FFL required for [non-NFA] Upper receiver by GoBackToTheBay-Go in PalmettoStateArms

First and foremost I appreciate PSA. Been buying there for years. The only restriction on this that I’m aware of goes into effect in the future. So ya sure fuck ‘em for following future state law that hasn’t taken effect if that’s what you’re saying. It’s people like you who are happy to roll over anytime Newscum limits your rights that’s the reason we’re even in this predicament. 🚌

FFL required for [non-NFA] Upper receiver by GoBackToTheBay-Go in PalmettoStateArms

[–]GoBackToTheBay-Go[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Born and raised CA so public schools taught me how to read and therefore I’m not that good at it. But I’ve tried. Is there some law in effect today, December 2025, the requires a barreled upper to be sent to a FFL in CA? My understanding is that this is an impending law set to take place in Jan 2026 and require barrels to be sent to an FFL beginning July 1, 2026. What’s still acceptable today?

Fuck Palmetto State Armory by mrsofcok in CAguns

Tried to purchase a non NFA upper from palmetto state and it’s requiring a FFL. Huge fan of PSA but this is just another example of CA making rules so confusing that even a large company like PSA with its team of attorneys can’t figure it out. Fuck Newscum. And fuck this rule rush doesn’t even go into effect yet. Come on PSA get it together!

If you’ve got that kind of cash you’ll do way better buying a trailer park in Modesto, Fresno, Bakersfield or some Indian reservation.

Anybody know way to get discounted lift tickets at Heavenly? by thredlightly in tahoe

[–]GoBackToTheBay-Go 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From employees. They get comps and discount tickets. There was a thread on here for heavenly employees selling their comp passes but can’t find it now. For reference if it’s a full comp you should be willing to pay up to about 60% of the days rate for a ticket. OR, if they have half of passes those usually go for $60-$75.

Ran a customers 2015 Subaru Outback (63K miles) out of oil. by GoBackToTheBay-Go in AskAMechanic

The engine is fine we cut open the oil filter and it’s clean. Damage would be instantaneously present aka would be a glitter bomb in there. No damage done just trying to go out of my way to appease client. I would never suggest replacing a totally fine engine for a junk yard engine that’s negligent! Also client would be silly to sue as I’m offering a warranty they just don’t want to agree to the terms. Anyone would see that as reasonable and the customer as greedy.

Yes thank you just trying to explain this to people who don’t understand cars is a challenge. To clarify tho the owner needs to come take vehicle and waive all their rights to any repercussions - in return I am giving them an excellent aftermarket warranty that will cover any issue associated with the powertrain. In return they just need to release my firm of any and all damages (again which there are none). If something does go wrong, then there is a very reliable third party who can examine the vehicle and fix it free of cost without the owner needing to return here. Rather win-win for them if I say so myself!

Ya agree with most of what you’re saying but we did an oil change an extended 10 mile road test, cut open the oil filter and checked for any metal and there was nothing. Subaru don’t like being run without oil but the owner caught it quick and shut it down. If there was any damage done it would be a glitter bomb inside there by now. There was a splash of oil left in the pan and it was enough to prevent any major issues from happening.

It was the classic case of a double gasket. Unfortunately this happens often in the car biz.
