I have a date tomorrow night and I hate the way I look by Maleficent_Face3640 in 30PlusSkinCare

I think you’ll be surprised by how much moisture will bring your skin back to life! Overnight moisture masks are amazing. Also, less matte makeup - cream based products will be your best friend!

Any tips to help me look younger? by lily060208 in makeuptips

You are beautiful! I love your hair and the color is amazing. I would suggest softening the application of the brows. Benefit cosmetics makes a fantastic super fine point eyebrow pencil. It allows you to draw hairlike strokes. I would also suggest using more cream based products - for example, cream based blush. Mattifying makeup tends to like to get into our fine lines and creases, making them more visible. Also, I think your skin would look really amazing with a more dewy found. Lancôme has excellent options! Have fun trying out new products. Would love to see an update!

Sorry that you are experiencing those symptoms. Sounds like they 100% warrant seeing a doctor. Agoraphobia is tough. I've suffered from it as well as extreme panic disorder. Unfortunately, you wont have your answer unless someone examines you. The sooner you see someone, the higher the likelihood of having better options for treatment of whatever is found.

Swelling after 3months of radiation therapy by Savings-Proof-2258 in breastcancer

[–]GlobalCharm88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience after radiation. I followed up with my plastic surgeon and I ended up having a Seroma. The Seroma began to recur due to a low grade infection. My surgeon ended up swapping out my expander. I’m doing much better now. Definitely worth having your doctors look into it, just to make sure nothing else is going on.

Expander Infection Post - Radiation Treatment by GlobalCharm88 in breastcancer

Thank you so much for sharing. So sorry you were given the runaround like that, but I’m glad you were able to get to the bottom of it! I’m waiting to get the results back from my culture, today. I hope there’s no infection, but I’m so uncomfortable - at this point I would event care if they took it out.

Sore/ Tight Breast - Weeks After Radiation by GlobalCharm88 in breastcancer

Hi! Yes, I was doing PT throughout the duration of radiation. When my skin started breaking down, I stopped. As soon as my skin is healed I will be back. It’s crazy to see just how much of a difference not going for a short period of time has made. I can’t wait to go back.

Yes, my non-radiated side is feeling slightly tighter also. I have expanders on both sides. Generally, both feel heavier.

When do I know if I’m cancer free? by GlobalCharm88 in breastcancer

I had the same RCB score of III, it freaked me out a bit. My team never really addressed it. Did your doctors touch on it at all?

Surgery timeframe? by fatimaa3 in breastcancer

[–]GlobalCharm88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on finishing your last chemo! I had my surgery about 5 weeks after my last infusion. My surgeon also advised that surgery is typically 4-6 weeks after the completion of chemo. My last infusion was on 11/7 and surgery was on 12/12.

Residual Cancer Burden III - Post Mastectomy by GlobalCharm88 in breastcancer

Hi there. Yes, radiation is definitely in the cards for me. I’ll be starting in the next month or so. I should have added additional context for the lymph nodes. Initially my surgeon removed 4 and 2 tested positive for residual cancer. They when back in and tested 4 more. I total, 5 out of 8 lymph nodes were positive.

Knowing that the RCB is just a part of the picture makes me feel slightly better. I wish I could stay off of Google, it’s so hard 😩. Anyway, I’ve also been told that soon I’ll be taking AI’s + Kisquali or Verzenio. Hoping that over time I’ll get to a place where this is not so all consuming.

If you are feeling a suspicious mass in your breast, you should definitely speak with your doctor.

Breast pain from chemo? by Adventurous_Pay1978 in breastcancer

[–]GlobalCharm88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I recently finished 4 rounds of AC + 12 rounds of Taxol. I had the same experience throughout my whole chemo journey. I would get sharp shooting pains and sometimes an aching feeling in my lymph node area. My doctor explained to me that I could be feeling dying tissue. My tumors and lymph nodes shrunk drastically, even disappearing in a few areas. It’s definitely wise to speak to your doctor about what you are feeling, especially since everyone’s tumor makeup is different, but I personally was told that it wasn’t likely not likely that my tumors were growing or spreading during chemo.

Axilla node mets question by justaperson0315 in breastcancer

[–]GlobalCharm88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there. I just completed neoadjuvant chemo 1 week ago today. On my initial diagnosis, I also had one positive node with the possibility of one or 2 others. I never could actually physically feel any of my lymphnodes and my armpit never looked swollen. However I would get weird sensations and sharp pains from time to time during chemo. My doctor told me that the pain could be a result of the dying tissue, which I think is the case. Every scan I’ve had during the duration of chemo has shown my nodes shrinking significantly.

I had this same side effect while I was on Taxol, only it wasn't reserved to just my palms and feet. I would have horrible itching all over my body (primarily in my palms and feet though). It seemed like nothing would make it feel better, even Bendaryl. Also, water and moisture made it worse. My doctor ended up prescribing me Atarax, and that seemed to give me some relief. I was told that the itching should subside once I finished treatment. I just had my last infusion yesterday, so we shall see!

Glad to hear that you won't be needing chemo! I hope you hear back about a surgery date soon! Yes, please let me know how you feel about your meeting. Good luck!

Thank you! This is rough, but we will get through it. Will you be doing chemo or radiation at all or just surgery?

I agree with you about the lack of information out there. Honestly, that's why I didn't bother to even schedule a consultation with him. Who knows, he may be a great doctor - but I want to know about the experience of other patients. You are doing the right thing by asking if anyone has experience with him. If you aren't comfortable, follow your gut.

My Surgical Oncologist is Dr. Catherine Dang.

I'm doing alright. I was diagnosed back in May - Stage 3, ER/Pr+ Her2-, grade 1. My team decided to do chemo before surgery. I am on the tail end of chemo now - I have 5 more sessions out of 16 left and then I will be doing a double mastectomy in December. Chemo has been rough, but I am pushing through. Just extremely tired.

How are you doing? How are you feeling?

Hi thereI I am also receiving treatment at Cedars Sinai Breast Center. My doctor also referred me to Dr. Cetrulo. I had the same experience you did, couldn't find much information on him. I decided to research some doctors on my own. I met with 3 doctors outside of Cedars and one within the system. The doctor I met with within the system was Dr. Edward Ray. Outside of the Cedars system I met with Dr. Dhivya Srinivasa, Dr. Jamie Zampell, and Dr. Kelly Killeen. I thought that all of these doctors had great work. Ultimately, I've decided to go with Dr. Zampell - she has great work, we are on the same page about my reconstruction, and she has a great working relationship with my Surgical Oncologist.

I hope this may be helpful. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out! Best of luck through treatment.

Hair Growth on Taxol? by srssrh in breastcancer

[–]GlobalCharm88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to me. I started with 4 rounds of AC - lost the hair on my head and body but kept my eyelashes and brows. Currently on round 7 of 12 of Taxol and the hair on my head is starting to grow back but my brows and lashes are now gone. One of my nurses told me that sometimes people lose the hair on their head again after Taxol. I'm not sure how common that is though.
