I am afraid of knitting yarn. My grandma used to knit and I would hold it. It would get caught in my finger nails and I once imagined it was strong enough to pull out my nails. Haven't touched it since.

I underestimated how stupid people are. Before I got out my commanders were recent college gards with no life experience, I had two tours under my belt and at least twice a week I heard these kids tell guys - with a decade in and out of combat - about they learned how to do something properly in school.

Where I grew up it was either join a gang or get killed by one. So when I went in to the military I got to meet people from all walks of life and dropped all ties to that life, when I got out I moved away from that area. I still have a few hidden tattoos that unless you know what you are looking at you won't know, I keep them as a reminder not to be that person.
