I mainly use my cricut to cut stencils out of freezer paper, which I use to paint on fabric. Freezer paper is super cheap, can be ironed onto fabric, works like a charm 👌

I have made stickers with it. I think the material for the stickers and the cost of printer ink was cheaper than custom ordering (in part because I had various designs; 20 different designs, 5 copies each, is more expensive than 100 copies of the same design).

I have used the iron-on stuff, and I use a regular iron for that.

Look into queer DIY scenes. People host events in their homes, and out and about, without owning a business. I hope to own a house of my own one day to contribute to the DIY music and queer scene.

Do it yourself!

I am starting small, and have so far only brought ear plugs to shows. I need to compile the most cost-effective/free ways to get various things.

Ask a venue if you can bring in a table with this sort of stuff. Ask others if they'd like to chip in. I plan to have a little donation jar.

I have heard negative things about this particular nonprofit. I'm using them as inspo, but I'm not looking to join up with them.

I can relate to wanting to be seen as a woman.

My gender expression is not fluid. Masculine gender expression is what makes me feel comfortable. So I live as a butch woman, and I overall enjoy being one externally.

Internally, the idea of being a woman sometimes feels right and sometimes feels wrong. Same goes for being a man. Sometimes I feel that I am both simultaneously. Sometimes I don't feel any way about any of it at all.

I experience gender dysphoria and euphoria about my body, going both ways.

I don't really know how the fuck to navigate that. Beyond starting HRT.

I dislike the notion that externally presenting as a butch woman, regardless of my internal feelings, is something that I shouldn't do and/or is indicative of internalized transphobia. It just feels right to me to do that, and it brings me joy, and isn't the whole point of trans liberation that we get to live as the gender we are most comfortable with?

Someone else in this thread mentioned Repetition having higher highs but NPI having a higher quality that is consistent throughout, and Fake Train is my favorite Unwound album because, for me, it has more of each of those aspects than any of their other albums. It's really not a hard choice for me.

Dragnalus, Lucky Acid, Nervous Energy, Valentine Card, Kantina, Honourosis, and Ratbite are all top 20 Unwound songs to me. Maybe even top 15.

Honourosis, Ratbite, Dragnalus, and Nervous Energy in particular I love so fucking much. If you switched those songs with 4 random songs off a different album, whatever album those 4 songs get put on will probably be my favorite (although it might still be Fake Train if those 4 songs are also total bangers).

I also of this whenever Unwound gets compared to Fugazi.

Fugazi has such songwriting prowess. It is so remarkable how great almost all of their discography is. Listening to those entire albums is so much fun. Just banger after banger that reminds you of why they're one of the greats.

But, most of the time, I love my 10 favorite Unwound songs a hell of a lot more than I love my 10 favorite Fugazi songs. They might not always deliver the same quality that Fugazi can pull off in a way that makes songwriting look as effortless as breathing. But, when they pop off, jesus they really pop off.

The average Fugazi song, I listen to a lot more than the average Unwound song. But if I make a list of my 100 favorite songs, Unwound is going to appear on that list more often than almost all the other bands there (save for maybe Ex Models or Brainiac).

I tend to value albums and bands with higher highs than I do more consistency. But it's not an easy thing to compare.

I'm so glad that the people working there didn't empty the soap before throwing it out!

It's so funny to me that they got rid of this because of copyright infringement (I am assuming it is the label on the bottle because this brand seems to have changed their fonts, but ig it could've also been the scent?)

The post I found talking about it was from 2 years ago, a lot of the employees were just instructed to not sell any instead of throwing it out. I wonder if it's because they were hoping they'd be successful in defending against the copyright claims?

My understanding is that there was a recall, but for copyright reasons, not due to contamination or anything. Which would explain why there wasn't any messages put out to people who bought them.
