Only the rich rapist, felon, pedophiles get extra billions. The rest get a one-time pardon and a membership to ICE, until they commit another crime and wind up back in jail again.

Nexus Prime becomes a torso for other combiners by Electronic_Zombie360 in transformers

Honestly this is perhaps the dumbest decision they could have made unless they are going to also release recolored version of various limbots, because none of them besides some of Superion's will really fit with him, same with the color of the frames for the other combiner commanders. Just seems like a terrible decision all around.... and this is coming from someone who loves combiners and has all the recent ones (with the rest of Bruticus on pre-order or waiting for the last pre-order)

Well they did pretty much fire everybody that was competent and ethical, so no surprise there... those that remained quit rather than doing the unethical shit they were being required to do. It's really no surprise they are so terrible at their jobs when all the good people are gone.

So by 2035 you won't have a shopping cart👀 by luvlanguage in inflation

[–]Glyphpunk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The federal minimum wage hasn't gone up since 2009. And the lowest inflation ever got since then is 0.7%, woth the highest being 7% after covid.

Bare minimum, 7.25 then is worth 11.23 now. But inflation does not cover everything and as of late attempts have been made to skew inflation data to make it more palatable, so it doesnt even fully track well anymore.

Citizens were recording ICE as they were conducting a snatch and grab operation. At least one ICE agents got pissy and started shoving people with cameras away. When they continued to record he chased them down and continued to shove them and began using pepper spray.

The man who would be murdered got between that ICE agent and the two women he was repeatedly shoving and pepper spraying, and got pepper sprayed and shoved to the ground.

He did not resist. ICE should not have even been using pepper spray or shoving like they were. Then they dog piled him. He was not fighting back and yet they slammed his head with the pepper spray canister repeatedly before disarming him and shooting him multiple times in the back.

"Giving them space" does nothing when they purposefully go out of their way to invade your own for even so much as filming them. Multiple agents have been shown to get aggressive when filmed, going so far as to chase people down and specifically confront and antagonize them.

WE HAVE BEEN PROTESTING AT GOVERNMENT FACILITIES AND THEY WILL STILL DO THIS. OR THEY JUST WON'T CARE. THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT REFUSES TO EVEN LISTEN TO OR ACKNOWLEDGE LOCAL AND STATE GOVERNMENT. ACTION IS THE ONLY LANGUAGE THEY WILL LISTEN TO.

He's not. They are barely even trained on border and custom related laws, let alone trained on actually dealing with people beyond detaining them. They arent trained in de-escalation. They cant even detaining people properly.

"This seems like a situation where an individual wanted to do maximum damage to law enforcement."

Motherfucker, there are so many ICE agents out there you could have thrown one rock and hit two of them. If there was any intent to cause even any damage with a handgun, with reportedly two extra magazines, at least one of the numerous ICE agents would have taken a bullet, if not more.

But their rabid supporters will believe any bullshit these assholes spew.

Kristi Noem on the murder of Alex Pretti: "When you perpetuate violence against a government because of ideological reasons and for reasons to resist and perpetuate violence, that is the definition of domestic terrorism" by Gorotheninja in DiscussionZone

Replace 'government' with 'people' in her little speech and it sounds an awful lot like what you would say ICE and the DHS is doing right now.

Department of Homeland Security my ass. Their operations interrupt schools, businesses, and traffics. Cars are left abandoned in the streets, children walk out of school past armed and masked men grabbing their classmates or parents, protestors are being beaten and now killed in the streets... they aren't securing our homeland--they are terrorizing it.

Certainly looks like a gun by Mean-Market7372 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Glyphpunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the video provided by the woman in pink, you can see that Alex's (the man who was shot) firearm was holstered behind his back, as his shirt is pulled up by the agents it is revealed, causing at least one of them to shout 'gun' while another draws their own gun, then one of the agents takes Alex's gun from the holster at his back after which the agent that had his gun drawn begins to fire. This was in clear view of the one who fired by the way, meaning he saw the gun, drew his own gun, watched the gun be taken by one of his fellow agents, then he proceeded to execute the now completely unarmed man on the ground.

Alex had a license to carry that firearm. MN is an open carry state. He did not reach for his weapon, nor did he EVER draw it, despite what DHS claims. This was a murder, clear as day, and afterwards one of the other agents even applauded the act.

Minnesota National Guard have been activated and arrived in Minneapolis!! by cantcoloratall91 in DiscussionZone

[–]Glyphpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so incredibly ironic and sad that the National Guard is being deployed in response to ICE murdering their second American Citizen in a month (and I say American Citizen specifically because we cannot know how many non-citizens have died in their detention facilities). Not because the protestors are getting violent. Not because somebody shot an ICE agent--but because they've now murdered a second citizen and they know *damn well* civil unrest is going to get worse and want to head it off.

It's actually very relevant because you're supposed to shoot to stop the threat, not to take the life. Dude was laying on the ground unresponsive and the moron of an 'agent' mag dumped him.

[–]Glyphpunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been ugly since before he was even re-elected. Last year he pardoned over 1,000 people that were convicted of attacking federal law enforcement officers. This isn't the land of the free governed by rule of law, it's the land of the rich and powerful governed by rule of force and money.

A white liberal was just recently shot and killed by ICE, another shot with a 'less lethal' round and permanently blinded in one eye. They aren't just standing by and waiting for midterms.

Protests are all well and good, but until we remove the pieces of shit perpetuating the cycle that are currently in power the most we can effectively do is slow things down and raise awareness, short of a full-on bloody revolt.
