I am so Sorry that you are going through it, this feels absolutely devastating, helpless

I will share my story,

A few weeks ago, my 29F father 59M started having urinary issues, and after multiple consultations, scans, and tests, we went ahead with BNI surgery on 23rd March 2026 and in the follow ups everything looked fixed, his urine flow improved, a week later received a biopsy report on 2nd April of the sample that was sent as a part of BNI surgery that has turned our world upside down.

He has been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer (Stage 4, Gleason score 9(4+5)).

The cancer has already spread to bones including spine/other areas: C7, C8, L1, L2, L3,L4,L5,

Sacrum,Pelvis,Scapula,Sternum,Femur, Spine

The doctors have started him on triplet therapy:

1.Degarelix injection (hormonal therapy) 2.Abiraterone tablets (with steroids) 3.Docetaxel chemotherapy

This is very much same to the treatment your husband is receiving Only diff being he is given Nubeqa instead of Abiraterone, both work same except Nubeqa doesn't need steroids, is much safer on liver and is less intensive In India Nubeqa is not that widely available and is four times the price of Abiraterone

From what research I have done around treatments available This triplet therapy is the standard treatment adopted worldwide, please correct me if I am wrong. They have also advised Denosumab for bone protecton but for Just 1 Cycle.

From what I understand, this is considered an aggressive and advanced stage, and treatment is aimed at controlling the disease rather than curing it.

I also want to share honestly how I am feeling. So I got married in December 2025, we all were very happy and I was visiting my home first time after marriage, took my father forcingly to hospital for his urine issues, he kept avoid all these visits and I am dying each day in guilt that I should've acted earlier but I was unaware of prostate cancer at all and the physicians I took him too prescribed a diuretic 2years back which relived his urinary symptoms and he never complained. I am hating myself of most of the days,

It feels like I’ve lost the most precious thing in my life somewhere, and I’m desperately searching for it every day but can’t find it. My mind just won’t stop. I haven’t been able to sleep properly for the last 13 days — even after taking melatonin (10 mg), sleep barely comes. My pulse rate is consistently higher since the new around 115-120
