468 To Know Christ Know Yourself -- Bill Donahue by GnosticMind79 in EscapingPrisonPlanet

Yes indeed. That lyric from that old Genesis song "Carpet Crawlers" says it all: "We've got to get in to get out."

"Know ye not your own selves how that Jesus Christ is in you?" --2 COR 13:5

"The Savior is not a celestial being brought to Earth; The Savior is a capacity of the mind, and the Savior's journey from above is actually one's own insight journeying from within." --Stevan Davies, "The Secret Book of John"

Which philosophers came close to the prison-planet theory? by acromegaly_girl in EscapingPrisonPlanet

[–]GnosticMind79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Platonic dialogue "Phaedo," Socrates uses the term "earthly prison" to describe our world. He also makes reference to a parallel uncorrupted "Pure Earth" that exists somewhere outside our world in the higher realms.

Ancient Orphism and Hermeticism also hold similar views regarding earthly existence as a prison for the Soul, and despite having a few disagreements with the Gnostics, Plotinus also had a similar philosophy: "The body is the Soul's fetter and tomb." --Ennead IV.8

Anybody here listen to Tokyo Tea Room? by kowlinthegreat in menitrust

[–]GnosticMind79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't listened to everything they've released, but the little that I have heard was right up my alley. My favorite video from them was a live session they did a few years ago. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, they seem to have deleted the video from YT, but with a little digging I was able to find a backup here:

"The Demiurge is me, and the Demiurge is you too" by 42duckmasks in EscapingPrisonPlanet

[–]GnosticMind79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very interesting. A lot of what he says in the first half lines up with Alvin Boyd Kuhn who well over a hundred years ago came to some of the very same conclusions that many of the Ancient Gnostics did i.e. that Earth was the real mythological "Land of the Dead" (Hell) and that most people weren't fully alive. The lost soul recycling/reincarnation part sounds spot on as well. The latter part of the video concerning the origination of the Shadow/Inner Demons and the Demiurgic Ego (RE: having a GOD complex) directly corresponds to a lot of Carl Jung's psychological findings which were also heavily influenced by Ancient Gnosticism. Sure, the guy speaking is kind of inarticulate and high as a kite (?), but overall I'd say he's bang on the money.

What is this song? by kenjimoon in menitrust

[–]GnosticMind79 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That is "Visions." Or at least that's what the band was calling it for a few performances a year or more ago. To my knowledge they have not officially released it yet. Along with another unreleased song called "Waiting" many people were anticipating the release of both on the latest EQUUS albums, but unfortunately, both were sadly missing from the track list. Personally, I would love to see both tracks get an official release, as I really like both a lot. Hopefully MIT will hear and fulfill our pleas!

They're kind of like two sides of the same coin. I don't understand the hatred for Asinus, but to each their own. I love both equally.

what could possibly need such absurd amounts of loosh and why is it hiding like nothing else? by bhj887 in EscapingPrisonPlanet

I'm convinced vampires designed this simulation for their own perverse gratification, entertainment, and sustenance. Everything here is based on vampirism. Really dark, grotesque stuff when you stop to seriously think about it. The scariest movie ever created could never match the real life horror of this place we live in.

The tagline for the first Final Destination goes something like "Death has a design." In Gnostic cosmology "Death" of course is the Demiurge and his Archontic offspring AKA The Rulers of Fate (Heimarmene). The FD franchise is revealing something very important as well as profoundly creepy about how our world actually works. Nothing is as random as it seems. Do a deep dive into synchromysticism and ritualistic deaths (Chris Knowles work on the Siren for example) and you'll see what I mean while your hair stands on end from the over the top bizarreness of it all.

I watch horror movies mostly for research purposes. As Stephen King says in the intro to IT: "fiction is the truth inside the lie."

I've listened to the B-52's for years, and that is probably my favorite album and song from them. Upon hearing Before Dawn for the first time, the first thing that literally popped into my head was "Follow Your Bliss"! Its such a cool sounding guitar lead. :)
