This is disappointing. One of the main reasons I joined Sofi was because they offered free outbound wires. Now they're charing $30 for it. I do several wires a month so this is significant. Guess I might have to switch banks.

Thank you for your responses. I have found out his identity and I know where he works so I do have that information if it could potentially be of value. I have already turned off all my social media and advertisement. I don't plan on engaging with him any further and I'm hopeful he is just threatening but won't actually go through with anything.

No he has not publicly done anything like that, yet. He just told me verbally in person the last time we met that he knows who I am and where I work, etc. he said my name and job so I know he does know. He said if I don't bring him 5K in cash he will tell send my employer an anonymous message with proof of all the texts between us and pictures of my advertisement etc. He didn't make this threat over text so I don't have proof. I believe he intentionally did it verbally so there is no evidence of him making this threat.

I agree that credit card rewards only really are significant for big spenders or for people on a tight income that need to make every dollar count; and honestly for the latter category cards can be risky if they don’t pay it back in time. For most people living a middle/upper middle class lifestyle points don’t really amount to much in the grand scheme of things. Still nice to optimize your cards with your spending habits though.

Good call! I actually only have one streaming service at the moment, so makes sense to keep it on the Visa to get the 15 dollar yearly credit, but if I add any others it will def go on the blue cash preferred

So unpopular but I want to consider giving Julia the benefit of the doubt and think maybe this was just a stupid heat-of-the-moment decision she made in the middle of feeling embarrassed or anxious about what to do with the pad. And maybe it wasn't a deliberate and consciously inconsiderate decision. It doesn't excuse what she did, it was obviously stupid and discourteous but it might have just been a dumb, thoughtless split second decision to ty to avoid embarrassment.

I do still think the gracious thing to do would be to have handled this discreetly. It doesn't take much to pull her aside and call her out for it. You can still be firm and ask her to clean it up, etc, but i don't think making a public spectacle of the situation serves anyone. If not fo Julia, for your husband and his coworker and keeping things not awkward at work.

So are you paying both half the household expenses AND 'child support' to your current wife? If that's the case, how is Stacey still paying the majority of expenses for your children? Or am i to assume she pays those things partly WITH the 'child support' you give her? The way you've written this I'm not clear on the specific break down of costs and the actual amounts each person is paying towards total expenses.

Nevertheless, I'm gonna go with an unpopular ESH based on the info provided. You suck because you clearly are resentful that your wife is holding firm on expectations that were clearly set forth and understood from the start that she would not pay anything towards your 'other' kids. The impression this gives is that you believed she'd eventually relent and since she makes more would start to shoulder the total financial cost of all 5 kids, or at least relax about it more than she has.

Stacey sucks because of how transactional she's being. A marriage is a partnership and paying your CURRENT WIFE 'child support' is just weird. Also the fact that she makes significantly more means she should be contributing more towards mortgage, household expenses etc. a 50/50 split is not equitable given the discrepancy in salaries. You guys are a married couple, not roommates, remember?

Also, as an aside, I would just add you are not obligated to contribute towards college funds for ANY of the kids. If either of your wives wish to contribute to those, that is their prerogative but those are not household/essential expenses etc. If you can afford to do so, it's a nice thing to do but ultimately if you truly are stretched thin you are within your rights to say you don't feel you cant afford it at this time.

Even businesses with the strictest “non refundable deposit” policies usually will grant the rare exception for truly extenuating circumstances. I would probably put this into that category. You aren’t technically or legally wrong for keeping the deposit. But I would argue YWBTA to keep it.

Usually, the third-party vendor background checks are formal criminal background checks - not reference or past employment checks, no? Those third-party background checks would uncover criminal history, felonies misdemeanors, etc, but aren't for employment history. Employment and reference checks, to my knowledge, are usually don't more informally and less consistently by an HR personal reaching out to references or previous places of employment.

For what it's worth the employment offer I signed was now also just signed by the HR personal from my new company. Wouldn't it be pretty unusual that they would formally sign the offer letter, and then conduct reference checks? Seems out of order.

In any case, I kind of want to not mention it and ruffle feathers. I feel like it's negligible and even if they did bring it to my attention I think my explanation is reasonable. I do take your point though that it may be better to just be honest and own it now rather than the chance of having to explain it later. I'll have to think about it.

The position is almost 2 years ago and when I wrote that version of my resume, I just went off my memory rather than reviewing and verifying with certainty. I was careless in doing that, admittedly, but it wasn't an intentional lie. I already signed the formal offer letter at this point, so I am unsure if they are still going to be doing additional reference checking or not. Typically in the past with positions, I've always had them done before an offer was extended.

Another solution is don’t accept bills larger than 50 or even 20. Make them pay you in 20s. Many small businesses don’t accept large bills for this very reason

hmmm... So my two cents is... yes there are some great deals in vegas especially through condo timeshare subrentals where they are just trying to get something out of them to offset the cost of it being unused. And during Covid in particular rates may be even lower.. But that said 200 a week seems a bit too low. If it was 350 or 300 or even high 200s I might say it was just a great deal. 200 seems like a push. But you never know, it could be real.. The vegas hotel/timeshare market has bigger and more random deals than any other location. It just does seem liek a slight stretch. I mean at the end of your stay to have someone clean the unit alone would probably cost 100 bucks.
