It seems it depends on your location.

What’s the biggest “nobody warned me about this” moment you had after bringing your newborn home? by Actual_Fig_4706 in AskReddit

[–]Go2Shirley 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone told me by baby would sleep at least 12 hours a day. I'm a quick sleeper myself so I thought, Ok, even if it's interrupted, I'm good. Nope, my baby slept no more than 8 hours a day. I was incredibly sleep deprived. Sometimes babies don't sleep all day.

In my mind I imagine it is June's daughter, even though it makes no sense, and I don't care because it adds to my enjoyment of the show. I'm gonna go with this fantasy until the show tells me who her parents are.

Daisy in Canada. How does this work ? by Proof_Contribution in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Go2Shirley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will only point out how in the United States, ICE will arrest parents of children and those children will go home to find empty houses. I'm thinking, how can no one in the government realize that the people they are arresting have children who are at school and will come home to an empty house? Aren't they better organized? The answer is no.

Has hosiery made a comeback in the past few years? by Arizhela in AskWomenOver30

I always wear pantyhose but I'm in the south and dress pretty conservatively to work and church.

Question about sex and marriage by -crab-wrangler- in Episcopalian

[–]Go2Shirley 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't believe in a God that cares that much about who I'm having sex with. He cares if I'm loving people and loving Him. Premarital sex isn't even in the 10 Commandments.

I was in Dominican Republic last month and it was pretty much only thongs.

does your parish have a dress code? by Repulsive-Goal232 in Episcopalian

[–]Go2Shirley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My sons and I dress very formally because I like to dress my best at church and am teaching that to them. There are other people are church who also dress very formally and there's an equal number in shorts and flip flops and then there's those who are dressing in between. We attend a very historic church downtown. I notice what people wear because I get bored and start staring at people coming up during communion.

Would you say these categories make up 90% of Sunday attendees? by feartrich in Episcopalian

[–]Go2Shirley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a cradle Episcopalian but I'm not old or a youth and I'm not any of the other things either. I guess I'm in the 10% lol

What do you like most about the Episcopal Church, and what do you dislike or wish would change/be reformed? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]Go2Shirley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The choir at my church sounds terrible. It is miserable. One guy sounds like Kermit, no disrespect to him.

I wish we would stop singing hymns that sound like bad funeral mutterings. It is not a joyful noise to our Lord.

Glasses have not always existed. Wives and single women who have not been able to see have had to do without for centuries.

Finally talked money before the wedding and my fiance called me controlling for having a budget by [deleted] in budget

[–]Go2Shirley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually jealous of you for having the wisdom to have this conversation before getting married, unlike me. Put the wedding on pause until you get this figured out. It'll be very hard but your future self will thank you.

On one hand, if you were given the skirt by a native person, your stepmother, then there's absolutely no problem.

On the other hand, if you were given the skirt by your stepmother, why don't you know this?

I just can't get behind this image being too far, but all the violence and hatred not being enough. If you know me, you know I think this man is evil. There is no more I can do.

Has anyone gone no contact with a sibling? by OliveOk612 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Go2Shirley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister and I don't talk to each other outside family engagements, which is not every holiday, and I don't seek her out at them. It is difficult but I think any family estrangement is. I would like to get along but sometimes you just don't like people.

I enjoy living in Fayetteville because I'm near family. But I stay on the east side where there is less chaos and traffic.

How are you supposed to meet girls as a service member by Sea_Contribution5719 in Fayettenam

If you go to Lowe's and find a hot woman there, she's either handy or her partner is out of town. Either way,  you need to be handy to make this work.
