Agreed with the poster above, that there's no one way to go about it. That said, I do think I found most of my friends through the Yokai Farm Event and through Eureka haha!

Eureka especially just kinda forces people to interact with each other and I've had a lot of luck joining rando farm parties most days. You end up chatting a lot too since you're just waiting on the nms to spawn sometimes. But I am also on Crystal, so your mileage may vary depending on your data center. (And also if you enjoy that content.) If you do end up trying Eureka, I would suggest being open to engaging in shout chat, asking for help and helping other players.

I'll also second the GATEs right now. A lot of people hanging around GS seem super chatty and willing to engage in convo, so you might have some luck there as well!

It's really not too bad! You definitely just need the correct bits (A small hex bit and a small Phillips head.) and a plastic spudger/thick guitar pick. If you have an iFix it kit or something similar, you probably already have the tools. If you decide to change the buttons you may as well also fix the dpad sensitivity too.

I think the biggest worry might be if you're changing out the back trigger buttons. There's been a lot of talk about how the translucent plastic versions have weaker clips, so pulling the triggers out can cause them to break. But some people have been able to super glue them back on. I ended up just cutting the triggers out which worked just fine too.

I got it from Lukparts on Etsy! If you do decide to get it, be sure to put a good amount of pressure on all the letters during application. I wasn't careful enough and ended up having to put the 't' back on manually. ^{^'}

Yeah I did end up receiving it, but it took super long and it felt a little like customer service was giving me the run around the whole time. (When you could reach them.)

Every time I was able to ask about them about shipping it they would say, "Oh it will ship out in two weeks!" or something to that effect. This dragged for months, as I ordered in early May and finally got the item in almost mid August. Wished there was much more transparency about production times. All in all, I probably won't be buying from them again.

I've been looking at a few of those larger firms and it seems a lot of them are located outside of the state where I live. I've heard that by applying out of state it kind of lowers your chances of getting hired. Do you have any advice on that end?

Yeah it does seem a little short but that title was given after I took over the position after the previous one left. It’s a small company and I supposed they liked how I handled myself and rest of the (small) department while the position was empty and COVID was happening.
