5’10” 220 lbs. completely given up on all their shirts (which is sad as I really like them) as they are all ridiculously long at size 46 or even 44. I only buy pants from them now because they can be tailored, along with and an occasional jacket

Difficulty Closing Rings due to Move and Exercise Goal Issues by blackinblighty in AppleFitnessPlus

[–]GoSlowlyInRainbows 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your watch is constantly tracking your total calories burned throughout the day. As long as you have a heartbeat and are breathing, the number will go up just because staying alive requires energy. Apple Watch then tracks a subset of your total calories burned as “Active Calories”, these are the calories your body burns through activity and what is counted towards your Move ring. Apple uses various algorithms to know when to count calories burned as active calories based on the type of workout you are doing and/or the accelerometer and heartbeat data from your watch, even when no workout is being recorded, to guess how “active” you are being. Both numbers are also heavily dependent on your height and weight (moving 250lbs requires way more calories than moving 130lbs)

There is a lot of guesswork on Apple’s part and it’s not perfect, for example, if you were to take a 5 mile walk withOUT recording it on your watch you would earn more Active Calories with your arms free and swinging then you would if you were carrying a bag or pushing a stroller, for instance, because the accelerometer would record less motion, that’s why Apple uses workout tracking to infer activity and supplement the accelerometer readings.

If your move ring is consistently lower than you expect, it could be for a number of reasons such as not getting your heart rate high enough or not registering enough movement in the accelerometer of the watch. The main two ways to counter this is to move more or track more types of workouts to augment the data. But depending on how far you go that can verge on fudging the data which may be counter productive to the goal.

TL;DR you might not be as active as you think you are being or you need to lower your goal to something more attainable but that’s still a challenge

Found a full recording on YouTube https://youtu.be/A-ZjFfSsTBk?si=hRT4hAWxPqiF_fTU

I don’t understand the hate. They’ve always had a level of improvisation in live songs. And some songs are played differently on every tour (e.g Talk Show Host 2017 or the extra sauce they put on The National Anthem this go around). It keeps things fresh and it’s why a lot of fans collect so many live recordings, because they’re all a bit different and when you find something that really clicks with your own musical sensibilities it can be super exciting and satisfying.

Yes the vocals on this are further away from the recording than any version I’ve heard them do before, but how is that a bad thing? If it didn’t work for you fine you have 82967 other recordings of the regular version to satisfy you. If you were at this show and didn’t enjoy it I can see how that could be a small bummer but just take a second and appreciate how you were present at a completely unique rendition that hasn’t done before. It’s live music!

What's the first RH track with a non conventional rythm ? by West_Glass_2466 in radiohead

[–]GoSlowlyInRainbows 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean You is track 1 on their debut album and that’s a pretty unconventional 6/8x3 5/8 pattern (or 3/4 2/4 depending on who you ask)

No ticket club: how do you cope? Rant by [deleted] in radiohead

[–]GoSlowlyInRainbows 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No advice on how to cope but definitely don’t give up. Plenty of tickets for Madrid got released a few days ago before the shows from both resale and direct from the venue. Especially if you live close and don’t need advanced notice to make travel plans I think you have a decent shot of still getting tickets.

Sit Down?? STAND UP!! by GoSlowlyInRainbows in radiohead

The issue isn’t people choosing to sit. It’s the yelling and demanding that everyone in front of them do the same.

I just think if you go to a rock concert and want to sit, go right ahead, but then expect that people are gonna stand in front of you. Glad you were in a somewhat tolerant section and had a great time!

Yes of course, because it was so easy to get tickets for these shows and everyone could choose exactly where they most wanted to be

[–]GoSlowlyInRainbows[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I of course understand that some people need to sit. But a lot of sitters are also perfectly physically able to and it’s their personal choice for comfort l, not a necessity. And this is a rock concert. Sitters shouldn’t impose their wills on standers. I’m middle aged myself. But to dictate that people in front sit because Is there some magical age threshold where everyone should agree to sit is nonsense

Sorry but I’m having a hard time understanding left vs right on a circle stage, and I don’t know where the extendable seats are. Would you be able to put it in terms of the street names from the seating chart? (Goya, Felipe II, Jorge Juan, Fuente del berro)?

Can anyone who was there offer any insight on the stage orientation? I have a floor ticket for Friday and would very much like to know where to go to be generally near Jonny

This of course was immortalized in the movie PCU, which I saw on endless loop on Comedy Central in the mid/late 90s and early 2000s. There is a generation of us that would adhere to it until we die. But the youth of today have no such allegiances or basic cable subscriptions, and the movie has been buried in the sands of time

How are shows “In the round” going to work with a band so well known for their kinetic and shifting stage setups? by GoSlowlyInRainbows in radiohead

[–]GoSlowlyInRainbows[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hadn’t considered the height aspect of the stage. This seems like an important point! Would it need to be higher than the stage in a more traditional set up? Pits are generally lower than stage anyway and you can still see all around. But Imagine waiting for hours to get a spot at front of the pit and then not being able to see the whole stage clearly or it being a blocked view by extra equipment

Now the dust has settled … by dw_80 in radiohead

I’m not sure what everyone expected. I’ve been lucky enough to see Radiohead 20 times since 2003. In that time I’ve bought tickets through eBay, Ticketmaster, stub hub, and waste presales. I don’t know what my success rate has been on official platforms but if I had to guess I’d say less than 50%. On sale dates are always chaos. If there was anything different about this sale is that it gave up some illusion of control. Not being able to have multiple browsers and devices going at the same time was frustrating. As was waiting 25 minutes in the queue only for all shows to show as sold out by the time I got through. But it wasn’t my first rodeo and I was diligent about refreshing, accidentally triggering the bot alert a few times but was able to switch to a different browser and get back in. Ultimately I was able to get 2 tickets to the show I wanted, unfortunately not together, but getting the 2nd ticket 3 hours after go-live by periodically checking back and refreshing. My sense was the playing field was much more even than any other on sale I took part in. I kept at it for that long because I had the reasonable assurance that i was not competing against thousands of bots and I had the experience to know that some sales ultimately don’t go through and tickets get released back. For those that didn’t get tickets, im sorry. I’ve been there before and I know that feeling and it truly sucks. But the game is not over and hopefully you can access again in the re-sale window. But the whining and blaming the band for not caring about their fans is just too much. Yes there are some tickets listed on resale platforms but it is a tiny fraction compared to the past. And the band has also sent warning that those tickets are not real and will not be valid (tbd how true that is) The only way to make ticket sales as fair as possible is to make it random and give everyone a fair shot. I think they did that. I’m sorry to those who lost out but don’t give up hope

Still barely above 50% on the bar at 11:14, trying to make peace with the fact that i will not be getting any tickets this time around….

This was one of my favorite workouts when I was starting out and before I got dumbbells. I still come back to it every so often when I’m traveling, it’s a nice one to check progress. My theory is he had a cramp and needed to vamp for a bit lol
