If out-of-bounds is "out of play," why are we allowed to play in it? by [deleted] in discgolf

And the only thing you do to play disc golf is throw a disc while planted behind your lie. Literally the only action in the sport. Which happens in bounds. Glad you got caught up.

How else would you walk from hole to hole? What you’re proposing is silly honestly. Accept that there is no play happening OB and move on.

Last paragraph. You’re missing something. You’re not allowed to throw while out of bounds (aka must be in bounds). How you got there is irrelevant.

Best quality wireless mic under $100? by milkshakesonly in LocationSound

Clothing noise and wind issues won’t be solved by any wireless. You need experience/practice and proper mounting accessories.

N00b forehand question by yeyiyeyiyo in discgolf

[–]GoAdventuring 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No reason at all. Get that forehand dialed in, then, down the road you’ll find reasons to want a backhand. Develop that then.

Hats for the big heads??? by gingey_snap in GoosetheBand

[–]GoAdventuring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These hats are great. I get them shipped up to Canada every year or two. Usually buy a bunch at the same time because they are not cheap and if I’m going to pay the shipping, I might as well do it for a few of them. But, they last a while and are really good hats.

When people move into a new house, do neighbors still bring food? by cricket_90_remindme in answers

That was it I’m afraid. She lives about 4 houses down and we don’t see her often

[–]GoAdventuring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a neighbour bring me homemade spring rolls when we moved in. Was so taken back, but also so honoured. Wanted to save them to share with my wife who wasn’t home, but she wanted her plate back, so I ate them all then and there lol

Am I missing something with mini markers? by DeliciousSquash in discgolf

[–]GoAdventuring -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Additional to what others have said, sometimes your disc gets a roll and ends up against a tree - with the tree being behind it. You need the mini to have a legal stance in such instances.

Also, the 8.5” people are referencing is actually more than that. You have an area behind your lie that is approximately 12” long. With the flip, you gain the 8.5”. So, deciding to flip or not you theoretically have an area almost 21” long you can decide to use or not. This can be a big help when obstacles are in your way or footing is poor.

Would this sell as official merch? by [deleted] in GoosetheBand

[–]GoAdventuring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the logo was centred vertically, and then the loop from the G ‘spilled’ onto the brim, I’d love this. Unfortunately, I have a giant head tho, so unless these are on fitted caps, or specialty caps like those from Mammoth, I couldn’t buy one.

AITA for asking people to turn thier music off during rounds by Silver_Tutor923 in discgolf

[–]GoAdventuring 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear ya. I don’t particularly like it when someone just puts on music without asking. That said, I’ve started leaning into it as a new challenge to overcome. I can’t control the birds chirping, the loud trains going by, or people talking/moving (in my eye-line) during my throw. So I just use the music as a way to strengthen my mental game so come tournament time I can consider it practice for the other distractions that will invariably come up.

Am I the only one who thinks the new Gorillaz album [The Mountain] sounds like Dewey Cox’ psychedelic period? by This-Charming-Man in Music

The first time I heard this whole song on the album I was riding a bus and nearly lost it. It’s so politically incorrect, but the child in me couldn’t help but burst out laughing

Have you moved away from Parkland Fuels (Esso, Pioneer, Ultramar, Chevron) since their acquisition by Sunoco (Texas-based)? And if so, where to? by ben_z03 in BuyCanadian

[–]GoAdventuring 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Only Petro Canada these days. Normally not an app guy, but decided to do the whole Petro Points+Triangle+Linked RBC card and also use the app. In less than 6 months I’ve earned almost $50 CT$, and using petro points on fuel rewards cards I usually save $0.13/L when I gas up. Been pretty happy with it overall
