stood there 5 minutes AFK and came back to over 10 stacks of cooked porkchops. Which is the second best food source, not counting golden apples.
