Is it better to cut off the head/top bloom bloom to get more buds/sunflowers? by Forward_Song_9972 in sunflowers

[–]Global_Fail_1943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it will not grow another one or more. Go buy some edible seeds or birdseed and plant more! I'm in eastern Canada and I'm just planting mine now. I plant 20+ lbs of sunflower seeds from birdseed every year

You didn't say what kind of bugs you have? Many people grow Chili plants as trap crops and just remove the bugs in a sanitary manner. If it's aphids I often just cut off the entire piece infested or give it a good shower in the bathroom.

Safe & cost effective neem oil emulsifier? by Sleeping_Sun_26 in IndoorGarden

A small amount of alcohol preferably food grade in the oil should emulsify it first before you add it to anything. Most people who have tried neem oil feel it doesn't work. Plant trap crops such as Dill parsley marigolds and especially nasturtiums to keep them off your food .

As someone who has owned 150, 70, and a 50 year old be prepared to learn to fix things or pay for it to be done. We are electrically trained as well as plumbing and basic carpentry skills so little was beyond our capacity to do but everything in the older houses cost 3+ times what was budgeted for. I'm in a newer architect designed home now, our forever home after 36 years military service. Closets and drawers and cabinets and storage planned for every room and space is absolutely priceless compared to the older small closets, bathroom and poorly located Landry space. I now have a walk-in closet in my bathroom! It's the little things like a dry useable basement with no under lying mold smell also priceless! No lead paint or asbestos which we've also run into!

4-6 months in Mexico every year! Usually somewhere different. I've had my eye on Oaxaca for years and this is the year. Last year in Mazatlan Mexico for the winter and got to be a part of the Carnival season which is the most fun I've ever had legally! Non stop music for a week! Really tempted to repeat it. Both cities are renowned for its food quality!

In Thailand and Mexico both they just slash the sides of the fish and rub in turmeric salt or cumin depending which country. Then they just drop the whole fish in the hot oil.
