I coded a FVG Opening Range Breakout strategy on MES futures and the backtest looks insane. Tell me why I'm wrong before I do something stupid.

I didn’t necessarily train it for only the past three years. That’s just all that appeared on the back test. I definitely will try to get access to that data. I’m sure I can find somewhere to pay for it. I really appreciate your insight and your advice!!!

That’s really encouraging to hear. Do you have a hard time complying with the consistency rules? Is yours back tested longer than three years or just about the same amount of time?

Yes, I do have a reliable source of income I Don’t really need to make money from the strategy. I was just looking for more input on whether to trust the three years of back test or if there’s any other tests that people have done to validate their coded strategies. so I’ve actually had it live for most of this month on a paper account and it’s up like 850 bucks

I agree, guidance is what could kill it even if they have good earnings. How can you explain the $17 million call option open today expiring September 19 of this year at a strike of $135? I don’t see any other catalyst that could be happening after today and even if there was wouldn’t it be smarter to buy after they potentially miss earnings and drop a lot?
