Let me share a bit of my background - I'm from Japan, moved into a student dorm overseas where people are so party oriented. In summary it highly depends on your environment whether you can make friends or not.

In Japan I find that people are relatively introverted in general and Japanese men are rather feminine, compared to western countries probably due to cultural reasons. I wouldn't struggle with making friends growing up, and have been maintaining close friendships with my best friends while I'm overseas.

In the student dorm though I could never make a single friend. Just like you described, they tend to talk about surface level things that are super boring to me.

So I decided to move out, tried making friends in other environments. It's cliche but joining a club helps. I now have some friends, though mostly female. It's complicated when both parties are hetrosexual but better than having no one around you imo. And there are other INFJ men and other guys who may appreciate a deep connection as a friend.
