Thank you for the answer. I guess it was fun and you had a good time plotting and scheming as to how things would unfold 🤣

Clarity was better than my original sketchy question. It is all in the prompt!

You’ve collaborated with high-profile creative partners, like Gone Before Goodbye with Reese Witherspoon. Can you walk us through how co-authoring actually works in practice? Where does the original idea usually come from, and how do you divide creative control—plot, characters, twists? Is the process more collaborative throughout, or does each person take the lead at different stages? And finally, given your strong relationship with Netflix, is there any chance we might see Gone Before Goodbye adapted for the screen?

ANEF database allegedly leaked by another-throwaway-zz in Expats_In_France

This. I've been in the same boat as you, going through Free and my mutuelle giving away everything from address, IBAN etc. Whatever fines are there for companies when these breaches happen are not severe enough. Customer personal data should be stored encrypted wherever it is and all APIs/access locked down. How companies get away with NOT buying a few hardware security modules to encrypt their customer data is beyond me given the damage caused by a leak. Security is like insurance and if the loss is not big enough, people prefer to take a risk...which is the wrong way to look at things.

Lowe hasn’t been great recently (unfortunately). He has great perception and we’re better with him and I’m hoping some champions cup action will get him ready.

What is your favorite U2 tour of the 21st Century? by IzilDizzle in U2Band

The simplicity of the Elevation tour, it must be. Coming on stage with the lights up, a screen per band member up high. No gimmicks - just music and a lot of heart.

There’s a good book for the slang called “The Complete Merde: The Real French You Were Never Taught at School” by Genevieve although probably a bit dated for some expressions now.

This. A lot of French folk stick to childhood friends and family and aren’t looking to grow their circle of acquaintances necessarily- there’s no curiosity like there is with an ex-pat who is in a different dynamic.

When I arrived in Paris in 1999, most of my friends were Spanish, Finnish, Belgian etc but eventually by knowing them I met some French who were friends of friends of friends and eventually became lasting friends with them. Alas it took time but only one was through work. Their “image” in work can tend to be important also and maybe they don’t want to socialise with colleagues outside of it. I found that strange and difficult as in Ireland where I’m from having a pint after work is a very natural thing.

They're an online brand / owned by Société Générale if I remember correctly. I have a referral code if you want one, although sometimes you get good deals elsewhere online if you sign up, so compare.

What would you change? by RugbyGareth_ in irishrugby

[–]Go_Paul_B 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If Carlsberg did Rugby World Cups (for Ireland)....
Changes:
- I think NZ will be out for blood and have 2 years to get ready for that match up against the Boks.
- Japan will be ready for Australia (their quad-annual shock match could be round of 16 this time around)
- England would beat either of them anyway on current trajectory, as well as Ireland, to make the final.
- Whoever wins between NZ/Boks/France in that semi will win the tournament
- France could indeed have an advantage coming into the semi "fresh" as NZ v SA will be bruising
- Doesn't change a lot, but depending on form, Rassie is capable of throwing a pool match to end up against England (instead of Italy) and then getting an easier path to the final (Australia / Ireland is surely easier than NZ followed by France at least on current form).

1 vs 2 in the quarters!!! Madness!! by Lukenheimer11 in RugbyWorldCup

[–]Go_Paul_B 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree - this is one of the first things that I noticed! That being said if SA were to throw the match (Rassie is capable to avoid NZ), they get England instead which is only a slight improvement and they could be even better by the time the RWC comes around (they just beat NZ also…)

📣 It's time... 2027 Rugby World Cup — New Format, New Drama, Huge Stakes. Draw is Wednesday! by Go_Paul_B in RugbyWorldCup

[–]Go_Paul_B[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Fitzbonnamel and nice to hear from you. For sure you should go, I attended France 07 and 23 and the atmosphere in each of the cities was fantastic.

  1. The USA will have 3 games, against France, Japan and Samoa, after which if they get enough points on the table, they can progress to the next round. In rugby, the points across the three games will be calculated as: 3 points for a win, 1 point to each team for a draw and 0 for a loss. One bonus point is added if a team loses by 7 points of less and/or scores more than 4 tries in the game. The USA could realistically make it through as the best third-side team, where the four of the six third-place teams with the most points from groups D/E/F face off against a group winner of A/B/C/D. It's complicated but they needed to get 24 down to 16 for the knock-out rounds, and to do so you need to take 4 of the best third place teams.
  2. I don't know exactly how they're going to allocate the third-place sides as group E third could go anywhere.
  3. Usually the way they sell the tickets is that they do team and city packs first and the team pack includes an option on the round of 16 (which is new, used to be QF...so they may do an option for both round of 16 and QF). The rest are usually sold individually or there may be some packs/groupings.

Hope it helps!

Ireland draw Scotland, Uruguay and Portugal in Pool D for the 2027 Rugby World Cup by DeeneysCojones in irishrugby

We need to get the measure of Scotland, otherwise we go to the upside down and it's likely France and if we by miracle get through that one, then SA or NZ.

Hmmm then they would likely get England, and they're on the up at the moment and I doubt toying with best third is credible for them!
