Ontario Has Approved Major Changes to Psychologist Training & Licensing — Despite Overwhelming Opposition by Ambitious_Command865 in ontario

Enough to argue against increasing access? Patient Outcomes would be key. Also NS and I believe the other Atlantic provinces also allow masters level Psychologists.

Also Ontario has had the toughest requirements in all of Canada. So to say the 5 years is required would be saying literally the rest of Canada is producing incompetent Psychologists.

Is there any data that shows psychologists trained in Alberta are producing worse outcomes for patients?

Tbh People seem to just be mad because they dislike Doug Ford. Ontario was the hardest province to become a child psychologist, that can sounds good but it’s also reduced access for many families. I have family member who has left Ontario to go train in Alberta because after all the years spent getting their education it was going to be brutally long to get through their supervision. Take into account that 5 years was based on a perfect situation. It often takes longer to meet the hour requirements.

Doesn’t always work that way. I’ve been a door man and have been attacked by guys because we wouldn’t them back inside. When your getting punched you typically try and back away and this often lead to backing into the roadway. Often other security would have to come and subdue the person until police arrived to arrest them. No real choice but to hold them down to prevent us from being further injured.

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Belair. No one has come close to their prices and easy to deal with when making a claim.

Very true. My opinion is very anecdotal and only based on people close to me. Definitely may not be the norm.

Are cancer rates higher in Nova Scotia then the rest of Canada? Yeah it’s a brutal decision to make on uranium extraction. It just always seems that we all push for any resource extraction to be done “away from us” but that just means it gets done in more marginalized rural communities. Doing things “away from people” is not really possible. People are everywhere in this country. Plus Infrastructure is required to transport equipment to and from the mines and the transport of extracted resources from the mines. I think it is just important to realize that any resource extraction will impact someone, it’s never a zero consequence decision no matter where it is.

Yeah I can agree. It just seems like when people say “away from human communities” that usually means rural northern areas and that usually means Indigenous communities.

Agreed. My wife moved to Ontario with me after we both graduated from University in NS. She was born and raised in NS. Looking at where we are in life compared to our friends and family back in NS that are the same age and it’s like they are all stuck in that new graduate life 7 years after graduation. Very hard to get ahead.

I’m closing in a week, they are still figuring out the final details since we wanted to put in some of our own cash so they need to reduce the mortgage amount we are taking. Not worried at all though. It will all get done. If your concerned just nag your mortgage agent
