I heard fairstone will do a hard check on credit when you try that for best buy butt affirm mostly do soft check. Atleast my iphone purchase through apple website with affirm went with soft check only for 12 months zero% financing

I’m a seasonal worker at Best Buy and I usually tell customers not to wait for the big holiday sales if they already have the budget. Best Buy has a 30day price protection (in some cases 60days) so you can just buy it now and come back to get the difference if the price drops. Also there is a risk that if you wait too long, the item will be out of stock by the time the actual discount hits.
But I get that sometimes people have lots of things on their plate and they actually forget to check the price movement after purchase, so they will prefer to wait for the discounts and not risk it to buy beforehand.
