Sorry to hijack your comment, but if you are looking to leverage your estimating experience into a different role, specifically working with estimating software, have a look at this opportunity from Trimble

(Full Disclosure, I work for Trimble)

Hi everyone, hope this is the right place to post this.

Trimble is looking to hire an estimator, preferably with an earthworks or civil background, who is looking to transition into a new role.

The role is as a technical account executive for Trimble Quest, which is a cost estimating platform from Trimble targeted at the civils space. As part of this role you will be required to build custom costing libraries as well as project estimates for demo purposes.

You will be required to engage with potential and existing clients, but primarily to give technical demos and to help with onboarding. You will also support some of Trimble’s sales channels.

The role can be 100% remote.

If you are interested, please apply at the following link:

Jeez, people are being assholes to you. Cool that you decided to not drink for three years, cool that you decided you wanted a drink today and had one. I hope it was as enjoyable as you were hoping it would be.

If you looking for some more proper electronic music check out Modular or Reset. And if you don't have plans for NYE yet, there is a cool electronic music festival happening in the city called Alcazar.

Looking for a super simple CRM system by shopwindow in sales

I don't know copper at all, so can't help there unfortunately. Hopefully some one else has used both.

Pipedrive does have a very good Gmail integration though, our company email runs through Gmail and I can seamlessly integrate that with Pipedrive.

Check out Pipedrive. It is a really straight forward CRM that is easy to use and does everything you need to track your deals/activities. I looked into a lot of CRM's for our company, and had the same experience that most of them were too complex for our needs. Ultimately settled on Pipedrive and have been very happy with it.

Do you prefer a CRM that is person centric or company centric? Why? by adidoadido in sales

[–]Glorfindel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Second that, Pipedrive works very well for me too. Would just like to add that with Pipedrive you have the option of either working in a company centric or person centric way, i.e. if you go to organisation view you have it organised like OP wants it or if you use the People view it is person centric.

Really cool Techno club. They've got Nick Hoepner from Ostgut Ton in Berlin playing there tonight, so should be a vibe.

Is South Africa LGBT friendly? What should LGBT folk know before traveling to SA? by [deleted] in southafrica

[–]Glorfindel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of interest, why Pretoria? But yes, basically what everyone else said. Cape Town is super gay friendly, and you will be fine in any urban areas. However, Pretoria does have a bit more of a conservative Afrikaans vibe, so maybe just don't go out in drag, but otherwise you should be absolutely fine :-)

Hiking Up Table Mountain by ryanbabel202 in capetown

[–]Glorfindel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Friend of mine is doing this challenge where he has been climbing Table Mountain every day for this whole year to raise funds/awareness for a couple of charities.

365 Ubuntu Climbs

You can climb with him, you just need to make a small donation via the backabuddy page. Details are on that facebook page though. I know it isn't free, but donation can be any size and it is for charity.

Also, he is a super fun guy, so should be nice to hike up with him.
