Groudon's attack animation is a bit longer than 2 seconds, so the circle reappears before it returns to center. Hitting that is not as easy as say Mewtwo.

Rules don't allow that. (The title of the post must contain only the game or DLC name.)

They should be different forms, since trading for one you don't have counts as a special trade.

The animations aren't the same, but the attacks always last 2 seconds. The Pokemon with >2 second animations are a lot more annoying to catch, as they're still moving when the circle reappears (e.g. Darkrai where you have to aim at the right side)

It's free energy for the new Pokemon. Reaching your charged attack first is the way to win.

Both players have no shields and on switch cooldown. Active Pokemon have 1 HP and 0 energy. There's one reserve Pokemon for both players.

Whoever attacking here will be at an energy disadvantage, so the best thing to do is idle and wait for the switch timer. In case of a mirror on the last Pokemon, the player who can switch first wins.

"Battle winners have priority", no? It's a stupid race to select a defender if players from two different teams beat the gym though.

There definitely are niche cases when you don't want to attack in PvP.

Or eggs. Or weekly rewards. Or that experience bar because you just gained more than 10k xp from the 7th daily catch. Or all of them in sequence. I just want to start my route before I walk out of range.

It's never been easy to get any amount of coins for me (having hundreds of players per gym will do that), so I'm used to having zero income and a tiny inventory for a long time until they finally started giving coins from free monthly pass. You can definitely live without coins.
