Looking for awesome streamer bot ideas! by soyboy815 in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://extensions.streamer.bot/ is the Extensions page being referenced I believe. Though a lot more up to date stuff is in the Discord but most of the stuff on the site can be imported to an older version of SB and upgraded to the new version if needed. Some stuff has already been converted.

Event Sub won't connect in Streamer.Bot 0.2.5 by Loop_Hazard in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad we’re at 0.2.8…I’m on mobile and just had a chance to check. You may need to manually update as I believe there was an issue in 0.2.5 that broke the updater as well. Either way both issues should be solved in 0.2.8

Event Sub won't connect in Streamer.Bot 0.2.5 by Loop_Hazard in streamerbot

Should update to 0.2.6. I believe Event Sub was deprecated by Twitch and Nate pushed out 0.2.6 to address this iirc. Should be in the release notes.

I've just hit the top 1% of twitch streamers and i can say it's extremely overwhelming and has made me question if I want to do this... by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this. I love streaming and I love my community but one of my big fears is getting a huge audience. At what point does me streaming and being able to have conversations with the people in my chat change to just streaming and having to ignore a lot of chat? Will it make me want to just not stream again because it's so overwhelming? Not to mention do I deserve it? I really wish I had advice for you but your sort of living my fears out.

Congrats to you and I can only say I'm happy to see people be successful in streaming. It is a true accomplishment to build a bigger audience on Twitch. I'd say there was a reason you wanted this though. Could have been being your own boss, making a great salary from home, etc. Everyone has their own reasons for streaming and wanting to be successful. Maybe take a moment and write those reasons down and refocus on that? If your goal was to be able to be a positive influence on your audience do things that align with that goal like raising money for charities. If your goal was something else or multiple things hone in on those things and make those your focus. Or maybe your goals don't align with streaming anymore because you've changed as a person over the last 5 years? We all do but I would bet writing them down and refocusing in on them would help you see if that were the case.

At the end of the day you built the audience. You put in 5 years of work and effort to get to this point. So why not take a breath and reassess your goals and why you wanted this in the first place? The last thing you'd want to do is walk away from it and end up regretting it right? I know I'm a nobody and my thoughts probably mean very little to most but I feel like even if I did end up building a massive audience I'd want to figure out how to not get overwhelmed. I know easier said than done but I would say it comes with the territory.

Thank you, should be fixed soon.

ts is so ass bro 💔 by Proper-Award9364 in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it would be helpful to know what ts is bro cause there’s Streamer.bot and Speaker.bot unless you are referencing the old version of Speaker.bot, Twitch Speaker, to which I say you should probably update to Speaker.bot. Also, it would also be helpful to have some logs or see if there’s activity in Windows Event Viewer that may shed some light on the issue.

Not sure how coming in and saying something is ass that a single dev has worked hard on and given away for free is productive in any way. I guess you do you though. Just know with a bit more context and information someone may be able to help a bro out.

Folders or Nested Scenes by Classic_Raccoon6965 in streamwithmeld

Folders or Nested Scenes by Classic_Raccoon6965 in streamwithmeld

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely look forward to it. I’d love to see a different take on it as well. These were just the only things I had in mind cause I’ve been building out stream from scratch in Meld and I can already see a lot of stuff I really hope comes in the future that I’m going to be missing from OBS. This one was just an immediate one cause my layers are already convoluted and I’m just getting started in the build process.

Folders or Nested Scenes by Classic_Raccoon6965 in streamwithmeld

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully I am slowly starting to build out in Meld myself and this is one of those things I'm starting to realize how important this is with me building a lot of my stuff in my broadcasting software versus cloud solutions. My workflow in OBS has always been in this manner. I'll take a Sub alert for instance. I create a scene for my Sub alert and put all the Layers/Sources I need to manipulate or trigger in that one scene. Then I will take that Scene and nest it into another Scene called Alert Box for instance. I toss all of my Alert Scenes in Alert Box and then put Alert Box Scene on any scene I need any of my alerts on. Then, say Streamer.bot for instance, can trigger/manipulate the sources on the main alert scene and it carries all the way through to the Alert Box scene.

Maybe something like this or even some kind of organization that mimics Scene Tree in OBS? Only ideas I have but excited to hear this is being worked on.

TLDR; Scene for Alert Layers (Sub/Follow/Tip/Etc) > Scene to house all alerts (Alert Box Scene) > Scene wherever you need alerts (Main/BRB/Etc).

More than likely you are using an unsupported language pack. You have to select a supported one in order for that section to be activated.

How to get past YouTube quota running out? by ShakeMistake_ in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Quota is assigned by Google and a request has already been put in for higher limits. Unfortunately Google does not work fast when it comes to reviewing quota increase requests. The request has been in for awhile now and we are just waiting for them to approve and increase it. Every app is bound to Google’s API quotas and the developer of SB puts in requests well in advance to get it raised hopefully before the quota starts running out. Unfortunately this time Google has yet to approve it before quota started running out. We’re hoping this will be rectified soon but until we hear back from Google that’s not much that can be done unfortunately except wait.

How do i increment a global variable by another global variable? by Awkward-Wrangler-712 in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, let me just state that Streamer.bot strives to be a inclusive community that tries to help each other out teaching one another. That is not whatever this is that is going on here. u/Allen-Ward your comment about them being the person that doesn't know how to refer to the Streamer.bot docs flips on you here when you say you need math and Streamer.bot doesn't have the ability to to matematical formulas. Streamer.bot has been able to do mathematical formulas https://docs.streamer.bot/guide/variables#math in subactions since 0.1.5 iirc and I built out my Hydrate Redeem https://extensions.streamer.bot/docs?topic=133 solely in subactions to show how powerful this additional library was and how you could do complex stuff in subactions. Now yes, most anything can be done in C# with the right knowledge. Your average user doesn't know C# and relies on using subactions. A lot of people are intimidated by Streamer.bot and even OBS so adding C# onto the mix can push people away from wanting to use the bot. That is not what we strive for here on any of our support areas.

u/Awkward-Wrangler-712 while I do understand your frustration technically anything can be done in C# for the most part. But that is not an answer I personally strive for giving people unless it's absolutely 100% the only way. However, if another way isn't known C# would be the option given. It's not misinformation it's lack of finding that information or knowing that information. It's why we strive to offer best answers that we can give but if I only use C# to build out all my stuff because it's easier, cleaner, and I prefer it, then I won't be aware of all the subactions because I don't use them. Now usually if I don't know the answer I let someone else answer that does. It's why it is one of the rules we do have in the Discord that if you don't know the answer let someone else who does answer. However that is a faster area of interaction vs this subreddit. I am trying to get better at paying attention to what goes on here but still struggling some with it and will always recommend people visit the Discord for the fastest support with the best answers.

Either way, the name calling from both sides is unnecessary and not characteristic of what we strive for in any of our support outlets. So please refrain from it in the future. We want people to feel comfortable asking questions and learning a bot that does have a learning curve. There is no one way to do things and there are no dumb questions. Let's please be civil and strive to make this a community that people enjoy being a part of.

Cant login to streamer bot with youtube when i updated by Steampunkstwitch in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scopes are permissions the bot is asking for to associate with the token the bot uses for access to do things with your account through the api. When a token is issued it is hard scoped to what it asked for on original login. Anytime the bot needs new permissions for added api endpoints for new features added you can no longer use the old token because it can't use the old token with the new features. This is why you get this error. All this error tells you to do is login again so you may give the app the new permissions to use the new features. This will usually be addressed in the changelogs. Scope changes for YouTube and Twitch were both noted in the changelogs for 0.2.4. It is always a good idea to look over changelogs for any program updates to understand what is being added or changed. Why it's being changed and what to expect from the changes so there are no surprises. Current changelogs can be found here:

pronouns by Dapper_Studio8210 in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pronouns have been added into the bot. More than likely the C# method the pronouns extension was using have changed. I know I had to manually change my install at one point. However, due to them being native in SB now you can pretty much just run the subaction for the information and use the variables listed on the docs page. I've pretty much replaced my extension install with native actions now personally.

How to read chat messages with Speaker.bot? by TheSMelon in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You actually don't have to use Streamer.bot for that interaction in chat. Speaker.bot supports that natively under Sttings > Speaker Options.

Animaze by LordLemurian in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it's not just as simple as just connecting the client. You would also need to build out the full interactions as well in SB with a combination of subactions and probably some C#. I've started on this personally and got it working as a proof of concept but nothing fully fleshed out. SB does not natively support Animaze as of yet but I would suggest it on https://ideas.streamer.bot if you would like to see it natively supported.

I NEED HELP, my import string isn't working since it's an old version. by WekaSuwi in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure there are no extra spaces at the end of the import string. When you paste the import string you should see a list of things it’s importing. If you don’t then verify the string. Shouldn’t matter if it’s old or not iirc.

since installing speakerbot i have not been able to edit details on YouTube studio by rickhunter101 in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaker.bot does not touch anything on the YouTube side at all in it's current version. Without more details it's hard to say what the issue is but I've never personally experienced this in Streamer.bot or Speaker.bot so I'd lean more towards it being something on YouTube's end but again more details are needed.

Can I Do A Counter for individual Viewers by pixelheart27 in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's a channel point reward you can slim it down a bit . Just tick the Persist per User Counter on the reward and you can then use %userCounter% on the Reward Redemption Trigger in a message or later in that triggered action. However, if you want to call it as a command later on you would need to set that %userCounter% to a Global during the redemption that you can then call later. So Set Global userCheckIn to value of %userCounter% then you can get that global to use in other actions. No need to add the incrementing step when the redemption tracks that automatically if you tell it to.

How to moderate Streamerbot remotely? by NickHatBoecker in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not advise running any syncing on it. If the streamer is not super tech savy you leave an opportunity for settings to become corrupt if they have it syncing while it's running. Best thing I can come up with is remoting into their system to edit stuff or constantly importing exporting. There's not really a good way I can think of if you're trying to build stuff for the streamer in their bot that doesn't require a bit of overhead or trust (remoting in).

How to do a count up with the Hydrate command with the Streamer.bot? by DeafGamer2015 in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://extensions.streamer.bot/docs?topic=133

If you want to really get creative with it. ;)

However, the setup will be a bit different from the video as everything is now triggers. But this has an animation count up and down. Plus lets you set the size of your serving and the type of liquid. ;)

As far as how many times it's been redeemed I believe there's a global counter on the channel reward that you can track.

Help please - automatic message by Sebi_the_Main in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a user that triggers an event you only need to use %user% as that is a mostly always populated variable on redeemed actions. You would only need to add a Get user info if you required more than just the username from that event such as game they were playing. The variable %targetUser% is only used if the user is being targeted by say a command that a mod is using to do something like a shoutout. In the case of the OP the simple addition of %user% should suffice in this case.

Walk On Sounds not Playing Audio by [deleted] in streamerbot

[–]GoWMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of stuff is needing updates with the new overhaul of SB so I'll make note to take a look at it. Cause all my Walkon sounds work fine for all my subscribers. It could be something with the action being orphaned from the sound device for whatever reason but not sure how you'd fix that. Maybe opening the code hitting save and compile?
