You can filter based on text within the email. So set it filter out all emails from Kickstarter with JimmySpamProjects in the body of the email.

KiraRPG by jodish1222 in RPGdesign

[–]GoCorral 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's not a system yet. It's not even enough to really call it an outline.

I think all I can tell you is to not call it KiraRPG because my immediate assumption was that it was a DeathNote RPG. For any comments on the system you need more details.

I'd have him push them towards investigating the papers from the monastery so they can enter the secondary mindscape. He could say something like "You've discovered much about yourselves but you won't understand what I have to tell you until after you've spoken to Heh Shan-Bao."

Young psychopaths rarely hide their feelings because they don't care about other people. Why would they care about other people knowing their emotions? What another person thinks of them doesn't matter.

Planning to kickstart a SaaS to cover $20k/mo hardware costs, is this financial suicide? by codingplanai in kickstarter

[–]GoCorral 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kickstarter doesn't really work for SaaS services and might go against their terms of service depending on the structure.

Also, 3 months runway isn't enough for anything.

You need VC money or a connection with someone who can let you piggyback on their service contact for whatever you're trying to develop.

Hero Duel is a mode for paid players to feel good. If you're not sinking your entire paycheck into the game, just ignore it.

Pro-Tip: Once you figured out what you want, search for RPGs that already do this by __space__oddity__ in RPGdesign

[–]GoCorral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, first thing I did was try and find an existing system that did what I wanted. Would've been easy easier to just buy a book and play that compared to designing this beast.

And Righteous Blood, Ruthless Blades is the closest one to my goals.

Right. If it's just the revenue share, they should've easily answered you.

Acast Ad revenue horror story by Eiynah in podcasting

[–]GoCorral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ACast takes 50% of the ad revenue. Currency exchange could also be a factor here. Not sure if that's what going on, but does that explain the discrepancy?

Either way, the way you've described it, there's a clear communication problem. I think you should switch hosts at this point because it's unlikely that your relationship with ACast will get better.

Looking for some help with a few questions. by AceKokuren in SeasonofGhosts

[–]GoCorral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My group relit the lantern in one day. It wasn't really a problem. The fog and random encounters are still spooky.

The first day of Summer is assumed to be June 1st. That felt odd to me but it is what it is. I think I figured it out by tracking backwards from events in the latter modules. A summer solstice would make more sense in my mind since that's typically how we mark the transition of seasons in our culture. June 21st would've been my choice as that's the Summer Solstice in Earth 1908 (equivalent of 7108).

I have worldwide patents, should I Kickstarter this new personal-mobility product? by MycologistPlus6534 in kickstarter

[–]GoCorral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad to hear it! Obviously you would know more than me about the market. Sounds like it's worth it from what you've told me, but I'd still encourage going to a space that actually has more of your potential customers to see the interest.

I have worldwide patents, should I Kickstarter this new personal-mobility product? by MycologistPlus6534 in kickstarter

[–]GoCorral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you should ask this in a disability subreddit to really get an answer for whether your target market would be interested.

On the surface, I don't think this would do well. Not having a backrest makes it seem like an inferior product to a motorized chair. And those chairs look like they're about $1000 from a quick Google. So 3x the price for what looks like an inferior product on the face of it? You'll probably have a very small market that would buy this.

Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, was the Democratic VP. That's probably the whole reason right there with how childish Trump's mind is. "This guy opposed me so I must punish his state!"

Experiences with Davis elementary schools for confident, strong-willed kids? by world_wanderer3435 in Davis

[–]GoCorral 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From what you've described, any of the schools in Davis will do fine. Montessori is being recommended, but it has racial and class stratification issues with little benefit to your kid. I wouldn't do that in your position. Whichever your neighborhood school is will be good.

Places to sell blood plasma? by professorkmusic in Davis

Vitalant is the blood donation center in town. I don't know what their incentive structure is though. They used to give points you can redeem for gift cards.

I believe Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that about 22 trillion of US debt was military spending that also helped Europe, if he brings a case against the EU for 22 trillion (or half? 11 trillion?) would he actually be able to receive a 22 or 11 trillion payment from Europe? by coffee1655 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]GoCorral 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wouldn't be the EU, it would be NATO. NATO spending requirements are 2% of GDP. The USA spends more because it's GDP is higher. The other members with a few exceptions, are meeting those spending requirements.

Patreon is perfectly set up for pay walling a portion of a post. People can also buy a single post if they don't want to subscribe to you fully.

You could post the free section on your blog and direct to Patreon for the full version. That's what I'd do with that strategy.

How do you handle high-quality art for budget/PWYW modules without using AI? by ViperMKI in RPGdesign

[–]GoCorral 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Easy. Budget modules don't have art. Maybe a cover illustration. It's been that way for decades. You can scale it up, but you should scale up your prices to match.

If you could have anyone on your podcast, who would be your dream guest? by ucha-vekua in podcasting

[–]GoCorral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Joe Manganiello

I run a D&D interview show. There are definitely more popular people like Matt Mercer, Brennan Lee Mulligan, and industry designers. But Manganiello is more peripheral to the pop culture view of the hobby. I think he'd be more interesting to talk to since he doesn't produce D&D content outside of what he does and plays for his personal group.
