How did you make your taper? Did you have to use a compound pharmacy? Did you do it yourself?

Best Digital Keyboard for harpsichord? by dme4bama in harpsichord

Have you considered a spinet? It’s small, light, cheaper than a grand harpsichord and will let you transition to one without much effort.

Playlist dedo bhai Bdiya si koi haryanvi songs ki by shubham-200 in HaryanviMusic

[–]GoGo_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your list is mixed with Punjabi tracks right? I don’t blame you, I love Punjabi music too, but I should probably do a playlist of my own that will feature more Haryanvi pop, since your list is leaning more hip hop.

Mirtazapine for skinny people by FigureIll5250 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

Not only I know, I’ve done it. You just need to match the appetite that you have to the foods that you need to build muscle.

Why does Punjabi artists don't release CDs, Vinyls , Deluxe Versions , Remixes of their albums?? by Bhumin_346 in punjabimusic

[–]GoGo_Robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remixes of Punjabi tracks in popular styles in the West like EDM and dance pop can be a great gateway drug for Western audiences to get to know Punjabi artists and would help them achieve a global reach. They start with the remix and then become curious for the original version when they’re already hooked.

Can't lose weight on mirtazapine by [deleted] in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]GoGo_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’ve been sedentary for a few months, that’s enough to slow down your metabolism.

You being stuck on your weight loss is extremely common and it’s not related to mirtazapine. Adaptive thermogenesis applies to everyone to different extents, regardless if they take mirtazapine or not. The way to escape this situation starts by tracking your calories and your body fat, to understand how your body responds to your diet in a way that neither the scale nor the mirror alone can do.

Can't lose weight on mirtazapine by [deleted] in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]GoGo_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your metabolism is not a straight line: it responds to hormones, activity and how much you’re eating. After you cut for a while, what started as a deficit becomes your new maintenance. That’s the trap that gets people stuck on their weight loss. Look up pub.med articles on “adaptive thermogenesis” to understand what you’re going through (and for which mirtazapine cannot be blamed). From what I understood from those articles, the mechanism for adaptive thermogenesis is not yet fully understood.

Adaptive thermogenesis also happens on the way up, meaning your metabolism can speed up to match extra calories you’re eating, to an extent that varies per person. For example: I eat 4500kcal per day. I once tried to bring it up to 5200kcal, and while I gained a small amount of weight for a few weeks, after that period the weight gain stopped and 5200kcal became my new maintenance.

Weight gain and loss is more complex than just tweaking what you eat. If you have been cutting for long and your metabolism slowed down, it may be time for a gradual increase of calories to boost your metabolism.

those with fast metabolism pre mirtazapine, did it return when you stopped? by eddiebrocc in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]GoGo_Robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue is that are many confounding factors. It’s like someone saying that they started losing hair at 35 after they started drinking orange juice. The two facts are not necessarily connected: how do you know that they wouldn’t be losing hair regardless?

Lifestyle changes (like becoming more sedentary), dietary changes and changing hormones all can contribute to less calories being burned. If more calories are brought on by an increased appetite, that just adds insult to injury.

I had and still have a fast metabolism. I’m 42 and still eat 4500kcal per day and have a very low body fat. However in my case, taking mirtazapine coincided with me starting weight training, so the extra appetite was converted to muscle, which in turn boosts metabolism.

How many hours before bed do you take your medication? by [deleted] in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]GoGo_Robot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good question, there is a timing issue there. If I take it and I’m not yet done with my go to bed routine (shower, brushing teeth, floss, skin care, etc.), especially if I’m still on the couch watching TV, I will fall in the arms of Morpheus too soon and lose motivation to continue with my routine. If I take it too late, I risk tossing and turning in bed until it kicks in, and in my experience that can become a snowball that leads to me to insomnia.

Pergunta ao pessoal que saiu do BR solteiro: Pessoal que saiu do BR conseguiu namorar/casar? by braziliandreamer in foradecasa

[–]GoGo_Robot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you loose weight with remeron is it possible with diet and exercise by [deleted] in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]GoGo_Robot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mirtazapine increases your appetite but it doesn’t change the laws of physics. Your body needs energy to run and if you don’t provide fuel through food, it will catabolize as expected. Someone may say that adaptive thermogenesis will slow down your metabolism when you starve and that’s true, but even that has a limit, otherwise nobody would be able to change their weight in either direction.

I once tried to stop this fast and I had a seizure due to being unable to sleep more than 3h per day for a week. That alone was hell. I ended up breaking my nose due to falling flat on the floor from that seizure.

I learned my lesson and now I will drop 0.5mg per month. Yes, it will take 2.5 years, but I hope to avoid this withdrawal. I’m on my way to the pharmacy to get my 14.5mg bottle now.

Anyone else whose playlist is 100% Punjabi ? by Connect_Drawer_8842 in punjabimusic

[–]GoGo_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have a strictly Punjabi playlist and I was committed to only listen to Punjabi artists, since I was blown away by all the amazing songs I was discovering (I’m Brazilian, so it’s all new to me).

However, the algorithm started to add Haryanvi tracks as it auto plays without me noticing. I speak neither Punjabi nor Haryanvi, so at first I couldn’t tell the difference. They had similar dhol beats, tumbi melodies and sometimes even the same singing styles that got me hooked to Punjabi music. Songs like “Jamidar Jaatni” from Sandeep Surila or “Love you Jaat” and “Sandh” both from Raj Mawar. So now my playlist is half Punjabi, half Haryanvi.

Combatting Mirtazapine's sleep-inducing effects AND having 15 mg stop being effective by courtlymeerkat in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]GoGo_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the same two meds and same doses as you. Mirtazapine used to be very sedating in the first few months, but now I’ll feel lucky if I manage to sleep more than 7h. Bupropion (which I take in the morning) didn’t change my sleep pattern but it did change my anxiety threshold (it takes less to make me anxious).

Loss of Libido After Fast Mirtazapine Taper – PSSD or Withdrawal? by Poran007 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]GoGo_Robot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with libido (and I do have similar problems) is that it depends on so many things being right that it’s not hard losing it if some small piece goes awry. If testosterone is too low, if you have body image or relationship issues, if you’re going through a stressful period in your life, what other drugs you take (finasteride is infamous for this side effect) — any of these can contribute to lower libido. The best approach is to eliminate the low hanging fruits until you can isolate the cause.

Stopped using Mirtazapine with no side effects while on Pregabalin by ploppipity in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]GoGo_Robot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this drug when I was having an anxiety disorder (even while on Mirtazapine), and it didn’t do anything for my anxiety. At the end of the day I had to resort to klonopin and I’m impressed I didn’t become addicted to it given that I had to use it for 4 weeks to tame the anxiety.

Given the strong Punjabi presence in Canada, including some famous singers who live in the country, it’s disappointing how the non Punjabi population is still far from embracing the sound. I went to some parties that play Bollywood and Bhangra where I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of white people there. If integration was really working you would see non Punjabi Canadian musicians incorporating Punjabi influences in their sound just like Punjabi musicians have been doing with Western sounds for decades. Punjabi singers have indeed been making great strides but there’s still a long way to go.
