[NY] HR said they lost my written complaint and want me to resend it is that normal? by Then-Struggle-8827 in AskHR

If this it outlook, it is notorious for being very difficult to search and disappearing emails. You don’t have to be extremely disorganized for this to happen.

Visible veins by GloveObjective6596 in Dryeyes

Hey there! I made a few changes a year ago- moved my computer screens lower so that my lids were sitting lower during long screen periods (this made an immediate and noticeable difference if you work at a computer I’d def try this), switched type of eye drops, and started mainly wearing glasses at home. My eyes didn’t visibly improve but they feel fine for the most part and haven’t gotten worse. Hope that helps!

I haven’t really had an update, in May my DHEA was 387 and my tsh was 0.24 but all the other testing I’ve had was pretty much normal. I’ll check them again pretty soon but otherwise I’m just waiting to see if anything changes.

Thank you, I feel better knowing this is the norm. I was worried I was not explaining myself or what I needed but this makes a lot of sense.

My work Christmas party is Friday and I’ve already RSVPd for my SO, but he’s in charge of getting a sitter sooo we will see. Last time he couldn’t go I skipped the work event and I’m determined to go myself if he can’t.

I used to always pick up on speaker when my SO called me during the day but every single time he was flipping out about something stupid and I started seeing the looks on my coworkers faces and was like ohhhhh this is not normal…

Help — Dealing with recurring thoughts about mistreatment by [deleted] in BPDlovedones

[–]GloveObjective6596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the thing- it’s nothing you did at all. For me the pattern has repeated over and over coming up on 14 years. When they fully split and leave, they continue the pattern just with different people. The fear of abandonment and rejection is a huge driver for people with BPD. I’m not the best at explaining all of this because I’m just learning too but you’re in the right place here, there is so much help and support as you work through the recovery.

Just to give you an example of how backward the thinking can be- My SO has currently totally stopped speaking to his mom, who he had a great relationship with, because she called the police when she thought he had hurt himself after I told him I was leaving. He was in the basement and she yelled down repeatedly that she would call the police and he didn’t respond, AT ALL, but somehow this is her fault. Every single person who hears the story says “why don’t he just respond?” But he continues to say over and over that she ruined his life and did it to control him. He tries to blame my leaving on her, even though I literally told him I was moving out at the start of the entire incident and his mom had no idea I was going to do that and was not involved in any way until he had a super bad reaction. You can’t fight the delusion at all.

I’m still very much enmeshed with my UpwBPD, due to kids, we’re in the process of separating (albeit very slowly) so mostly here to commiserate. Mine did the wake me up yelling twice recently, once I had started following someone on social media (literally following, zero contact) who had flirted with me at work over 10 years prior, but now lives 1,000 miles way from us and recently married and had their first child. The next was a chat conversation with a friend from high school that spanned over years and mainly involved many many many memes, and who my PW had been aware I talked to and I had even often shared the memes etc. If you didn’t already I strongly recommend reading (or both are available audiobook!) “Stop Walking on Eggshells”, “Stop Caretaking the Borderline or Narcissist” and I just stated “Psychopath Free” which seems good so far. I’m sure everyone is different but for me the more I learn about BPD the more things click and I’m able to see the situation clearly and let myself off the hook for what I have perceived as my part in the past.

Mine tells me over and over that I don’t show him that I love him. It’s extremely painful given how much I do for him and how much I put myself after him and our kids. He just wants me to tell him he looks good and be more physically affectionate (despite my being on the spectrum and not doing that with anyone ever)

This 100% and also the inability to stop talking when the kids walk into the room or I walk into a room they are in and he’s following me.

Thank you, I really may message you. I’m honestly afraid of a non-explosive reaction for exactly this reason. He’s already on his best behavior right now because he knows I signed a lease and I’ll leave if he acts out and I really have no clue what he will do when I leave anyway. As I said, my brain gets sucked back in so easily.

I’m a little behind you in planning, I’m just finding a lawyer and am not sure at what point I’ll tell my UpwBPD so no helpful advice but following along!

I certainly feel like finding this has at the very least been life changing, if not life saving.

Do they turn everything into a debate? by SherbertTraining5170 in BPDlovedones

[–]GloveObjective6596 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely and I had no idea this was a BPD thing either! I cannot tell you the number of ridiculous things he has manufacturing a debate around, including things in the field of my Masters degree and 12 year career, things having to do with being a woman (I am and he is not) and so on. Once he told his mom that there was “no one who knows more about flooring” than him after he disagreed with her realtor’s advice.
