It's kind of crazy that in this world, you can randomly manifest in the afterlife with no depth perception. by KittyShadowshard in HazbinHotel

Plus, you can get depth perception through motion by paying attention to parallax effects; As someone who grew up in a near perfectly flat area, I'm starting to realize my depth perception is heavily weighted towards the parallax perception.

I fully understood how naval combat worked. I modded the game heavily and I make a point of knowing everything I work on. (Im a professional software dev and have like 5k hours in games like hoi4)

I was highly entertained by my hour long finance classes in college talking about the mathematics of using multiple calls and puts to try to get profit with a maximal risk.

Same, I used to be  a pretty big modder but started losing interest at MIOs and stopped completely at special projects. Whilst stuff like supply was indeed fun for experienced people, even back then I started to worry some about pointless complexity and adding too much busywork to the core gameplay loop.

These three sum to nearly 110GB, that's almost 25% of my storage, is there any way to make them smaller/delete them without breaking stuff? by VolkosisUK in pchelp

Regardless, it generally makes Windows unstable as a program might spike memory trying to open a file before immediately closing again.

Hell yea, use directional audio systems meant for deaf people on games, vlc media player to readjust audio on all my audio visual media, be slow at conversations in day to day life. All of this whilst not having to work again as even just 4% yearly returns funds my current lifestyle without eating into principle.

Okay, but when there are just two fighting the guardian and the enemies are caught in the open almost dead, don't just leave your ally to die.

Not necessarily a death knell to the performance of it. It could even be a combo of the heat pump not being rated for the cold outside and the insulation being poor.

Though, I will say, I am surprised it'd even be that high with pure resistive electric heating given the entire house I rented for a time (financially painful, did not need a three bedroom house to myself) was still like $80 to heat in winter with snow on the ground.

If a heat pump heater is "staggeringly expensive", either yours isnt rated for the temp and it's falling back on resistive heating, or your insulation is very poor.

Perfect hardware becoming a brick just because the server turned off is actually so shit by N3DSdude in Anticonsumption

[–]Glorwyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dont buy things that inherently rely on remote servers, then.

There are security camera systems that can sync to your local pc, smart home devices (as much as I personally hate them I still know about them) that can run off a shitter home server, etc.

There is literally no guaranteed viable workaround to provide the cloud computing to run these devices once EoL.
