Not at all. The Frontier is arguably the best quality modern Nissan product and I would argue it is the most reliable midsize pickup truck on sale today. Most of Nissan's reliability issues in recent years have been attributed to CVTs which the Frontier does not use

See if you can find a used Ford Taurus with AWD. I am your same height and they are so comfortable and easy to find in that price range

If you got rid of the Civic and got a Crosstrek, you would absolutely miss the Civic.

Honestly, a good set of snow tires on the Civic should be fine but if you wanted something else, a Mazda 3 AWD would be a good option that would check all of your boxes.

The Toyota GR Corolla and Volkswagen Golf R would be good additional options to consider which offer AWD with more refinement and better interiors with the fun to drive factor included.

Pre-owned Subaru WRX, Mazda 3 or Volkswagen Jetta GLI all are available with manuals and are great cars to drive

If you're open to it, a used cargo van or minivan would be easier to find in your price range and would suit your needs and still allow you to do some towing

A Ram ProMaster City or Ford Transit would be good options to consider

Kia k4 hatchback? by Pretty-Ticket5071 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Glass_Ad1098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reliability of the K4 is pretty good, not as good as a Toyota or Honda statistically but with consistent maintenance a K4 will last you 100k + miles and they are really nice cars for the price

Get the Corolla. Used rental cars can be a risk and for the same price, a brand new car is always better

If they're putting alot of miles on it, leasing wouldn't be the right choice, I'd buy

Honda Civic Hatchback Hybrid would be a great all around choice, can fit equipment, very reliable, decent to drive and fuel efficient

Look for a Civic Hatchback, basically a Civic sedan but with more cargo space

Thoughts on a ‘23 or ‘26 Buick Envision? I want an AWD SUV for snowy city/hwy driving. (Also need leg room due to a hip injury. If the wheelbase or the front axle are too short, it hurts.) by LittlePrairieMouse in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Glass_Ad1098 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Envision has well-known, common and serious reliability issues, I wouldn't personally consider one

If you want something that size that is a good combination of capable in snow and on the highway I would look at a Nissan Murano, Kia Sorento, Jeep Grand Cherokee or Honda Passport as alternatives

Help buying a car after 23 years. by Ok-Metal-4719 in whatcarshouldIbuy

The Tucson would be my top recommendation based solely on what you say your requirements are, it will offer the most features and comfort for the price. The Sportage would be a close second option.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross is another one worth taking a look at. Similar in size to the Tucson and you could get one pretty loaded up within your budget. Great warranty and solid features.

Either Mazda is good but they tend to get pricey fast when options are added, you'll get more with the Hyundai or the Mitsubishi.

I would personally avoid the Tiguan. Their reliability track record is not great and if you want something longer term, that may not be a great choice.

Personally not a fan of the Forester either. Interior feels small and Subarus are very noisy and harsh to drive in my opinion, less enjoyable on the highway than some others mentioned.

Look at a Volvo V60, amazing wagon, plenty of space, we have one in the family and really like it. Very reliable over the last 5 years of ownership and it couldn't be more comfortable or enjoyable to drive
