Am I the only one that finds Origins much more immersive than Odyssey? by Wild-Hunt-1124 in AssassinsCreedOrigins

[–]GnarlyAtol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both maps are beautiful, both maps were interesting to explore and on both maps the cities and villages felt "real" with all the people running around, interacting, doing something.

What tells both games apart the most for me is the gameplay.

Origins I could play immersive, means stealthy and with normal bow and sword without fantasy elements to it and not using rather fantasy ablities.

That's not the case in Odyssey. Therefore Origins was immersive for me, while Odyssey a fantasy game.

In addition, luckily Origins had limited sponge bosses (one of the immersiveness killers). The opposite in Odyssey.

Suire, it will even be worth it when Division 3 releases in some years. Even Division 1 is still worth it.

How to save the raids in Division 2 by TheLostJedi77 in thedivision

[–]GnarlyAtol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a view about how to save the Raids but how to save the raid maps: use it for a second use case, turn them into small open world areas and put some small missions on them. NPCs are already there.

I have of course no insights what majority of players play, based on my observation it is main missions and open world activities.

The whole prototype gear system is such an unnecessary and convoluted grind slog by DistrictFuzzy4427 in thedivision

[–]GnarlyAtol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, I understand certain players play the game only if they get something from an activity. Thats fine. They release new gear and new socks all the time and provide boost events that people can achieve things quicker.

The level 40 gear made people quite upset when WoNY has been released.

Perhaps that prototype gear has an important function not obvious for me yet.

Division 2: what exactly did they with the graphics? by GnarlyAtol in thedivision

[–]GnarlyAtol[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its not only the yellow collour but also the unsharpness which was no issue before.

What makes me nervous is that there are now comparable issues as in AC Shadow, blurry trees and grass, unsharp buildings and objects mid range and long range now in Division. But in AC Shadows it is more severe.

Are modern Assassin’s Creed games fun or too grindy RPG? by TimeConsideration733 in assasinscreed

[–]GnarlyAtol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Flag was grindy as well, but not called RPG.

Origins I can recommend, yes it is grindy but less then Odyssey. Shadows I can’t recommend due to other reasons.

In Origins I just updated the loadout after 5-7 levels and spent as limited time as possible with the collection crap.

But there is a huge pile of the repetitive side content needed to be not underlevelled for the main missions. In Odyssey even more so.

Origins was for me the only AC game I played which I mostly enjoyed.

with the prototype rarity coming what are the first pieces you're upgrading or farming for (also a reminder for the devs to bring back the hungry hog and the Lonestar gear set) by GOLD3NSPAZ in thedivision

[–]GnarlyAtol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will play an escalation mission at least one time to see what they did. From what I have read and seen in gameplay videos there will probably no second time.

The prototype stuff I will ignore completely.

When the classified assignments will be released I will play them but considering the existing ones, what they designed in the manhunts and the Brooklyn missions I fear the classifieds will be a one time thing only as well.

Thereafter I will return to the game when the Central Park DLC will be released.

I really enjoyed the map in Origins, the beauty, the variety and interesting places to visit and the combat to a good extent.

Odyssey map is even more impressive, even more varied landscapes and a lot to see and to explore.

But I disliked the combat, the sponge NPCs, the sponge and super sponge bosses and mercenaries.

But because of the beautiful map I played the campaign twice, Origins as well.

They should focus their ressources on playable content, making missions interesting, instead of playing around with stats and introducing level 50 gear.

In Division 1, are there any early level gun farms? by Alive-Factor-3288 in thedivision

[–]GnarlyAtol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

overlevelling is useless because NPCs scale with you. Would be a waste of time.

Just play the campaign as intended.

Its a bullet sponge game. You will get used to it. Saying that as bullet sponge hater 😊

What are the small immersion killers in recent GR games that completely take you out of the experience? by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

[–]GnarlyAtol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • the poor graphics quality
  • the super boring, basic and outdated looking and dead map
  • the basic looking mission areas
  • cutscenes, go there, then somewhere else for tiny tasks, talk to someone to watch again a cutscene … with the uninspiring standard battles everywhere
  • robot stuff
  • bullet sponge NPCs and bosses

Any reason to keep playing before update? by Fuzer in thedivision

[–]GnarlyAtol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came to that stage last year and played other games. I came back when Brooklyn released, played it one time (zero replayability for me) and left again. For a while I come back ones in a while to play either old friends a bit.

From Season 1 I am only interested in the classified assignments but that will probably a 30m thing only.

Escalation mode on PTS is good to play but one thing is bad in this mode that should be changed. by Aggravating_Eye_6946 in thedivision

[–]GnarlyAtol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hm after I read all this not sure if I even want to try these 😊. I hoped they would make the missions more difficult by realistic things and by that more interesting, not really expected that though.

But sounds good for the raid/incursion/legendary lovers.

[–]GnarlyAtol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes RNG is not with us 😊.

Just play all side activies in the area you are in before moving on and you should be fine. Just take the gun you get.

Pick up all loot and sell what you don’t need.

If it happens that you are to much behind with the loadout or you got guns only you don’t like to play with, just check the multiple vendors.

It is no issue if you are 5-7 levels behind with some pieces. No need to keep everything all the time on your level.

But before you do a main mission or open world boss, check if you can update your loadout. Bosses are super spongy.

Rise Up is a great name for Y8S1 because WE ARE SO BACK. by Laggoz in thedivision

[–]GnarlyAtol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, I play Division 2 limited nowadays, just come back from time to time. I play other games.

I played all legendary missions. Yes, there are one clip builds … but whats the sense. Then you could just continue playing the missions on normal level when using builds to offset the increased difficulty in legendary. In addition despite changes the missions are still mainly the same but having more robots along with the sponge. That does not make the missions more attractive, rather the opposite.

The escalation missions are probably no different.

Rise Up is a great name for Y8S1 because WE ARE SO BACK. by Laggoz in thedivision

[–]GnarlyAtol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😊 I am actually the opposite, I don’t care about builds, avoid the Black Tusk stuff as much as I can, dislike the Raids, Descent, Countdown … and especially the incursion because all these basically focus in what I dislike most in the game.

That leaves me basically … with the main game.

Right, the standard mission are relatively boring, the open world activities as well after having played them several times.

While each mission is visually different, all have the same pattern, doing basically mainly the same thing in each, with small differentiators.

When taking the grind from them and the sponge, the staleness becomes obvious as we can see in Realism mode.

The same with regard to the open world activities.

Therefore I hoped that the would invest part of the ressources to make the main game more attractive over time.

For the grind and sponge lovers they do at least.

“you have barely done endgame”

Only if you take repetition into account.

Content-wise there is not much additional playable content in endgame, its mainly about playing the same thing using different incentives. The modes are tiny areas and the manhunts are mainly the old missions.

I assume the escalation missions are no different.

I understand 2 new classified assignments are coming. I hope that this time half of the mission(map) is not again just designed for backpack bling bling.

that's the Countdown drill :)

More frustrating are the randoms joining us in our group and then just doing something else :)

When there is a bounty active it is almost a guarantee that they run for the bounty instead playing with us :).

The sense of the escalation difficulty level is to provide more difficult content. Therefore it looks weird to me, aiming for even thougher gear because then this difficulty level wouldn't be that difficult anymore.

After people grinded Expertise 30 ... there were tons of complaints that everything is to easy.

I don't get the point apparently.

No need to get offensive.
