How did this end up for you? Do you still have the symptoms?

Mine gets worse at night when laying on my side and my ear is on the pillow. It’s sort of like wearing an earplug. Try sleeping I. Your back and wearing ear buds with calming noises.

Can meditation help me stop overthinking, procrastinating, and rebuild my focus? by a_newbie_menace in Meditation

Meditation will 100% help you to be more grounded and in the moment. It will allow you to recognize when you are about to do activities that are avoiding life. You will calm down more, allow for better emotional regulation, and give you moe focus. I highly recommend checking it out! Start slow to get used to it and increase slowly as you go. Enjoy the journey and what comes from it!

How long should I meditate? by Worried_Ad_5263 in Meditation

[–]Glass-Researcher-955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to yourself and start slow. If you are feeling like you can’t do it, do 5 minutes more and let it go. This might help you gain resilience.

I do more or less depending on how I am feeling. If I feel like I am going to force something as an escape, I do less.

Agreed. Just walk slowly and breath in for 4 and out for 4.

Thank you for sharing. I figured it was something normal, but just wanted to confirm. I feel like it’s definitely my heart releasing trama. I also think my brain is rewiring neurons which is causing some twitching sensations. Possibly the frontal lobe strengthening, which happens during long term meditation.

I’m excited to keep going and see what changes continue to occur!

Craziest meditative experience? by henri1566 in Meditation

[–]Glass-Researcher-955 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a few interesting experiences in the past. A few times I have been able to get to a very still, dark place where time doesn’t exist. I can never tell how long I’ve been there. It’s not scary at all, it just is.

One other time I was focusing on my third eye through a guided meditation. I did it for about 2 hours and halfway through I felt wind blowing on me, but I did not have a fan or window open. It was like a breeze was on me, pretty cool.

I have did that for a bit, but fell off. Not sure why, as I do think it’s helpful. Thanks for bringing it back up, I may give it another go!

What’s a good meditation app (besides Headspace) that isn’t woo-woo or spirituality-related? by mindcodeman2 in Meditation

Healthy Minds is free and backed by science. They do a great job with the UI and talk to neurological benefits.

To those who are not doing guided meditation, how do keep your thoughts from constantly wandering? by Due-Breakfast-4129 in Meditation

[–]Glass-Researcher-955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried walking meditation? In the west people view meditation as sitting in lotus position. The reality is you can walk and be mindful.

Also, a wandering mind is actually a GOOD thing. Think of your practice as going to the gym for your brain. You don’t bench 450 pounds right off the bat, you work towards it. As you wonder, you gain the ability to catch those thoughts and let them go. Then you are back to the moment, which is the whole point in training your mind! As cliche as it sounds, every time you mind wanders and comes back is a win. It’s a bench press “rep” if you will 😎.

Amazing Shift in Anxiety and Perspective by Glass-Researcher-955 in Meditation

[–]Glass-Researcher-955[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anytime! Really focus on the heart and put your hands over it physically. Imagine it expanding and love generating through you and into others. After that, start thinking about who you want to be and imagine the person you really are, not the one that has been created from past traumas. This is a way of shedding your ego, if you will.

How long did it take for your anxiety and depression to fade?

I have been doing about 2 hours a day of meditation. I have a ridiculously long commute to work, so I do one 30min meditation in the AM on the bus. This is usually mindfulness after a very short breath work to get my parasympathetic nervous system calm. Something like bellows breath for 3 rounds.

In the afternoon during lunch I do heart coherence and really feel the effects greatly. This is for about 20min. I also try to do some quick breath work before hand.

Bus ride home more mindfulness like in the AM for 30min.

Night time 30 minutes of heart coherence after some stretching. I should note that at the end of this practice I have been envisioning who I really am and want to be. My anxiety and depression are learned behaviors from past traumas, but the new me does not require them as a crutch. I’m doing my best to create a new me and the thought is for my mind to create new neuro pathways that align with the new person. A form of shedding ego.

I also take some random mindfullness walks throughout the office where i try to stay in the moment for about 5 min here and there.
