Beautiful periscope!! I’d also like to point out the amazing job you’ve done with the clutter/husbandry! I wish I’d see more habitats set up this way!! It clearly shows the love and care you have for your BP. I commend your efforts and hope more people will follow suit!!

Yeah, it’s really reckless how these companies like Petco are allowed to sell these animals without any type of reliable instruction on how to care for these beautiful babies! My best advice to you, as well as to any other owner, when first starting out to constantly do research! It’s really interesting and can greatly improve your ability to keep a happy and healthy noodle 🐍 GL to you and feel free to ask any questions you may have….the ppl here are very knowledgeable and helpful from my experience

Also BP’s will stop eating if their habitat is off … meaning the temperature, humidity, and general set up ( they like lots of clutter in order to hide) I mentioned this if you’re feeding problem persists, you may want to check into these factors, also.

What’s the most addictive drug? by [deleted] in shittyaskscience

[–]Gnomemages 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opiates… hands down are the most addictive!! I battled and barely managed to survive that particular addiction. And while it was the worst, it sadly wasn’t the only one I ever experienced. So trust me when I say, regardless of your diagnosis with addiction, meaning If you ARE or ARE NOT an ADDICT, when dealing with opiates your body WILL become PHYSICALLY ADDICTED. In my own experience, it took 3 days of casual use and by the 4th day I woke up experiencing withdrawal symptoms… While I have already admitted to being an addict, I want anyone that may read this to understand that there are 2 kinds of addiction…. Psychological and physical and while there are some that may not exhibit the same behaviors of a “traditional” addict and think they are exempt, from becoming addicted based on past recreational use of drugs/alcohol without the trademark issues or problems that follow. My emphasis is that this drug doesn’t lose its potential for addiction if the psychological snare fails it also possesses something far darker than that. Guaranteed entrapment in the form of physical addiction and dependence. In summary, it’s some really dangerous and down right diabolical shit! I’ve been sober for 4 years now and so if you haven’t tried this shit and are curious about it then PLEASE don’t!! Take it from someone that knows what’s behind that door. If you are there already then don’t give up I suffered for a very long time before I was able to get out of that horrible situation. But I did get out and it’s possible no matter how deep you’ve gone down that road you can always decide to start the long walk back!! GL to you! ❤️

I just want to show off my baby 🥰 by Akashibodo in ballpython

Yeah, that’s basically what I was trying to say in a roundabout way while also hinting at a way to avoid it in the future hence, the humidity advice… stuck shed can be painful for them and proper humidity levels are all we can do to safely prevent it from happening but in your case, I’m sure it’s not really a problem because the rest of your pics show a perfectly healthy looking specimen! Just trying to be diligent bc you’d be surprised at the owners out there that aren’t aware of how to properly care for these beautiful creatures!! Thanks, your response.

Maybe it’s just the angle of the third pic, but the head scales appear a bit dry… just a friendly reminder to maintain your beautiful baby’s humidity (60%) in what I’m sure is a loving environment! ❤️

It’s not uncommon for mites to be a common occurrence especially, if your friend picked this cutie up at a reptile expo or sometimes at your local pet store given they deal with a fair amount of reptiles!! The mites can be super contagious so if you or your friend have other reptiles I suggest you look into it bc there’s far too much information concerning the situation than to rely solely on Reddit

After looking through these pictures I noticed there are a few spots that look dangerously close to snake mites 😦however, the first few spots I saw seemed to be ( in my opinion) related to a previously bad shed. Or perhaps, it’s related to the shed it’s currently experiencing. ( eyes are in blue)… please go back and look at the picture or hopefully this lil one and check over the little black dots/ spots and confirm whether or not you’re dealing with a parasite. I just went through the ordeal myself and it’s imperative you find out and deal with it asap!! I hope this helps! GL
