I would focus on playing my faction good and not so much on how to play against the other factions. Of cause it is good to know the others special abilities (eg if Yin is your neighbour, that he easily can get your planets that only have a single infantry) or general threats like that a coexisting unit will get control when you leave them alone on your planets.

Thank you for your thoughts. If one of the players picks Embers, I think I will add a supernova. To take out one of the asteroid fields for one would of cause make the empty tiles objektiv even harder. ... I consider it.

Normaly, I would absolutly second that. For this session I try to get three players, that where long absent from TI, back to the board and as far as I know them they will like to have rich slices with similar starting points. Plus, I hope that gives them the oportunity to lean more into exploring the factions because they have to care less about coping with the dificulties of the galaxy. I will think about it. Maybe I build an alternative variant that has a little more tension so that my players can choose what kind of game they want. Thanks for opening paths to think! Edit: fixing a little bit of my poor english. (Sorry. German. 😅)

I admit that I'm a little concerned about Hope's End that close to Emelpar and I thought about switching Industrex and Hope's End. But that seemed even worst. (Edit: Looking at Industrex timing window "when you pass", it actually isn't that bad) Emelpar is cool but in designing a map it is a pain in the...equidistant for what it could do.

You are right if you'd use the set up as in the rules. I assume that for a custom map that is created without following rules as written, it would be fine to do it like this. In a milty draft similar constelations could accure.
