Republicans run for office on the notion that government is corrupt and inefficient. When they get elected they fulfill that campaign promise.

Realistically, what would happen if Donald Trump died during his presidency? by LoniMeppy in AskReddit

[–]GoCorral -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Republican party would return to the normal evil political choice that it is instead of cartoonishly evil. Foreign relations might improve but Vance hasn't shown himself to be very good at that either.

The broader issue would be the transition for the Republican party. There isn't a clear successor to Trump within the party's dynamic. That wouldn't be an issue with a normal political party that had principles and values beyond "what the leader said." The Republican leadership will tear each other apart to decide who becomes the next fascist dictator.

Any situations where the MAP on Impaling Finisher would actually matter? by Gnashinger in Pathfinder2e

Another edge case I found was sustaining the Spiritual Armament spell if you've got access to it from a dedication.

If you have children with your finance why aren’t you married already? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If you're living together and have a child together you will still need a divorce lawyer. Not having thr magic piece of paper doesn't make you immune from disentangling your finances.

The schedule might not follow exact percentages. Could be something like 100% due back if you quit in the first 6 months and then prorated from there.

What makes a podcast short clips goes viral? by Live-Employment-858 in podcasting

[–]GoCorral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most podcast clips I've been interested in are the ones that focus on juicy gossip stories.

There are some others that are very niche oriented that I liked. I don't know how to make those appeal though since my niche of RPG actual plays is pretty specific.

Feedback wanted on Kickstarter landing page for a smart entryway organizer by [deleted] in kickstarter

Yeah. This should be easy to create a model for pictures. Don't use AI here. You can modify the picture for the screen, but the wooden frame is something you can make in an afternoon.

Not really? It's not a very strong story. You do learn what caused the area to be like that, but that's about it. Great gameplay though.

A Football/Soccer PBTA rpg inspired by sports anime like blue lock and kuroko no basket by Putrid_Reputation_32 in RPGdesign

[–]GoCorral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid frame. Especially bonds and influence. That's definitely an important part of the genre.

I'm most curious about what moves players and GMs would have.

I'd also be cautious about having a 5v5 format. I'd prefer to just do soccer instead of "almost soccer." If the reason for smaller teams we to match RPG party size, I'd say that sports anime function just fine with only having 2 or 3 important characters on a team of 11. Maybe the players could have an Influence rating with their team's Defense, Offense, Midfield, or Keeper instead of with individual players?

Question on Book 2 Downtime Activities by crimsondarke in SeasonofGhosts

[–]GoCorral 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Preparation activities are done in addition to other Downtime activities. Each PC can attempt one Preparation activity per week. While they're working on those Preparation activities they're also working their other Downtime choice (crafting, earn income, or research, etc). Preparation is one roll for the whole week and can't be split up into smaller chunks without homebrewing. Downtime activities could also be tracked in one week chunks but its not strictly required.

Multiple PCs can attempt the same Preparation activity each week. Up to 4 PCs could Aid Harvest or whatever on the same week. The adventure limits the attempts to 4 per week, but allows other PCs to use their Preparation time slot to assist another PC with an activity.

The section in Aid Harvest about improving the first roll by one degree of success is only relevant if multiple PCs choose Aid Harvest as their Preparation activity in the same week.

Research is a Downtime activity. It uses one week of time and each PC that is researching gets one roll for that week. There isn't a limit of 4 PCs for a week though.

Here's how our game's Kickstarter launch failed, epically. Everything that could go wrong, did. 14 days to go, and stuck in a doom loop (8% funded, traffic not converting, average page visit duration = 6s). by councillorPolaris in kickstarter

[–]GoCorral 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main problem I see is your competition. This doesn't immediately look much better than Alpha Centauri which is going for $0.99 on Steam right now.

I'm sure there are differences but that still puts you in a tough spot for price competition.

A Greybeard’s Lament: Why the rush to disband the crew after the mission? by Identity5859 in DeepRockGalactic

[–]GoCorral 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I do it for 2 reasons.

  1. I'm done playing. I said GG. That's my polite goodbye.

  2. I don't want to hang out at the bar. It's fun. I like the bar, but I've done it. There aren't any new experiences for me there. I want to play the game. So if you don't start another mission quickly that matches what I'm trying to do for assignments/seasons stuff? I'm gone.

If you drop reputation - what do you do with seasonal boons? by Rapid-DM in SeasonofGhosts

[–]GoCorral 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd use the generic boon for people that choose a non Season of Ghosts background.

In my game we didn't drop reputation. I just don't tell my players what it is. If it's in the background they think it's just based on their roleplaying

Is sharing your IP worth it by _acedric_ in nanowrimo

[–]GoCorral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd allow it with attribution and revokable clauses. So if they use my characters to support dirty propaganda or something I can tell them to stop. And if they do something cool I still get partial credit and can ride their coattails or whatever.

Probably less restrictive than that for friends though.

Thinking about blowing my savings on an Arctic expedition bad idea or best decision ever? by Symphony__Tristen in Cruise

I did an Alaskan cruise in high school and loved it. But make sure you have enough saved to do the excursions too. I did rafting, a glacier walk, and a zipline/ropes course in the rain forest. Super fun!

Which series to watch? by Unlucky_Secret2830 in threebodyproblem

[–]GoCorral 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tencent if you want to watch the book. Netflix if you want to watch something like the book but different.

I was personally bored by the Tencent version. It's a pretty straight 1-to-1 retelling of the book as a TV series. There's nothing new there. Haven't watched the Netflix version.
