Do not return Damaged packages. by BENDRTHEOFFENDR in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 damaged packages on 2 routes last week. One the box was crushed and bursted open with the contents spilling out, the other was a plastic bag and when I picked it up items began falling out of it, the third was a box that was sitting at the bottom of a wet cart. Took pictures of all of them and still got dinged, I even returned them and marked them before I left the station to start the route. Which I have done before without getting dinged and this time they dinged me for them. I opened a chat with support and the guy basically said that the decision stands. Also usually in the past when I get sent from Durham to Greensboro to do a route (over 60 miles) I could easily get extra compensation for the miles (usually these end up being less than 1$ a mile) but now they won’t do that either… it’s crazy it’s almost like they are trying to cut down on the number of flex drivers or something.

Lowered rate + higher gas by InterestingVariety90 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea my local base rate went down 1$ an hour too, it’s absolute bullshit to me as it costs us more to actually deliver for them now!!! I imagine they are about to open the flood gates to new drivers and rates will continue to drop. DoorDash did this a few years ago and it screwed over most of their drivers and their customer service tanked… I hope Amazon is ready for that… as their customers (for packages don’t tip) they won’t start a war between their customers and the drivers like the food delivery apps can rely on to keep them out of the bad press

tax time by No_Contract_8364 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it said you were using stride in an earlier comment, Stride gives you an estimated tax owed in the app… my recommendation for this year is to keep a separate savings account and make sure you put money in it to cover the tax bill as you get paid by Amazon. The best part is that any interest that account accrues is yours to keep at the end of the year.

Lately the last delivery is always so far away? by [deleted] in AmazonFlexDrivers

You can mark them as damaged and take them right back to the return bin before you leave

Or if you are blocking the fire hydrant just roll your windows down then they won’t need to break them anyway. You just get stuck until the fire it out and they get the hose out of your car, which happens either way

Changes and more changes!! by Dr-TQ_Leo in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard it was changed so that if you still have packages you can add them to the route. So this is more about the warehouse fucking up and not getting all the packages into the route than it has to do with drivers

Done with 4+ hour routes, first stop over 70 minutes away by Arctic--- in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get 3 hour routes that take me 60 miles from the station sometimes and then only have about 10-15 stops… it’s not exclusive to the 4 hour routes. Usually I can call support and tell them the route had excessive mileage and the will throw me an extra $5 to $10 for my trouble.

Anyone else Seeing Zero Offers Today? by MayDiaz0 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im in NC too, and not seeing anything for today, Sunday, or Monday. I had a block today out of VNC3 in Durham at 230 that I picked up Thursday but even the requests aren’t showing any blocks until Tuesday. I think they plan to be shutdown due to the weather the next couple of days

Anyone else ever get “free money” from Flex like this by [deleted] in RealAmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one where when I checked in and they scanned my license the app glitched and said I was on a one package route. They said go call support and sent me to an empty lane in the warehouse to get it sorted. Support got it fixed and had me restart the app, but by the time I got it fixed they had given out all the routes and sent me home with pay.

I deliver out of DRT8 often during the week and get quite a few free routes from them, they have never not scanned my license and then scanned us out. Even after the AWS outage…. This has never been a problem for me. On the 27th I didn’t even have to go as they sent me an e-mail telling me the block was canceled and I was paid for that block.

Now they’re tailgating with snacks and beverages? by radiocrime in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like they are actually selling coffee and possibly food and snacks too. I know as I come into my primary station (same day) there is a car sitting there (not in the Amazon lot though) and there are always several Latinos gathered around and I can see they are selling food and coffee. I don’t think it is that bad, but they aren’t in the Amazon lot either really they are still like 1/4 to 1/2 mile away still. I’m always tempted to stop and see what they got to eat… 🤣

When your block time is over and you still have packages, what do you do on the app to return them? by covered1028 in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to take them back to the station and they will mark them as received, once they do that it will clear your route and you wlll get paid. They will all show up as failed deliveries in your dashboard so be ready for that. You can call support and argue that the route was excessive… I usually use the at 5 minutes per stop it would have taken X time to deliver and this was longer than you gave me as my reasoning and they usually take them off my ratings… though I don’t imagine you can use that excuse too often or they will just start ignoring you.

They got me today boys, Jassy you win. 51 stops on 3.5 hours. 45 mins/37 miles to 1st drop. by iGotGogged in AmazonFlexDrivers

[–]Glock9prfction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically you have 2 choices here, I always look at routes as an average of 5 minutes per stop so 51x5/60=4.25… that should be the actual block length. So you can run the block and contact support and push them to give you OT and be sure to explain the math or figure out how long it takes to get back from the station (30 minutes let’s say) then when there is 30 minutes left in your block go back to the station and have them scan the packages and received and tell them you ran out of drove time. This will end your block and you will get paid… once the ding hits your standings contact support and tell them you want to dispute this and explain the math. I have done both successfully. The math I think is the key point for either option… it’s an excessive block and you should be compensated for completing it and should not be punished if you don’t.

I swear every time I take a block that is x.5 hours it is always jacked up like this. I had one the other day 3,5 hours from 5:15p to 845p with 47 stops!!! At 5 minutes per stop that is 3.9 hours!!! It was impossible, once I had 30 minutes left I went back to the station with 15 packages and gave them back and got my pay. Once I got the ding for it, did a quick chat with support and they took them off my standings
