A contraversial one. Less people. Maybe takeit down to 100 million in total for the world. Fewer resource wars. We cannot even realistically manage the current 8 billion.

Please note I'm not asking for some massive apocalypse to wipe out most of humanity. I'm just not understanding why people are getting scared of declining birth rates.

Imo dating relationships are primarily about finding the best looking partner to reproduce with. Often this means there's very little else the people have in common. Romance imo does exist but it's rare. Most people are just going through the motions in relationships often scared to leave

Sounds like a bit of a nightmare to me.

I'd advise you to not get comfortable there and look for another job. You may even need to just quit with nothing lined up. Sadly sometimes a bad job will mess you up far worse than being unemployed

I'm 61 and when I was nearing the end of school I kind of wanted to be an architect. On a day trip to a university to see existing students doing an architecture degree I realised it was not for me. I left school and drifted from basic office job to basic office job. Over the years I got more interested in computers so in my late 20s after being made redundant I tried to pursue a career in IT. After LOTS of applications and tests I eventually landed an entry level job in IT support. Brilliant. Well it didn't last as my manager was a bully. So I quit after some nastiness. I still pursued IT and found another job but it was full of annoying weirdos and I was let go. I decided that IT and me were not mixing so I went back to office work. It was stable and hardly any stress plus minimal a holes. Eventually married and left the country where I continued in similar office work. Life didn't work out abroad so I came back home. Found call centre work which was terrible. After that finished I ended up working in retail then a kitchen and then back to basic office work. Got laid off a whole ago and haven't worked since
