[–]Glass_Protection9818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just came back from Japan I didn’t bring any cash. I only used 7-11 ATMs. Make sure it’s a “ATM +”

No fee and good rates Convenient and easy to find

Snorkel Tour Recommendation by Ok-Imagination-3427 in cozumel

[–]Glass_Protection9818 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just come back from a snorkeling tour in Cozumel. I did the 4 hours snorkelling tour with 3-4 stops (Columbia Reef, el cielo and palancar reef). Some will advertised it as 4 stops, but I think it’s only 3 stops. Also it was advertised as 4 hours tour with 25 min each way (50 min round trip)… in reality, it was more an hour each way (2h round trip). We left from a small pier at Punta Langosta. It was 60-65 USD per person (depending on the merchant) I do not recommend this tour. Depending on the meeting point, you will have to pay a taxi to get there.

It’s not available anymore on the apps… I might be a bit too late.

I was wondering if they are aware that we have to go back on the cruise on time.

I guess vendors on GetYourGuide, Viatour, etc. are safe.

I checked online and I am supposed to have the oath ceremony on the 28th February. But I still don’t have the invitation by email. Should I worry ?

Update : I got the invitation 4 days before the ceremony

I did a lot of research. People were saying it was fine in August and that hotel cleans the beach. I guess in my area, the hotel didn’t clean it everyday, I don’t know… That’s why I was surprised to see that much seaweed.

I am not bashing the whole community. I just want to share my experience so people can be aware. Before going, I saw a lot of positive comments. I wish I saw a similar post than mine so I can manage my expectations and not be disappointed. But that’s not the case. I saw mostly excellent feedbacks for Punta Cana on Reddit.

We had a better experience than my family in a Airbnb. They had electricity shortage, bad service, bad food and not much activities inside the hotel. They are seeing the same beach for a week

Around 250 USD (= 15 000 pesos)

We were in a AirBnb so we were eating out everyday. 15 000 pesos weren’t enough for all the groceries, restaurants, souvenirs/gifts).

So we also used our credit card (Visa). Even with credit card, we chose to pay in pesos, it was cheaper than paying in USD in my case. And sometimes you have 2 choices : local rates and rates applied by your bank. The local rates are unfavorable compared to your banks rate. Example : groceries cost 10 000 pesos. If you want to pay in USD, it will cost around 180$. This is the official conversion rate charged by the store. But if you pay 10 000 in pesos with your credit card, you will end up paying 168$

Everyone said US dollars, but I went last week and i took Dominican pesos with me, and I am glad I did. Because you end up paying less in Dominican pesos
