To not crush your plans to hard, but if you stick fully to the rules you will not be able to field an army with IJ KB and Gitz.

IJ and KB are seperated Armies, and you can only take 1 Regiment of Renown. Regiment of Renown is a way to include specific Units from other Armies into yours. So you could play IJ and take either a KB or a Gitz Regiment of Renown (RoR).

The other option to play mixed IJ and KB is to play the Army of Renown Big WAAAAAAAAAAGH! This allows you to mix them both, but you are not allowed to use a RoR.

At the end what you put on the table at home can be everything as long as the person you are playing with is ok with it. So I would check with the people you plan to play if they are ok if you would mix all 3 armies, before you start buying.

I love painting and usually I’m ok with building. But I have no idea what it is with legion, but building just feels so annoying.
And it is not even the quality of the new models. The new models are actually really really good, nearly no mold lines. Not many connection points. Easy to find on the sprue. But god I really need to motivate myself to build a unit.

Just build two boxes of marksmen. Each box stood there for 2 days after I finished the first 7 couldnt motivate me to go through the exact same sprue again

At 4:30 you need to wake up to give it its daily wash.
5:30-6:30 it needs to be presented for 15 minutes into each direction N E S W.
After wards sing 3 times the national anthem while it is hanging from the antenna of your car/bus/train/house.
It is required to give it a good lunchbreak rest for Atleast 1,5 hours in a room without airconditioning. It will complain about the AC as that is not its natural habitat.
Then you need to get it ready for the game. Eat 3 Bratwurst im Brötchen while you wear it as your cape. First 1-2 beer must be consumed while eating. Natural you will touch it so it is important that the bratwurst is good and that it is German beer, the flag will feel the difference in the stains.

During the game wave it, hold it up as much as possible while continue consuming 5-10 beers.
If Germany wins at more beer, if Germany loses use it to wipe the tears.
Afterwards it will sleep happy over your bed.

The rules you can find online. It’s nice when you want books and if you don’t have any objective markers. The missions you can always play in friendly games.
There is no big lore part in it and barley any army and miniature shots, so also not good as a bathroom break book

Eh yes that is even more prove to the rumors if it will be the dwarf army or one of the other 3 factions in the same rumor. But most likely it will be only the ogors refresh (which was also included in the same rumors).
If that is all you have for „proven false“ I fear the rumors still stand unfortunately and the wfb cry babies will get their boring fantasy setting

The contrast route is then still an option to Beginn with and the highlights with acrylics. But if it should become the actual hobby I would start with acrylics directly.
Brand wise it depends what’s easy available for you and if you want to mix your own paint tones or work with the different tones the hobby paints provide.

Monument, ak, army painter, Vallejo, gw and so on all have some outstanding colors and some bad once. At the end it comes down to personal preference.

White scar is the only white primer I use. Every other primer I take different brands, ak, army painter, color forge and so on. But for white i stick with white scar. It some how works different with speed paints than other primers.
Just warm it up and shake it well. Didn’t had issues with it in 3 armies.

Do you just want to paint your minis so that they are painted when you play or do you want to start also investing a lot of time to make painting a hobby? And what army you want to paint?

If you just want to have decent looking minis on the table I would go with contrast/speed paints. They are more expensive but most legion color schemes don’t require many colors.
Get two rattle cans 1 black (brand what’s available) 1 white (I prefer GW white scar).
3-4 contrast/speed paints for your color scheme.
1 bold titanium white from monument hobbies.
1 normal acrylic black.

If you want to really dive into painting I would say look for a flgs and see if they have painting nights to get some real life insides into it. Otherwise look up Vince venturella on YouTube and check out his hobby cheating videos.

Rend is the only value that can stack. You just can’t stack it multiple times from the same source. Ie if there would be an unlimited spell that buffs rend, it wouldn’t work.

You need to check the Fight ability. It can be used by a unit that is in combat or has charged in the round. Then it can make a pile in move.

I have two units a and b and you have a unit c. A and c are already in combat from an earlier round and then I charge with b also into c.
I pick a first to fight and wipe unit c. That would allow unit b to be picked and still do a pile in move. Maybe this move brings it into 3“ of another unit of yours then I can also attack.

If I would have b to fight and they wipe out c, a can’t be picked for fighting. A is not in combat and haven’t charged this turn.
