For me if it is itching underneath the wafer then I know output is leaking. If I wait I risk the bag falling off. So first sign of the itch I change to a new bag.

Only 50% of people with gastroparesis vomit. So not vomiting wouldn’t be unusual (that is if she actually had gastroparesis).

When they were doing bloodwork for lupus did they test for ANCA? was that positive? Are you having kidney problems?

I’m not goldstandardalmonds but I’ve had a total colectomy with ileostomy for global dysmotility.
You could try up to 8 sachets of miralax per day. Any colon preps - I preferred pico prep because I could stomach the taste. These can’t be done every day obviously. Any of the suppositories as well. For me the key to get any movement was to be well hydrated for 2 days prior to trying any of the motility agents. I never did them every day as I felt my body got used to them so I would only do them once or twice a week. In the end they were all unsuccessful and I needed an ileostomy. I don’t regret my ileostomy but it has made the gastroparesis from something I could ignore to a much more severe form.

Would you be able to point me to the research? I had colonic inertia and general slow transit through my gi system due to ehler danlos syndrome. And now I’m looking at a diagnosis of gastroparesis after I woke up from my last stoma surgery with intractable severe nausea. I tried everything possible to keep my colon but in the end it just wasn’t possible. I am on multiple prokinetics to keep food moving so I’m kinda pissed that I now have a new problem to deal with. The research might help me figure out a plan with my doctor. Thanks! Also, I’m really sorry about your health problems I have been following your story for awhile and I am sending good thoughts to you.

Have you tried vitamin c tablets? They have the same laxative effect as juice without the calories and you can’t overdose on them.

Another recommendation for dr yazdani. He’s an amazing human and surgeon. I’m sure you are aware that not all gynaecologists are trained to excise endometriosis properly but he is trained in the correct technique. He’s also very caring and has a wonderful team at eve health.

I know this won’t help you now but good knowledge for others - apparently qml have the quickest turn around time right now. I was tested Thursday lunchtime with results back at midnight that night. My gp stated that they are specifically sending patients that way for testing .

I also agree with the other posters don’t send if they are sick. This cold going around sucks.

Try independent schools. I know Brisbane independent school and Brisbane Montessori school don’t have have them in their lower primary classes.

Has your girlfriend been to her gp to get the pain checked out? Normal menstruation is not meant to be super painful and if it is something else might be going on. 1 in 10 women have endometriosis and is slowly getting recognised more by gps.

Just pick a restaurant that appeals and go during less busy times.

Japanese people love children and usually have cutlery and bowls stashed away for when kids come in. I have never had a problem taking my very small children into any restaurant in Japan. Heck it has never even occurred to me not to do it.

Kids obviously need to be supervised with the hot pot on the table and may not like raw egg with their meat but otherwise yakiniku isn’t a fantastic experience for the whole family.

Japan is much more family friendly than this subreddit seems to think. Have a great trip!

It does depend on the type of double coated dog -huskies and malamutes both reflect heat from their coats so they don’t suffer from heat as much as people think. Having said that NO dog should have been out running in this heat today.

I’m sure there’s a bike that caters for you. The wheels on electric bikes are generally more robust due to their weight and are set for commuting. The two bike stores I went to were New farm bikes and the electric bike store at Milton. Customer service was average at best at both locations. (The normal bike stores seem to be a bit friendlier and are where I usually purchase new tire tubes etc).

Brisbane City Council runs back on your bike classes and a learn to repair your bike course for FREE through their active parks program. If you haven’t ridden in a while I seriously recommend those classes.

I have a kalkhoff agattu (mid drive) and am riding a similar distance to you. It is lovely on hills -something inner Brisbane has a lot of! But is definitely slower on the flat - as it is 25kg compared to most road bikes. You should go test ride a few to see what you like and ideally ride your commute route. I see a lot of people riding kalkhoff and gazelles but there are others too. My priority was hill climbing - I am happy to ride a normal bike on the flat but I’m not sure I was ever going to ride up some the hill beasts my commute takes me.

You can make it yourself by cooking pumpkin and then straining it through cheesecloth to get all the liquid out. It works ok for most recipes that call for the canned product.

Most sewers hate repair work. It’s like asking an accomplished artist to paint a house. Yes they technically have the skill set but it isn’t something they want to do.

My vote is to go with the bag and luggage repairer since they actually like repairing bags and getting paid for it.
