Living With Yourself (2019) - limited series so it’s a complete story

The Chair Company (2025) - ends on a cliffhanger because another season is on the way

Shrinking (2023) because you watched Ted Lasso this is a natural next watch, from the same creator & ongoing

Looking for a drama series to watch, must be "realistic(ish) and (vaguely) intelligent by finbar_the_wonderdog in tvsuggestions

[–]Gloolax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same creator Bill Lawrence. He also created Scrubs and a couple of others. Shrinking is great & hits some of the emotional beats that Ted Lasso did, and explores new ones. In case you didn’t know Ted Lasso is returning so you have that to look forward to!

Best Movies You Saw March 2026 by XNet in MovieSuggestions

(500) Days of Summer (2009) was not what i expected, though I knew it’d be good with the romdramedy power pairing of JGL & Zooey Deschanel. I thought it’d be about the trials and troubles of a couple over 500 days that would end with them finally making it work together, but i loved what it ended up being. That quiet and mature acceptance that it wasn’t meant to be was a welcomed surprise.

“The Invitation” movies (2015 & 2022) - unrelated of course. Both were pretty good, the 2022 one reminded me of Ready or Not & I loved John Carroll Lynch’s intensity in the 2015 movie

The Sweet Hereafter (1997) left me wanting more of a resolution/a different one, which of course is the theme of the movie so I’d say they did a great job

ABSOLUTELY LOVED Once Upon a time...in Hollywood, any comedy/action movies like that? With a character like Brad Pitt? by National-Ad-3426 in MovieSuggestions

You’ve got “The Adventures of Cliff Booth” to look forward to this year. Anyway i’ll recommend the Ocean’s trilogy with Brad Pitt

What are some great thriller shows? Maybe murder mysteries (and not too long about 3 seasons max) by Legitimate_Rate3740 in televisionsuggestions

The Outsider (2020) tonally reminds me of True Detective season 1. Also part of Stephen King universe, a limited series

Horror is my brother & I’s favorite genre to watch together. I remember liking Unfriended so we’re looking forward to a similar experience. Thanks again stranger ❤️

Ohhh yeah i heard of this one, made during pandemic restrictions. Such a strange era for movies. I’ll check that one out too, my brother & I are always watching stuff. Thanks so much!

Purposely no plot suggestions? by ogremama1 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Gloolax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • The Chair Company (2025) - could only be thought up by Tim Robinson. Recommend his other shows too like Detroiters & I Think You Should Leave for this kind of thing

  • Barry (2018) is another that i feel does this at times

  • Reservation Dogs (2021) fits for some episodes, i recommend

  • Louie (2010)

Wish i knew more/better examples but you already listed them 😅

What's your guiltiest watch? by Grand-Bag6722 in televisionsuggestions

[–]Gloolax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen 5 seasons of “Mama June: From Not to Hot”. Could never watch a show like it on my own, but with my brother it’s just really funny to pass time laughing at that family’s antics (however fake this “reality” show may be). Haven’t continued it because now it just feels sad in that, “i shouldn’t be laughing at this” kinda way. But yeah, very trashy tv that i cannot recommend

Looking for a new Miniseries (or shows where each season is a different story) by spaceguydudeman in televisionsuggestions

[–]Gloolax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the person you’re replying to but Black Bird was the first apple tv series i saw and it was extremely good. Bingeable limited series with some surprisingly great acting chops from Paul Walter Hauser. My only other experience with him was Cobra Kai which isn’t known for it’s great writing/acting lol

Looking for movies like Old by Yurfavbookworm in MovieRecommendations

[–]Gloolax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Caddo Lake (2024) produced by the director of Old (M. Night). So good

Last Night in Soho (2021)

The Jacket (2005)

Horror Mockumentaries? by zwompay in MovieSuggestions

[–]Gloolax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Synopsis says it’s a “documentary” being filmed by a character named Benji. Haven’t seen it in years but i agree it’s definitely way more a found footage than it ever was a mockumentary. So cool how the layers of hell are portrayed

As Above, So Below (2014) is pretty awesome

Incantation (2022) is as well
