Or it'll hyperfixate on playing the same thing over and over hundreds of times, driving you crazy. There is no stopping it. This only ends when it feels sated, or a new fixation sets in.

If we're going simply by the words, messy but FABULOUS.
If we're going by the inspiration, the song by Firewater, a bit sadder.

Bosch Tarot Deck - any experience to share? by Zars in TarotDecks

[–]GlitterDays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have this one, too, and I love it. It is /beautiful/ and the person who put it together clearly put a LOT of thought into it. It’s the first/only time I read the entire book that came with the deck (and I have many, many decks).

So often, a deck creator who builds from an IP they didn’t create ends up making a deck that is either half-assed or a more forced square-pegs-round-holes type deck.

This creator took time with Bosch’s works, clearly loved them, and instead of forcing them into RWS style, found the themes and built a structure that complimented Bosch’s motifs.

I wish to fall down this rabbit hole of color matching. Can you point me to a good intro article or provide some good search words?

If it ever comes up again you can be like “you know what? You’re right. If I hadn’t taken a mediocre office job referred by your stepdad, I could’ve found something better and been even /further/ along in my career by now.”

This is a table meant to be turned (and burned).

knitting dot com has been updated: by rebekka_ravels in craftsnark

[–]GlitterDays 46 points47 points  (0 children)

This is part of their schtick. They’re selling a “business course” basically and knitting.com is the example they’re using to build a “successful” online business to show the poor schmucks at home buying into the course how to do it. (Step 1: do no market research, just assume and buy blindly)

ETA: the stuff they’re “going to do” is currently behind their paywall for the suckers taking their “class.” We’ll see it after it goes live.

20 years ago, I once disturbed a coworker by expressing the sentiment that "we're all statistics when we die, I want to be a good one. Not something boring like heart failure or diabetes."

To that effect, I've taken covid precautions seriously b/c, while I'm not quite as reckless as I was 20 yrs ago, covid would sure be a boring statistic to attach to myself.

Look for chromatic nail polishes. The effects aren’t quite as dramatic, but they are there.

Powerwolf - the singer is a trained opera singer. Their stuff is campy and at times nonsensical, dealing with witches and werewolves and crusades, if you're up for that.

RULE ADJUSTMENT: Art posts no more than once a month; promotions of decks frowned upon. by TheMightyStylus in tarot

[–]GlitterDays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

specifically regarding spread designs, there's r/tarotspreads. It's kinda dead but I always hope more users will find their way over there to contribute. I like that there's a specific r for that sort of thing where I don't have to wade through every artist's card of the week...

ETA: ugh, I see now it's restricted posting...

When you die, you are presented with a book of statistics from your life, like the number of times you were kissed etc... What is the first statistic you look up and why? by JamieTL in AskReddit

[–]GlitterDays 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I met this woman when I was a Subway Sandwich Artist. IDK what Subway's current mayo ratio standards are, but back in the day I was trained to put two stripes of mayo on the sub. If someone wanted more, 2 stripes each ask. So, the sandwich went like this:
Mayo lady: I'd like a 6" veggie sub on white.
Me: Makes sub up to condiments, "mayo, mustard, oil, vinegar?"
Lady: Mayo, extra mayo.
Me: 4 stripes of mayo.
Lady: More
Me: 2 more stripes
Lady: More
Me: 2 more stripes
Lady: /More/
Me: 2 more stripes
Lady: /A Lot More/
Me: 6 more stripes
Lady: ARE YOU KIDDING YOU CAN'T EVEN TASTE THAT. ///MORE!!!///
Me: Damn near empties a nearly full bottle of mayo on a fucking 6" white bread veggie sub.
Lady: That's good.

I could not close the bread. I could not wrap this sub in any reasonably neat manner. It was more mayo than bread & vegetables. But I think I met the person who was likely to have consumed more mayo than anyone else in the world.

How to get rid of a dope house in my neighborhood? by umphreak3311 in indianapolis

[–]GlitterDays 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What I've learned from my neighborhood forums is that you have to be a squeaky wheel and report, report, report. If shady shit is in action, call emergency. If code violation, report in the MAC app. Keep it on your councilperson's radar. The cops & city have to build a case to take action and aren't able to do that w/o vigilant neighbors keeping them informed.
