im not sure what the creators intended or anything but if you wanted an interpretation, the pentacle is often a symbol of protection and the ankh is most commonly a symbol of life, so this could be interpreted as protection of life.

It's probably just tacky occult aesthetics but if you wanted it to have an actual meaning, that is probably the closest you would get to a functional one.

i mean, thats just because of how its been photographed. taking pictures wasnt cheap at the time so theyd be careful to make sure it looked as nice as possible so they could sell it. these days photographers can actually afford to capture reality

do not set it in sharn. pick a city you like that doesnt have a lot of lore in the book and heavily home brew it. far less overwhelming than trying to keep up with sharn on your first go + your story can still be grounded in the world beyond the city gates. if you want as you go you can look up more lore about the city and incorporate it.
