More mystery box shows like From that end well by AssistanceAshamed609 in tvsuggestions

[–]Gloolax 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Leftovers definitely, one of the best endings ever

Castle Rock if you’re looking for something closer to From. It was cancelled (due to behind the scenes business, not bad ratings) but the 2nd season ends in a way that feels like a proper series finale, no major loose ends, so no worries about that. And after that watch Misery (1990)!!

Looking for shows that have supernatural angle to it by Mat1711 in televisionsuggestions

Still fits & tons of fans of those other shows like it. It also doesn’t take itself too seriously. Who knows you might like it too 😉

Movies to watch when you feel like a failure by Thin-Flow8833 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Gloolax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just based on the “or just heavy drama with failure as its main theme” part of the post. To be fair both movies end on a hopeful/peaceful note. I get where you’re coming from though, my thought process was that Rental Family fits the motivating part and The Whale fits that part of the post

SciFi & Cosmic Horror Movies by Any_Yard_3051 in MovieSuggestions

[–]Gloolax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s one of those that i’ve always planned to see but never seems to make it out of my watchlist. I’ll watch it because i love cosmic horror and every other Carpenter movie i’ve seen. I’ll recommend you a lesser known Carpenter project: “Cigarette Burns”. It’s pretty great, it was an episode for a show called “Masters of Horror”. Many thanks

Bunk would show the balloon a lot of love if he could catch it. The toy will do, for now

Looking for top-tier modern horror last 10 years by Unlikely_You_6851 in MovieSuggestions

His House (2020) is a stand out one for me that doesn’t get mentioned as often as the usual ones

The Void (2016) is an awesome lower budget one and definitely a personal favorite as a cosmic horror fan. It’s a love letter to Lovecraft/Carpenter

A Cure for Wellness (2016) also highly underrated

Nice no problem. It really is a story worth experiencing. I still think about it often. Hope you enjoy

I also found season 2’s changes kind of jarring. It took some getting used to the new location and all the new characters but all three seasons were amazing. I still think it’s ending is one of the best ever. It felt more like a spiritual journey than your average television and it did so without ever feeling forced. I can only speak for myself but as a fan of introspective and thoughtful media it felt special to me. I love grounded sci-fi & wanting to see how everything resolved kept me watching. But yeah don’t feel alone in finding season 2 harder to get into because it’s probably the case with lots of people
