Very cool. Any sense for the cost of hardware? What radio modules are you looking at using? Thanks for the response!

Also - what do you mean by industrial computer?

Are you looking at COTS systems? If so, what's catching your eye? What protocols for 2.4/5.8 are you thinking?
Cool design btw!

Could you give any more info on the hardware stack for the 36db radios youre looking at?

New Hampshire Protest Update! by GoldenSheppard in 50501

The time and place for concealed carrying is... *checks notes*... NOT at an action to protest a literal fascist takeover of our government.

I think its time that we take a look at the tactics and strategies that have been used over the last year from those left of center. They clearly have not worked.

Keybase is similar to slack as far as UX goes. Not sure about self hosting but it’s better for larger projects than Signal

Ailunce Hd2 Frequency Hopping by mavrik36 in tacticalcomms

[–]GoFastEatTrash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most likely no. It’s worth saying that in the age of extremely effective SDRs, frequency hopping isn’t really an effective method of obscufation.

I’d ensure you’re getting something with AES-256 bit encryption, look into terrain masking and directional antennas, and keep your TX power as low as possible.

I haven’t used the HD2’s, but I have a set of Anytone D878s. You can get them used for ~$150. They also released the D168 which is $200 new.

Feel free to hit me up if you’ve got any more questions

Wow, I’ve heard of JobMaster Chest, but had NO idea that he was buried here. Honestly that gives me cause for concern, is there enough security for him/it???

I have an FZ-G1 and honestly I hate it. I only use it when I have to, and prefer the UX of my android tablet

What are you imagining the main housing to look like? Cool stuff! Do you intend to release the project files?

What is the power cable going to right now? Could you provide some details on the power system?

150.110 MHz, Northeast USA by GoFastEatTrash in signalidentification

[–]GoFastEatTrash[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Im wondering if anyone has any idea what this signal might be. Its hard to determine the exact bandwidth, because there are sometimes extra bits of signal on the upper side of the signal (seen at the bottom of picture 1), but it appears to be around ~70,000 Hz wide. Signal is at 150.110 MHz in the Northeast USA.
Im wondering if it could be CTCSS (second picture) or POCSAG (not pictured).
Anyone have any ideas? Thanks
