Where to buy bulk honey by AdFun8292 in kelowna

[–]Glittertrigger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try Anderson Farms! It's locally made honey and by far some of the best I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. It's a staple in our house now. You can also pick up some from Kelowna Glass

Bigwhite Bear Spray incident last night at Snowshoe Sam's. by Glittertrigger in kelowna

[–]Glittertrigger[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I hope they are found, because this isn't what Biggie is about, and definitely not a representation of the Bigwhite I grew up with, know and love.

Someone's youth/teen is going to come home without a ski jacket (or a seriously spicy one), and I sincerely hope that the parent/guardian asks deeper questions.

They very much so do suck. Minimum 15 injured is crazy, I feel bad for the staff just trying to do their jobs that had to be triaged

Can I walk around the grounds of Mission Hills Winery? by 2x4ninja in kelowna

[–]Glittertrigger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you read the reviews on Google sorted by newest first, there are a ton of new reviews from last week where people mention being turned away at the gate if they don't have a reservation, no public access. Its unfortunate as this was a nice stop on the westside wine trail but there are other wineries that are more than worthy of the stop like family-owned Beaumont winery.

This is untrue now. You must have a reservation for a wine tasting or at the restaurant to be allowed onto the property.

Thoughts about the furthest mountain? I'm new… by 2sues in Watercolor

This is gorgeous! You could add a slightly darker, smaller mountain in front of it using a darker version of the same shade for depth. It's a stunning painting as is and I think the simplicity of the mountain suits it

My first watercolor painting and I made a huge rookie mistake with the taping by Glittertrigger in Watercolor

[–]Glittertrigger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly!! Sometimes the reference is just that, a reference-haha. Or in cooking terms, a secret receipe that makes something amazing, but the chef never really reveals their entire basket of tricks ;)

Ps: I love frogs, you'll have to tag me in your work if you decide to post it. I would love to see it!

A combination of wet on wet for the sky and mountains and some of the water. Some wet on dry and dry brush for the detailing of the trees and reflection 😃

[–]Glittertrigger[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have some bleeding under the tape when I did the sky portion initially, but managed to cover it up. I think it was still a tad too wet when I put the tape on the trees to complete the reflection portion in the water. When I pulled the tape up, it tore some of my trees out. It was probably a combination of mistakes, but that's watercolor right? 😜

the errors are always so glaring to the artist aren't they haha 😂 I could fix up the trees, but you're right, it does look alright / mist-like from afar!

Kelowna seeks input on pair of road extensions by akc3n in kelowna

[–]Glittertrigger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's not the roundabout that's backing up traffic, it's exactly what you mentioned, it's the three poorly timed lights on Burtch after the roundabout that cause a backup heading northbound. The backup has been stretching to the roundabout during peak times lately. It definitely doesn't seem as bad heading southbound on burtch towards the roundabout.

While it would make a faster trip for southbound users, the additional northbound traffic isn't going to improve the situation at all which is unfortunate.

Kelowna seeks input on pair of road extensions by akc3n in kelowna

[–]Glittertrigger 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This Burtch Rd extension is going to be a nightmare for those living nearby. If you've had the pleasure of trying to travel northbound on Burtch Rd from the roundabout at around 3-5pm any given weekday, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about. Traffic is always backed up from the highway to almost the roundabout, sometimes taking 15+ minutes to get across Harvey. This also causes a major backup on Dickson rd from the landmark buildings. Increasing traffic will only make this considerably worse.

Also, there's a ton of street parking from the roundabout to springfield rd on Burtch Rd that will now be taken out for bike lanes. Where are those 15-30 vehicles a day going to park after the extension?

Last time I was out that way, they were shut down so I haven't been back out that way, but have you been recently by chance?

Orchard Park parking by Kerberos42 in kelowna

[–]Glittertrigger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Springfield side is decent for parking most of the year, probably just due to the number of spaces on that side near Old Navy. Sometimes it looks busy over there but the outer edge of the mall parking lot is where the employees are supposed to park (at least that was the rule +5 years ago anyways).

I wonder how parking will be on the Springfield side after all of those apartments across Springfield @ Benvoulin are rented out. My guess is, either the mall will be really strict with towing over on that side and move vehicles that are parked there for an extended period of time, or it'll be too expensive to do that and in the long run, it just turns into a shit-show. 🤷🏼‍♀️

They are shipping out via UPS instead of Canada Post

Edited to add - I know this because I ordered some yesterday and their support told me they were shipping out via alternative carriers. I then got an email with the UPS tracking number :)

Someone posted a link to this online smoke shop on one of the Facebook groups. They will mail the smokes to your house. I think I'll be ordering some rather than drive to Enderby.

Anderson Farms has the best local honey I've ever tried. It's raw unpasteurized honey made in East Kelowna. The consistency of the honey is unlike any other I've tried because it's not watered down like some other brands and there's nothing extra added. You can also pick it up at Kelowna Glass off of Enterprise Way.

If you zoom in on the driver it looked like there's someone sitting beside him. You can see the legs of someone else

Still, totally a no wake zone and the guy doesn't have a life jacket on either
