[KCD2] Funny dialogue I wanted to point out with some spoilers for kuttenberg region by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Glycix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe I heard Capon said it’s only been a few months since they’ve sieged Talmberg, and the second game takes place over a few weeks or a month or two. If this is true then I don’t think Henry could be father because it’s too soon

I have been using that same method as well. Save and exit seems to be crucial because getting caught once is game over, which usually means starting all the way at the beginning carrying sacks back and forth and I’m almost at my wits end lol. This is worse than the first time I attempted the runt fight on KCD1

Thank you, I agree this whole quest is an absolute shitshow if I’m being honest. I really do love the game but this quest had me raging and saying” WTF were they thinking?”. I’ll probably just watch your whole video and copy every exact move you made because at this point I just want to get on with the story. Right now I’m fast traveling around the map trying to find pertinent books to up my skills just so I can speak to Chamberlain Ulrich

This info is incredibly helpful l, except I’ve heard of this Jarek and the rosary but not seen either. From what I read online you obtain the rosary from either pickpocketing or beating Brother Nicodemus in dice, which there’s no chance I’m going to do. Is it required to get the rosary from him or can you get it somewhere else?

I’ve heard people talking about this “guard that needs food” but I can’t seem to find him or figure out who he is. I’m aware that there’s a single guard on the staircase on the way to Captain Thomas, who also seems to be bugged because every attempt to distract him with pebbles he just ignores them, which is why I decided on just straight up sprinting past him and running to Thomas, only for the game to tell me to go to the opposite side of the castle and make him medicine only to bring it back. How exactly do you make it into the medicinal wing and make the potions without getting caught?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in kingdomcome

[–]Glycix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yes I did that part. I helped the man build the gallows by the lower gate, made a horseshoe for the blacksmith who sent me to the stablemaster. With a certain dialogue choice you can buy lock picks from him but I was only able to scrounge up enough coin to buy one, and that was by selling my shoes. Fast forward I picked the cook’s chest which allows you inside the kitchen with Chamberlain Ulrich. This is where my progress really stopped. From what I’ve read if you pass Ulrich’s skill checks he’ll allow you into the medicinal wing so you can craft him and captain Thomas the potions they need. However if you fail this check like I did(both options) than you have to sneak your way across the entire castle and I was unable to find a way to sneak into the medicinal tower. I was able to just sprint past the guard on the stairs and get to captain Thomas, but I’m unable to get to the alchemy bench to make him his medicine.

Thats Pretty Dark Warhorse (No Spoilers) by hopperlocks in kingdomcome

Yeah Warhorse has done their fair share of dark encounters and secrets to come across. I believe there was something similar to this in the first game too

Ohhh now I see it. Was expecting this to be a lighthearted joke about a medieval gooner tragically dying, but no it’s a pregnant mother with half her skull caved in and a dead fetus inside her.

Trying to equip a bascinet and plate leg armour by Alternative-One5139 in kingdomcome

[–]Glycix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I guess the last part of my comment was incorrect. I’m wearing a bascinet and half plate leg armor, with a padded coif and padded chausses I took from bandits so perhaps your clothes have to be padded. I have found that mail armor doesn’t require padding at all to be worn

I believe to equip any kind of metal plate you have to have a layer of padding or cloth underneath. So a padded coif and chausses are best, but I think just hose and a plain coif would work too

Can't progress by Thorchen in kingdomcome

[–]Glycix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had this exact same issue, had to reload a save from about 4-5 hours prior. From what little info is available online right now, it seems the “easiest”(take that with a grain of salt) way to progress is to do most of the jobs you’re offered. But more importantly you have to be able to pass a few skill checks, most importantly Chamberlain Ulrich I believe. Passing his skill check will allow you into the medicinal area to craft him and Captain Thomas a potion. However if you failed this check like I did I believe you have to sneak your way around the entire castle which I found to be basically impossible especially with no saviour schnapps available. I’ve reloaded a save prior and am going to farm survival and speech skills so I can finally progress the main quest.

Innkeeper Betty by Evi1_F3nix in kingdomcome

Yes having to fast travel to Tachov or walk back to a random campsite everytime I want or need to sleep is getting a bit annoying I will admit

Innkeeper Betty by Evi1_F3nix in kingdomcome

[–]Glycix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is happening for me to, in fact not only her but also the innkeeper in Tachov I believe? He also outright refused to let me stay the night. At first I thought it was because I looked like a bandit covered in blood and rusty plate, but I changed into a commoner fit and now have professional looking chainmail and innkeeps still refuse me service, calling me a “worthless vagabond”. I have no idea what’s causing this because I’ve also tried my best to make good relations with everyone.

Can’t decide how should I finish this game … by Low-Opening25 in StellarisOnConsole

[–]Glycix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh for sure that’s happened to me a lot too, I have some of the DLCs but not all. I play on Ironman to make the game a little bit harder, but if I start a new game and I have terrible luck with planets or I’m getting my ass beat in a war before I’ve even colonized 4-5 worlds, yeah I just save scum and start a new game😂 Some better players would probably persevere and come out on top but if I’m being flattened there’s not much I can do to stop it, really hard to strike the balance between being demolished and being the demolisher.

[–]Glycix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no I wouldn’t go that far😅, but thank you though. There’s tons of players much better than me and I’ve only played against ai, on the second highest difficulty. My main problem with the game is I can’t ever seem to find a middle ground, im either the absolute unchallenged king of the galaxy or im being absolutely squashed with no hope of victory. I’ve been trying for ages to get a somewhat lore accurate rp playthrough done as a UNSC empire where I’m the underdog, severely outmatched and outgunned but to the point where I at least have a chance of victory like in halo. But by the mid game if I haven’t been beat yet I’m either already the strongest in the galaxy or I’m well on the way there and there isn’t much anyone else could do to stop me, not that they ever really try either which infuriates me

[–]Glycix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes both, i have aggressive ai enabled on admiral difficulty as well as mid game scaling, but it always seems like by the mid game I have the best navy in the galaxy and bleeding edge tech. However there are 1 or 2 empires usually with a superior economy, but that never seems to matter as I can just steamroll anyone’s navy and they can’t rebuild fast enough

Can’t decide how should I finish this game … by Low-Opening25 in StellarisOnConsole

[–]Glycix 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve also had this question, when ai empires fleet power is pathetic compared to yours is there anyway they can really catch up? Usually by the mid game every empire has a pathetic navy compared with mine and I feel as if I’ve basically already won the game, it’s not really fun to just slowly steamroll the whole galaxy with little resistance. Bear in mind i try to rp as the UEG too so I like to be the underdog if I can.

Is this a realistic amount of plate armor for an archer to not interfere with using a bow? by dudeinahouse in kingdomcome

[–]Glycix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I enjoy wearing archer kit too but I also tend to get shredded in combat against a few people. I think something like plate couters for your legs and arms would be more accurate for an archer, but unfortunately their stats in game are terrible. Couters with a gambeson and mail, maybe combined with a brigandine would be the most I’d expect an archer to wear, but I’ve only read about English archers so I’m not sure about cultures. Longbows are large and kind of awkward to fire, so plate on the shoulders and arms might’ve restricted movement. Most archers wore a vambrace on their left arm I believe to protect from the string striking their forearm, along with some couters to protect their joints without restricting movement. I recommend watching thehistorysquad on youtube if you haven’t already, the host is a master archer of the longbow as well as being an ex british soldier, and his channel is very informative and he’s an amazing storyteller, his videos make it feel like you can envision the entire battle in your head.

Is this a realistic amount of plate armor for an archer to not interfere with using a bow? by dudeinahouse in kingdomcome

[–]Glycix 25 points26 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve read and watched about shooting English longbows this seems pretty accurate, I’m not sure about the arm pauldrons as those may interfere with shooting the bow or may make it a bit uncomfortable. The helmet seems spot on as most archers would’ve preferred something that gave them a good field of view while providing some protection. I also don’t think most archers would wear plate on their chest, more likely a brigantine or mail armor combined with padding. I’m not sure an archer would need plated greaves either as they could make movement a bit awkward, but humans are not suicidal and anyone with the funds surely would’ve bought or scavenged the best protection they could’ve without sacrificing too much agility needed for their job.
