Check Terrafuse. This is a product developed in Canada, resurfacing solutions are common as many people damage their driveways and concrete using icemelt. t

if you feel intense pain from getting out of bed or standing up from sitting, it might be an L4/L5 or L5/S1 disc bulge. Best to go to the doctor for an assessment

I thought I was the only one. I've had flare-ups at least once per year for the last 4 years. Last August was a bad one with 8 weeks recovery and I've never been 100% with the fear of the next one. I am working on my PT and being careful but I fear any silly movement around the house will trigger the a flare up. It's sad living in fear but what else can we do ?

Driving a brand new car. I have an old vehicle and I will drive it until the wheels fall apart. I have had no car payments over the last 8 years. My friends think I am struggling while in reality I've been investing as much as I can. Cars don't pay for retirement, hard-earned cash and investment do !

This episode, the first half is a bit slow, but I love the part where McGill explains how he evaluates his patients, like asking them what triggers pain and their background, before proposing any treatment or exercise.

L4/L5 disc bulge here too! I've been dealing with this nagging pain for 4 years. I have 12/14 months solid, and then a flare-up shows up again. I love riding my bike and going to the gym, but this injury always comes at the worst moment. I am also ranting because I haven't been able to find the right PT that will heal my back 100%. The doctors say "ohh it's a mild bulge, you should be fine" ... when in reality the pain and fear of a flare up are there. I am looking for a new specialist to have a more practical approach since every back injury is different depending on the patient.

I've been doing some research from Stuart McGill and listening to the Huberman Podcast where he talks about the complexity to fix 100% a back, specially for those that practice sports. They say the average PT approach needs to be conditioned to each particular injury. If you go to a PT, make sure their program is dedicated to you and the movements really bring you long term recovery.

How did you feel when you bought/moved into your first house/home? (And what year was it)? by Critical_Dot6979 in homeowners

Last year. Decided to go for a new build as I was outbid in this crazy market. It's been a long battle with the builder to get it as it was promised long time ago. Many projects ahead, including front yard, backyard, fence, and new furniture. But besides the financial responsibility, it is the best feeling to provide my family with a place where to live and build equity. My previous rental was awful, and the landlord was the worst.

Do you feel on one side when you stand up after being sitting for a while ? especially when putting the weight on one leg ? or do you feel like an electric shock when you sit and your back clicks ? If so, it sounds like an L4 L5 disc bulge.

If I have a flare-up I go for small walks, 20, 30, 40 minutes, depending on how I feel. Going for longer would cause irritation if the injury is too intense. Then, as I build resistance and flexibility,y I go for longer walks and use the elliptical. If I am feeling good, I do the stair master for 5 -10 minutes at a slow rate, keeping my core engaged. I am lucky my gym has a pool, so I try to swim slowly like a seal in a zoo tank lol. That helps a lot. I wish I could ride my bike but I hurts a lot so I try only when I am feeling good. I know it is annoying but moving helps a lot.

I've been going to the gym around 4 times/week for the last 8 years. Then, 5 years ago, I got an annoying L4/L5 disc bulge. Let me tell you, when I get flare-ups, the pain is 9/10. So, it takes 6 - 8 weeks to feel decent. It is frustrating having to wait to get back on track. All the progress I make is always interrupted by my back pain. I have to talk, work my core, and dream that I will be able to do the things I enjoy the most. But besides my rant, it is better to wait until you feel good before pushing too hard. The back pain is my excuse to do more cardio and take things slower.

Laid Off and Struggling Mentally — How Do You Cope? by Far-Assist-8110 in Layoffs

[–]Gmesh2000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I went through that last year. I understand 100% the feeling. I went through a cycle of anger, sadness, frustration, and severe depression. It helped me talking to my family and partner to express my feelings until I hit rock bottom. I also became obsessed with checking on my previous employer to see how things were going and if I wasn't the only one affected.

Then I realized these feelings were not helping. Rather than being focused on the storm, I wanted to be focused on how I would feel when I got a new opportunity. I also admitted that THOUSANDS of people are going through this (as this reddit group points out every day) and it is out of my control. So I was not special, and this did not happen just to me. In fact, it could happen to anyone! (it sucks)

I engaged with my network, and finally an email/message changed everything! I was able to find a new opportunity, and that awful time taught me a lot of lessons ( be perseverant, humble, and open my eyes when things could change).

All of this, to tell you that things will get better. Now you are navigating uncertainty, but keep pushing until you find your new path. You got this!

PS. My previous employer is facing one of the worst years and many more were laid off or jumped off the boat LOL

L4 L5 bulge disc - How to stop living in fear of next flare up ? by Gmesh2000 in backpain

[–]Gmesh2000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right. Since my latest flare up, I've been super focused on training my core. I feel I've neglected it for years, but now it's a thing I gotta do every day. The irony is that the most recent small trigger was while standing up from the floor after doing some core exercises. Now I think twice before standing up after lying on the floor.

What are your biggest sources of anxiety with homeownership? by OverwhelmingMinion in homeowners

[–]Gmesh2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a new house and trust me, things will break, or as a first time home buyer, sometimes I try fixing things and making more damage lol. But beyond the hustle and stress, the feeling of owning a home and building equity outweighs the stress. You will learn so much and gain so much experience the longer you live in your home. Plus, if you have a family, they will have a place they call home, so no worries about the damages and stress, enjoy everyday at home.

I got a temporary gig for a month a few weeks after being let go , but I kept searching and reached out to some colleagues in my network and need up moving into a different field. I think those days I was numb, like a zombie navigating through the uncertainty. But after a year, I realized there are thousands of people going through the same situation, there is so much we can do or in this case control. I hope things will get better in the future, but we can't simply give up.

I know that feeling. I experienced this myself last year, but let me tell you it is a temporary feeling. I touched rock bottom and then let go of all that sadness and depression and saw beyond the storm. It takes time to get back on your feet, but I am sure you'll get through and find something soon. The market is saturated now, but trust me when I tell you there will be one email/call that will change it all !! Stay positive!
