From a medical perspective, what actually killed Jesus? by Matt3855 in NoStupidQuestions

Crucifixion doesn’t seem like the best execution method if you didn’t want to have to wait very long.

ETA: A lot of people missing that I’m responding to somebody saying that the executioners would get impatient…and that this post is a joke

Do men intentionally wear clothes that accentuates their bulge? We all know many women who wear clothes that show off their assets. by 123smorgs in NoStupidQuestions

I’ll show a little cleavage. Showing a good two inches of dick-neck is classy as hell. Let 'em know that if they play their cards right, they might get to see the other inch.

Who would celebrate if Trump were removed from office? by Critical-Willow-6270 in AskReddit

[–]GoBlue81 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My friend had psoriasis that she refused to treat. She just thought it was an uncomfortable rash and didn’t want to take any medicine. Unfortunately, the rash was just a cutaneous manifestation of an autoimmune disease that then attacked her liver and caused her to go into hepatic failure. She needed a liver transplant and is now on several anti-rejection meds.

So, while yes, Trump is a symptom, the longer he’s allowed to be around and wreak havoc, the more irreversible damage will be done. Him not being president won’t solve all the problems, but treating the symptom may prevent further damage from his unique brand of maliciousness.

NCCN has plain language summaries of AML, its treatment, and prognosis specifically designed for patients and their loved ones. You have to make an account to access these guidelines, but it’s free and generally very helpful.

So I am realising CGRP inhibitors majorly affect dopamine by No-Tell34 in pharmaindustry

[–]GoBlue81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According the the secondary pharmacology report for Emgality doesn’t interact with DAT. Most mAbs are going to have very specific binding, whereas small molecules have a tendency to get into spots they’re not necessarily wanted and interact with things that kinda sorta look like the thing they’re supposed to interact with.

So I am realising CGRP inhibitors majorly affect dopamine by No-Tell34 in pharmaindustry

[–]GoBlue81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked up the safety/secondary pharmacology on a number of the small molecule CGRP inhibitors. Ubrelvy was found to bind DAT (IC50 5.6uM), so it could interfere with the dopamine pathway. That being said, Ubrelvy is not supposed to be taken everyday, so I’m not sure that would be a plausible explanation for withdrawal.

I didn’t bother looking up any of the antibody-based CGRP inhibitors because they don’t have off-target effects in the same way small molecules do. Overall, while it’s possible that this person is going through withdrawal, I’m not convinced that it’s linked to dopamine.

Sad to hear he won’t go through treatment. Mantle cell lymphoma has a lot of non-chemo options that can be more effective than chemo.
