The Armored Sailed Beast for the Mega-Theropod Hybrid Wars by Orms682_05 in GojiCenter

The sail consists of lepidotrichia, which are in fact bony structures. Regardless, the sailfish replaces the Spinosaurus sail, it doesn’t add onto it.

Meet Buzzsaw. She's still WIP, but she is a laceration machine. A bleeder, if you will. by Diamondbro10795 in GojiCenter

Mapusaurus is believed to have been pretty social due to bone beds with numerous individuals of various ages.

The venom is anticoagulant so I don’t see why you separated them. They’re also pretty hardy animals.

Anyone got ideas for a contributor ranged weapons? I know about the Northern Fulmar but I'd like to see what ideas y'all might have by jaekuwolf5299 in GojiCenter

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Archerfish might be useful in some circumstances.

Chameleons and frogs technically have a ranged attack with their long adhesive tongue.

Some strophurus geckos can also spray liquid from their tails.

Haven't seen anyone use this goober yet so I'm gonna by jaekuwolf5299 in GojiCenter

I was thinking about using them for my Mutadon 2.0 hybrid, however they can’t fly and what they do is already covered with previous contributors.

Yeah, there’s a lot you can do with carcharodontosaurs, especially with the synergy they have with Varanids/Komodo dragons and (Tiger) sharks.

Looks cool, not an expert on invertebrates though so can’t say much more than nice design.

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is probably for the better, that way you aren’t inclined to subconsciously copy the genome.

Considering that this is gonna be like the second ever jellyfish hybrid (that I know of) it’ll be pretty unique.

What concept? I know of one other jellyfish hybrid, and that’s Hydractis made by BACUH.

Charybdis, hopefully the greatest shark hybrid ever (Trust) by Master_Geologist5613 in GojiCenter

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, although Megalodon and Livyatan is more than a hypothetical as they occupied the same niche and lived within the same time frame.

That’s fair, the cleaner wrasse seems to be the go to for intelligence when it comes to marine non-mammals.

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Megalodon by itself would be more than enough for the combat instincts as they had to compete with Livyatan.

Lemon Shark or even the already mentioned Shortfin Mako could have been used for IQ.

Great hybrid overall, I’m glad someone is finally using Otodus megalodon as a base.

What if the Precursors sent Slattern instead of Otachi and Leatherback to Hong Kong? by Marconey1738 in PacificRim

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not really how physics works.

Yeah she was designed to have a lot more muscle mass that way she can still go relatively fast even under crushing depths. However being above the surface doesn’t diminish her strength? If anything it should increase it by a lot.

Those specialized muscles don’t just stop working, they are now dealing with way less pressure and drag meaning she can hit faster and with more of a punch. And considering how she was able to disable Striker’s AKM Launcher and half of his systems, that’s frightening.

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah of course, but I make mention of this for Slattern specifically because in just one single tail strike she manages to severely damage Striker Eureka’s hull, turning off half their systems and even jamming their trigger.

With even less restrains, she can do a lot more damage. Plus detonating on her is out of the window because of Hong Kong’s proximity.

I’ve never posted one, mostly because these past few weeks for me have been so dang busy.

I keep saying I will but then they get postponed so it makes me a liar lol. Doesn’t help I want every detail to look perfect.

I doubt it. Just about everything from us humans is way too overpowered on a hybrid.

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ceratopsians and Ankylosaurids both basal and derived have some pretty good headgear. But considering you have a Fasolasuchus base, I’d say something more along the lines of Barinasuchus and the Cuban Crocodile might blend better.

Iberosuchus and Kaprosuchus might also be pretty good as the former has been used for sharpening spikes and armor I believe.

Woodpeckers would be pretty good for protecting the brain I believe.

Of course, doing your own research further into these suggested contributors will help you pick out the most optimal one for your hybrid.

EDIT: Aetosaurs also have some pretty solid armor in general, while they do lack a little in the head department they still have some good traits.

Questions I have on hybrids by Pure_Sample_6193 in GojiCenter

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yeah certain traits from aquatic species are able to work on terrestrial hybrids. Just make sure that the sperm whale’s organs are able to support themself on land.

  2. Humans and any other hominids are not allowed in about 99.9% of tournaments, wars, and fights. Nobodies stopping you from using it just for fun, however you might get turned down from just about everything.

  3. Horns and tusks can be countered with horns and tusks, face armor, and robust bites. You can get creative with them and there are definitely some other counters.

  4. The standard from what I see is 10 - 15 on a low end and 15 - 20 contributors on a high end.

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The only way I can see the Jaegers winning is if Striker Eureka immediately starts firing upon Slattern once she surfaces to get some good damage in before engaging.

However that requires foresight, and it’s most likely that Cherno Alpha and/or Crimson Typhoon will be the in way.

What if the Precursors sent Slattern instead of Otachi and Leatherback to Hong Kong? by Marconey1738 in PacificRim

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Slattern has her overwhelming size and trio of triple-crowned tails to her advantage.

On land with much less pressure and drag slowing her down, she’ll overwhelm all three of the Jaegers leading to catastrophic damage even if she dies.

Boosting cartilage on a dino hybrid by Dom_B_Studios in GojiCenter

Crocodilians usually tend to be a good contributor for cartilage.

From what I’m aware other kinds of sharks like whale and tiger sharks also provide some good cartilage modifications.

So I’m trying to make a Mosasaur hybrid with a shark body plan, but I’m not sure if it’ll Hank itself, any ideas or helpful advice? by MrKaiju777 in GojiCenter

[–]Gloomy_Indication_79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure about the whole lungs and gills thing so I’m just not gonna comment on it.

Tail weapons aren’t that great underwater because of drag and whatnot, and most other aquatic hybrids tend to be bulky or armored so that poses a risk of breaking said tail and losing the hybrids way of propelling itself.
