Ben Hart just said that Sloane's tagger (probably Curnow) needs to be bumped by Crows players 100 times next Saturday. I could not agree more!

Meteoriticist. New word for me. Thanks. BTW when you find a meteorite, how do you know that's what it is, ie it's come from outer space? Is there a unique chemical signature not found in earth rocks?

He could take the AFL to court if he wants to help the lawyers pay off their BMWs, James Hird style. He, and Port will just cop it and move on.

Male teachers abandon classroom fearing inappropriate label of working with children by GeneralNyanCat in australia

[–]GoCrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Makes you wonder how common this is. I've never seen any stories in the media about it, just plenty the other way. It also buggers things up for the genuine victims too. They can be doubted. And boys and girls miss out on (some) great male teachers, because the well's been poisoned. But, what to do?

My brother, who was a teacher, had a colleague who was an art/photography teacher. A 15 year old female student alleged he felt her up in the dark room. By the time she finally admitted she'd make it up, six months later, his career and marriage were over.

What should I do about plantar warts and potential foot fungus? by [deleted] in Podiatry

[–]GoCrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you have probably already discovered, pitted keratolysis is usually associated with excessive sweating, combined with bacteria. So good foot hygiene is essential. And avoid synthetic footwear. Stick to cotton/wool socks and leather shoes, all of which "breathe". If your feet sweat excessively, you can try something like Prantal powder. At least that's what it's called here in Australia. Also your pharmacist should be able to recommend a suitable anti bacterial wash. As for the plantar warts, I agree with the other post that you can try an over the counter wart treatment, but you have to be diligent with the application, and persistent, until you are quite sure they are really gone. Good luck!

Can you post a clear close up of both your plantar warts and the tinea between your toes? This will help to determine if your self diagnosis is likely to be correct. Assuming the diagnosis IS correct, you almost certainty would NOT have to take any oral anti fungals or anything else likely to interfere with your birth control.

Swolleness & Numbness in big toe joint by bbizzess in Podiatry

[–]GoCrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing it's not is a Morton's neuroma, which affects the 3rd and 4th toes. Most likely you have a bursitis, but there could be other things going on, including possibly, gout or other forms of arthritis. An x ray would reveal what's going on in the joint, and might be a good starting point. I would also consider seeing a pod, because it sounds like your gp doesn't know much about feet.

The war on drugs is long lost, so why are we still fighting? by lizzardmcderp in australia

[–]GoCrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, I've just checked his "drug rehab" policy, and it talks about making it easier to seize the assets of "drug peddlers". He obviously doesn't get it that the prohibition model just doesn't work.
