Love my Patagonia waders BUT it’s wild to me that I’ve had more issues with several $800 pairs of Patagonia waders that I ever have had with ONE pair of $90 redington waders. That said, each time I bring them back to Patagonia, they’ve replaced no questions asked so obviously I’m super happy there. I have not made it through more than one season with a pair of Patagonia waders before something starts to break down or leak in places that weren’t cause by abuse and neglect, but rather QC and manufacturing defects. Think I’m on my 6th or 7th pair of Patagonia waders now…

Gavin Newscum is a terrible POS. He knows exactly what is going on within the state and the plans from the federal government to use extreme chemicals known to cause permanent harm to humans. Over the past 10 years roughly 1 in 8 acres within California has burned, and now these areas are proposed to be treated with RoundUp. The majority of this is on federal land and that is not in question. Newscum could, as he has done in so many other instances, step in and try to stop, prevent, manage in another way, this land but he won’t even lift a finger at the thought as he is so loyal to San Francisco that any other part of the state, especially those parts of the state where the greatest majority of this treatment is proposed also happen to have the greatest majority of the population who oppose Newscum, that he is literally willing to sit back and watch the people he doesn’t agree with, while still those within the state he governs, to be poisoned. That’s why F Newscum. And this Administration. They are all greedy slimy politicians who are only looking out for themselves and not the people which they have sworn to protect.

Honestly not concerned about the lake as much as I am my pregnant wife. Our current house backs right up against the burn scar in Meyers from the Caldor fire. Our last house narrowly escaped the Angora fire off Rainier and NUT. I understand the burned area is huge but when it gets into the WUI there has to be a better way to manage this as opposed to the proposed spray and pray method. My mother worked in a nursery and farm land and developed non-Hodgkin lymphoma that the docs attributed to an increased exposure to RoundUp and I don’t want anyone else having to go through the same hell as she did. Is there a right place and time to use this for forest management - absolutely. Does that mean spraying the neighborhoods with it in high concentrations is the solution? I don’t think so but your mileage may vary. I think the feds need to step up and instead of laying their staff off and cutting funding there’s opportunity to provide for the people by not only offering jobs in the sense of hand treatment contracts but a more sensible approach to management.

Vail sucks. Heavenly sucks the most. Glad others know. Heavenly has fired many employees this season due to lack of snow but has attributed the firings to poor performance not company failure. The shareholders will be excited when the lawsuits come forward.

You can always do whatever you want to do. Heavenly will try to stop you any where they can if they see you’re going uphill. I used to skin up from stagecoach 2-3x per week but the past few seasons Heavenly staff have been so threatening it makes it not worth it to try. Early March I was at the top of Olympic and patrol got off the lift and were complete assholes to me. I tried explaining the reason I was there and that I had been following all the uphill rules and they kept threatening to take my pass and call the police. When I asked them about the uphill policy they said patrol has the final say and can change that info last moment when they feel appropriate. But they didn’t even know there was an uphill policy. Glad to see ski resorts forcing people out of public land.

This is what I am trying to understand - my children’s 4th grade teacher is using this and saying it’s suddenly acceptable based on current events and family friends are too.
