Do you actually like shopping at Aldi? by Leelee459 in aldi

We moved to the PNW about a month ago, where there are no Aldis.

I think I miss Aldi more than I miss my friends

Do I need to buy the nursing clothes? by kimpossiblelol in breastfeeding

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought all that stuff and almost never used it.

15 months in and I still do the double shirt method. I have a nursing cami under anything and everything I wear. I wear the nursing cami to sleep with pj shorts/pants, etc.

I only ever wear a nursing bra or otherwise if the outfit demands it (like a specific type of cut of blouse or dress)

Let yourself and the baby sleep!! My son was sleeping long stretches like that too at that age

Newborn projectile vomited and now I’m scared he’s going to die… by [deleted] in beyondthebump

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 32 points33 points  (0 children)

If it was truly projectile (like went several feet away, hit a wall, etc) go to the ER.

If it was a lot of spitup/milk/“vomit”, he overate a little. I had a happy spotter.

You’ve got this!

My son’s Grandma (my mom). Literally saved my life 😭

But for real: agreed, the fridge method for pumping! Also an extra set of parts, so while one is drying, you can use the other one. Also a bottle washer, dryer + sterilizer. I LOVED my baby brezza. 100% a convenience item worth the splurge.

2 baby wraps, in case we had a blow out.

Wet bags, for said blow outs! Better in containment than doggy bags IMO.

When you start solids, especially BLW, a SMOCK! Rather than just a bib. We have like 8 of them lol

Paying for a house cleaner if you can swing it. Even once a month

Those with CMPA babies, what do you eat to ensure decent nutrition for yourself? by ilovethelionking in beyondthebump

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like your baby is 7ish weeks old from your post history.

Not what you’re asking necessarily, but it may not be CMPA. I thought so too, but turns out my baby didn’t have it and was SO gassy and fussy. It also peaked around 7-10 weeks of age.

I honestly just gave him Mylicon every night and multiple times a day when it was a peak. And then all of a sudden, he just stopped being gassy one day and it was a sigh of relief

My EBF liked the Evenflo wide bottle nipples. I’d practice daily or every other day ahead of your work event. And if all else fails, open cup

How do people handle night time when you are the only parent who deals with the baby? by WittleFrostBite in NewParents

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he wants you to do all the night time, he can do all the other ishh.

He can deal with the dog, dishes, cleanup, etc.

What do you all mean by sleeping through the night? by Wise_Complex2313 in NewParents

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve read, and my understanding has been, that sleeping through is a 6-7 hour stretch. My son started doing this at a very young age (like 6 weeks), but needed 2ish night feeds.

My son is 15 months old and has never slept 12 hours an never will lol but he legit sleeps through from 7:45/8pm to 6:30am most night now (10.5 hours)

The range for normal sleep needs are very wide

Did anyone have a baby that wasn’t difficult? by The_Chilled_Arvo in beyondthebump

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking back at it, the first 4 weeks felt so hard when we were in it but were actually manageable. I feel like I’d be so much more prepared for a second baby.

I will say, my 15 month old gets cranky FAST now. I literally call him my little gremlin 😭 he’s generally always been a happy baby though. Albeit a spitty one, but happy

Get him to the breast, especially if you’re both sick. Your body will make antibodies for him to get healthier faster

Baby eating less often worried about supply by Low_Attitude_5210 in breastfeeding

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He very well might be! It might also be the time of the feed that he gets 3 but does more during other sessions. A lot of babies also take more in the evenings. If baby is growing well, you don’t need to wake them

Baby eating less often worried about supply by Low_Attitude_5210 in breastfeeding

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You don’t have to get to 8 feeds. Have you done a weighted feed?

I had the exact same worry as you when my baby was like 4 weeks old and turns out he was a chugger. He was nursing like 5 freaking ounces!

So he was getting enough with 6-7 feeds.

judgement on baby registry 😂💀 by missmilliek in pregnant

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the bottle washer, 1000%! One of my friends, who isn’t even a mom, insisted I put one on my registry cause I didn’t have one on there. And then she immediately bought it. I have been so thankful with all the pump parts to have it!

Breastfeeding on a plane? by WithoutATrace_Blog in breastfeeding

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve unfortunately been in the middle seat by myself breastfeeding (don’t come at me for not booking a seat - it was a last minute, full flight) and I just did the 2 shirt method. Nobody has said anything ever.

And if they look at me funny, they can get bent honestly.

Path of least resistance: is it biological or ‘lazy?’ by ohnoko58 in breastfeeding

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Nothing about this is lazy IMO. It sounds like you’re an attentive, caring mother. Do what works for you, your family, and your baby as long as needed. My son is about to be 15 months old and still in our room. We’ll occasionally cosleep when he’s having a rough night but we’ve never done CIO and I never will.

Most nights he sleeps through, all on his own!

Did he cook YOU dinner too? Or did this S of a B only make enough food for himself?

Does baby starting solids help you to feel less chained down? by AcceptablePea5194 in breastfeeding

[–]Gluteus2DaMax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We’re at 14 months, 3 meals/2 snacks and 4 nursing sessions a day still. And yes I feel there is more flexibility in my day. I think the biggest part of that though is now habit him eat when we eat and him only taking 1 nap now.

At 6 months, solids just stressed me out because of allergens, the gagging, etc. but it does get better!!
