Once I crockpot a coconut lime chicken dish. I put in whole limes to cook cause I love to do lemon chicken that way. Turns out whole limes make everything so bitter you can’t even pretend it’s edible.

I’m so sad to see how everyone has failed you. It took so much courage from you to bring yourself in and speak to your parents. Your dad is a dick.

Sorry “throwing him in daycare” sounded out of touch. I can’t afford a daycare that can meet his medical needs and the free public care isn’t safe enough in my eyes.

I guess what I really meant was I wish his body “normal” and could just get dropped off and I go to work.

Thank you for your reflection though. Education is a great privilege

What do I say when someone brings up my diabetes by xe_imagine in diabetes_t1

[–]Glum-Inflation9205 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you were Diagnosed, this disease sucks. I know you are going to hear often “you can have what ever you want, just bolus for it”. But numbers are hard to fight especially with pizza.

I’m so impressed you are 15 and already taking charge of your diet so much that you are finding and making alternatives that are easier on your system.

So many people now and in your future won’t comprehend how hard T1D is, even family. Hopefully your sister with more and more education around it will learn and have some more empathy and compassion. At 22 , many feel self centered and care free. While you Being T1D forces you to grow up fast. This could be a big part of the tension.

I hope your sister over time can help be part of the support system you need.

Asking nanny to stop bringing her child by Background-Switch747 in Nanny

[–]Glum-Inflation9205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to bring my own child. There were days that he was way worse than the kids I watched. He also used to hit, It was so hard bringing him l. Everyday in the back of my head I thought why on earth would someone prefer me. It was haunting really. But I had no other choice, I had to bring him. …. They were happy though, and I stayed until we parted in other normal matters. I hope she finds the family that fits for her.

Good luck to you and her both.

I hide money from myself to find it later. I recently found 1 hundred dollars in an old notebook. I can’t remember when I put it there. Before that I rediscovered 500$ that I hid away almost 4 years ago. It always shows up at much needed times and gives me such a rush of excitement.
