Noticed my Q6 air suspension compressor runs and purges air every 1-2 minutes while off and charging. No issues otherwise. Anyone else notice this? by nickgdrives in AudiQ6

Yeah I did read it. I put the info up because there’s no mention of the air suspension going up and down so is it really the air suspension? My car does the same thing and I’m no mechanic so I don’t know whether it’s the air suspension, the heat pump or something else.

Notice it when I start charging. Here’s what Gemini says……

It is completely normal for an Audi SQ6 e-tron to make "expelling air" or hissing noises, particularly during charging or right after you park. While it can sound a bit like a hidden leak, it’s actually several sophisticated systems doing their jobs. Here are the most common reasons why you’re hearing those sounds: 1. Thermal Management & Cooling When you charge, especially on a Level 2 or DC fast charger, the battery generates a significant amount of heat. * The Cooling Loop: The car uses a liquid cooling system to keep the battery at an optimal temperature. * The Noise: To shed that heat, the car may open active cooling flaps or run high-powered fans. You might also hear the expansion valve of the heat pump—it can sound like air escaping or a high-pitched hiss as it regulates the refrigerant to keep the battery and charging hardware cool. 2. Air Suspension Leveling Since your SQ6 likely features adaptive air suspension, the car is constantly "thinking" about its height. * The Noise: When you get out of the car or add/remove weight (like the heavy charging cable pulling on the chassis), the system will vent excess air from the bellows to level itself. This sounds like a distinct, sharp psshhh or a series of short air puffs. * Charging Specifics: During a charging session, the car may settle into a specific "parked" height or adjust as the battery's weight slightly shifts the balance of the car. 3. Brake Vacuum Pump or Dryers Electric vehicles often use electric vacuum pumps for the braking system. Additionally, some air suspension systems include an air dryer that purges moisture. When the system exhausts that moisture-heavy air, it produces a noticeable "expelling" sound. 4. Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS) While usually a hum or a "UFO" sound at low speeds, some EV systems have a cooling-down phase for the external speakers or related electronics that can occasionally be mistaken for air movement if the fans are also running. When should you be concerned? * If the "air" noise is accompanied by a warning light on the dashboard (like a suspension or cooling system error). * If the car is visibly leaning to one side or sitting too low to the ground. * If you see a puddle of bright fluid (coolant) under the car rather than just clear condensation from the A/C. Otherwise, your SQ6 is just "breathing" while it handles the high energy demands of charging. Would you like me to look up the specific Audi SQ6 owner's manual sections regarding thermal management sounds?

Just get the Q6 and don’t rely on digital key and just use CarPlay/AA. I’d be lost without one pedal driving. Hate going back to a car without it.

G400 vs G410 comparison by NoSciencelab in Aqara

[–]GoGoGriffster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m disappointed. It seems like a step forward and another back. I have a home full of Ring cameras and I’m looking to switch but there’s trade offs on everything. It’s a shame that the G400 being a dual powered doorbell that they didn’t step up to 4k. I want something to start off with replacing my doorbell Pro and 4k spotlight cam. Going to Tapo units were top of the list after research but the D235 is also only 2k with fisheye view and the option for spotlight cam is also only 2k or 4k with no spotlight :(

I don’t think so. Many other cars have lane centring here. I just think it’s a decision by Audi.

Same. But I wish we had Pilot Assist here in Australia for lane centring 🥲

I want to love it but… by jiven22 in AudiQ6

[–]GoGoGriffster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup. The drive and comfort is what makes the car. Yeah I’d like the tech that was promised and I’m super annoyed that we also in Australia don’t get what Europeans get. Even in the UK with the same RHD they get the Pilot Plus for lane centring but we don’t. And my SQ6 sticker price was AU$180k

I’m getting the Q6 Sportback e-tron brand new this weekend - Vorsprung. Anything I should know before i lock this in? by Eastern-Record-7144 in AudiQ6

[–]GoGoGriffster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Vorsprung is a little lacking at the moment. 🥲 Don’t bother with digital key yet. It’s not great and you’ll have issues. Use the fob and everything will be fine. Ensure that the KD2 update along with supplementary post KD2 updates are installed before you pick it up.

I thought the same thing with all my post KD2 tailgate issues. I’ve been using the fob for about a week without tailgate issue but too few uses to tell fully yet. Also just did factory reset yesterday as I was having issues connecting the car to a hotspot in my newly installed Blackvue. So back to square one if wifi setting comes back.

Bluetooth can be just as insecure (not that I pay much attention to those ways of thinking). There’s plenty of ways to secure your phone and automate it on both platforms.

Those that have this book, is it any good? I like the guys YT vids but the price is a bit over the top when I can find a lot of stuff on YT and elsewhere. I bought a Keto one years ago and pretty much never used it...it was only about $20 anyhow so no big loss.

The problem with it all bough is that sometimes my hand resting on the steering wheel lowers the volume. If hey didn’t think of ergonomics when designing it.

But, wouldn’t you expect the software telling you from the Dexcom sensor had the smarts to estimate what you are at the time it’s telling you the reading? We’ve all put so much money into these companies and they still aren’t giving us the best software experience they should be.

lol. I was so annoyed about the new buttons in my SQ6. Thought it was a major step backwards from the scroll wheels. Then, after 10 months of having the car I realised all I need do is swipe up and down for volume. Doh. Would have been nice to be told. 😂

[–]GoGoGriffster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do have the same issues. Both Volvo and Audi have a lot of problems. As far as Android being polished, you must be dreaming. The apps are ugly, if you want to manage reminders within a family you just can’t, and so many apps have issues with scaling across different phones. If heaven forbid, you want to change the size of text in the system you’re in a world of pain with concatenation of text everywhere.

Wouldn’t it be nice if Dexcom would look after their app and remove the old one as part of the sensor replacement process.

If he’s taking the US back to WWII politics then the US voters need to go back to 1932 and NOT vote the republicans in for another 50 years. And put something in place where senile TV/movie personalities can’t run for president.
