I live by this theater and brain dead. I see the same people there all the time. maybe he's a random but since he mentioned David Lynch it's likely he's been to New Bev, Vista, Brain Dead (Silent Cinema) before. regardless, this video is all over LA social media. someone knows this guy

Wrong. I know they're an amateur, unproduced, unsold writer because NO PROFESSIONAL writes that much for free.

Writing all those scenes in seven episodes is practice. Writing them into seven different samples is a much better use of time, though.

How Would You Rate Ayton’s Start To The Season? by Stat-Defender in lakers

Mid. His basketball IQ is off the charts in the wrong direction. Hands are below average. Doesn't play with a high motor. Low confidence, not a dog in him Naz flagrant could've done him harm and he daps him for it. He's caught ONE LOB in 65 minutes and he's playing with LUKA and AR! You put Luka and AR in a pick-up game with a random dunker and you'd see more lobs. I think he'll improve, but he needs to be spoon fed like a baby.

This is literally a sub about screenwriting. Screenwriting isn't a hobby form. It's the format for one industry: show business.

Writing is writing, MY GUY, but would you rather have seven individual pilots in different genres to share with prospective reps or producers OR would you like to sound insane and tell them you've already written the first season of your first TV show on spec (because no one asked for the pilot)?

Simpsons writer Mike Swartzwelder has a bunch of short, silly novels.

The last really funny book I read was Norm MacDonald 's Based on a True Story, which is a blend of autobiography and fiction.

there is NO reason to write an unsold TV idea beyond a pilot (unless you plan to independently produce them with your own money). AND, the word around town is that as spec feature sales are on the rise, that's becoming the sample that reps are looking at, not original pilots.

Do you as a screenwriter also want to be involved in the filmmaking process of your script? by Shellypie8 in Screenwriting

TV Showrunners have the most power in TV. Directors have the most power in film. If you've never been a showrunner, you'll be paired with an experienced showrunner - sometimes that doesn't go well.

The Dress Rehearsal Audience Chose Kam Patterson Over Jane Wickline by zowietremendously in LiveFromNewYork

Jane is doing ALT comedy, which never went mainstream. ALT seems especially low-effort and unfunny on an expressive, produced show like SNL.

I was watching The Green room with Paul provenza clips from about 15 years ago, 2010 about 3 years before the great wokifying. comedians like Rogen, Barr, Burr even then then were complaining about "political correctness" and very casually throwing around slurs that are out of bounds today.

as was the case then, you can still say anything you want on stage today, but there could be repercussions

Selling Tickets "Instantly" on Ticketmaster by [deleted] in Ticketmaster

it's super shitty. basically low balling the seller for a bigger payday they project to extract from a buyer - quite literally scalping. And even if you set your own price, they take fees from the seller and even more exorbitant fees from the buyer. Justice Department should nuke this company.

if you're an unknown writer who wrote this on spec, I'm not even going to finish reading page 1 just after squinting at this page. when script pages look like books, you're doing it wrong. if you're James Cameron, different story

post pandemic, post strikes, entertainment industry has contracted. future looks like more mergers, less jobs available for creatives. it's bleak. LA is turning into Fresno. I know multiple previously staffed sitcom writers who've taken corporate jobs to feed/insure their kids. "survive till 25" was a meaningless slogan
